Finally someone mentions getting the runs in the bush. Good ol' Joe. Good review of a setup I rarely think about.
Thanks for the input
I like it. I bought one a long time ago and never used it. Now that I see you can do the lean version, I'm going to be using mine a lot now.
Thanks Joe, great review and timely also! My kids were just bugging me for a new tent!
Looks like an exactly like the U.S. half shelter. I prefer using just one side of this, which I got the idea from from your past video. Thanks for the post guys, keep it up.
Great Review! Will check this out.
Cool tent halves, thanks for sharing and take care.
For your entrence, you don't need to use both rows of buttons. You're right, the whole button system is not the best invention for quick and easy setup, but if the buttonholes are not too lose, the pieces will stick together bulletproof.
Greetings from Germany
thanks, will check it out.
Hey cool vid man. Can you link as many of these as you want together? Like could you just ass 4 together to create a bidder tent?
Thanks for this.i have just bought one and made a quick vid about it.i think it willbe goid for 1 man camping out.pete
I hope you will share this information with the E2E viewers. Thanks for watching

have you tried a fire hole with the lean to it seems like it would be comfortable with the warm ground and less smoke
I like the pattern of the flectar.
US pup tents can be found for less than 50 bucks all day long new in the boxes with stakes, poles and tie downs.
Awesome :) During winter, how did you guys stayed warm. I have this shelter half and it seems rugged enough to have a fire pretty darn close to it
Yes, we had the ground sheet as well as a closed cell foam pad. But in the winter they also gave us some straw as added insulation. Maybe they were feeling generous. ;)
We were pretty cold. Fires weren't allowed after dark, so all we had to keep warm was the groundsheet, closed cell foam mat, straw, and sleeping bag.
At least we had enough chow.
Remember sharing one of those tents with my buddy (you are issued half a tent only) when I was in the German army at about 0°F.
BTW, there's supposed to be a set of 4 push fitting aluminium rods (and 4 tent pegs) that go with each half. With a little ingenuity you can even combine 6 halves into a big tent (make a square with 4 halves and put the other 2 halves on top)
the US Puptent is at least 50% longer and wider - that's why I, a German, always preferred it.
hey guys. i'm wondering if you could do a video/short series on hygine during an extended stay in the woods? how to stay clean, disposal of hygne products/soap etc. cleaning cullinary equipment and so forth. just somthing i'm curious about and thought it might intrest some people.
i like this tent, too. becaus i am from germany. but maybe you can have a look at the polish army tent if its possible to get one in the usa. its made of canvas, too. but it's in a tipi form out two real nice poncos (in my opinion) for the whole just 12 € in germany (about 15 bugs).
what length poles would be suitable?
Did you guys used the rubberized groundsheet with this tent?
LOL @ "Room for the Dog !1 " haha..Good review Joe. Thanks, Cheers ;-))
I sure will :)
should come with aluminium link poles (4 per half sheet) wood ones are a no no.
great value tho
had the worst nights in those things while serving in a mountain recon battalion in the alps...
dave canterbury covers this in his Yurt series
you can make it rainproof with wax. a normal candle will do it
Oh that sucks ;) I will get another German shelter half when it will start getting colder, and I'll try some different configurations for use with Fire. Also i will compare it against the French two man army tent ( which is pure awesome and a bit heavier in material ) But not so much fire options. Then of course a simple shelter ( made one last winter ... sleept in it one night with only a cheap ass sleeping bag and a fire outside... Didn't know if i was gonna survive xD Anyway I'll record all.
we germans love buttons
Butterz88 Agreed I have 4 of these when I go camping I loan them to my friends they are amazing
in Eur its like 10-12 Euros
I dare say its the same type half shelter just different camo on it
It would help if you set it up correctly.
how much is 15 bucks =15$ in germany is not so much
you use it wrong... you have to put it over a small hole... thats how you make space in it.... thats how it is done in german army.
no that's not how it's done. nobody wants to sleep in a puddle.
First because I am a wanker without a life and still live in my mums basement
