I talk about Flashpoint Batman for 11 Minutes. Flashpoint: Batman Knight of Vengeance #comics #content #explained #explore #new #batman #dc #dccomics #flashpoint #flash #joker
I absolutely loved this story. It feels so much deeper than the regular Batman-Joker relationship because it’s about two parents coping with the loss of their child in opposite ways. And it’s nice to see Batman so brutal, except he can never bring himself to kill his wife, because to do so would cut off the last connection he has to his dead son.
While watching this video I realized this particular story of Flashpoint Batman and Joker would make a super good "gotcha" film. If Thomas is never referred to as such, only ever Mr. Wayne or Batman, and they keep Joker's appearance hidden or just out of frame, having intermittent flashbacks to the night of the murder of Bruce but never showing who it was that died until the third act. It would make for a really good movie.
Referred to as even just Batman. Because unless they decided to keep Thomas' face hidden, or went clean shaven, either his age or the mustache would give it away, unless they deliberately showed batman killing with guns. Could act as a good "shock value" switcheroo, with normal moviegoers thinking its an unfaithful batman, and letting real fans immediately know its flashpoint batman On a different note. Hot take: cast Michael keaton as thomas in that thworetical movie. Already have him casted as batman in both 89 and the new flash movie, so unless it is just straight up flashpoint batman in the flash movie, you have a precedent set to lure normal viewers into believeing it to be bruce
The way Martha reacted to Thomas telling her that Bruce wouldn’t become a doctor, that was hard to watch. A mother learning that her son would fall down the same path as her husband, but not knowing her son would succeed both his parents, and be better as they hope. That is heartbreaking.
I just think it’s interesting how both Bat(men? man’s?) had totally opposite reactions to the same trauma. The first, surrounded himself with a new family, after his own was completely lost. The second isolated himself completely after his family was ripped apart.
I was hoping that Martha Wayne Joker would have been expanded upon. I believe that it was a bad idea to kill her. I would say somehow bring her to the main universe and commit murders in Gotham. I would love to see the reaction of both Batman and the Joker. I believe once the original Joker discovered her Identity he would go out of his way to help her kill more people to screw with Batman's head.
@@user-gz5qc7oh2s don’t you think that would be a great story? Batman confronting his Mom who’s a female Joker? Also the Joker finding out Batman’s mom is a female version of him? They could write a 100 stories from that
Bruce Batman doesn't kill the Joker because of a promise. Thomas doesn't kill the Joker because that's his wife. So similar yet so different, I love it.
Fun fact: Real pearls are knotted individually to the strand to avoid them all going flying and scattering if the fragile string ever snaps. Which means that all of this happened for a fake necklace that costed maybe 50 bucks.
A dead giveaway was the shape of the pearls itself but then again, to a person traumatized since he was 8. A 50$ necklace is priceless. Point is it doesn't fucking matter
That is awesome, not being able to kill the Joker because she’s his wife is a fantastic take Even more terrifying than the usual joker Also interesting to see the trick from The Dark Knight in a comic book, and darker (not sure which came first) awesome video! id love to know more
Personally, I never really liked how flash going back in time to save his mom somehow killed Bruce Wayne but I’ve gotta admit this version of Batman is so cool.
"I read as a kid". Yeah, comics really haven't been for kids for a long time. When I was little, I had the original Age of Apocalypse line. I also had the 4 part ending to the clone saga, where MJ is poisoned into having a miscarriage.
I strongly agree. There are decades of excellent stories that haven't been used, including some unusual ones. Two I'd like to see on the big/small screen are: - "What Ever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow", the last story featuring the Earth-One Superman and one of the darkest Superman stories ever done. - "Gotham Nights", a four-issue miniseries which is contains four stories featuring people living in Gotham City. Although Batman makes an appearance he is not the main character of the story.
Holy hell, that was such a good video 🤩 I love when Batman explores possibilities like this, and your cover was very well done :D I'd love to hear more about this Batman!
Flashpoint Harley Quinn, a DJ Girl who had it all, until something happened, her songs were pirated, or stolen.... and after getting sued over many times, She became insane... beyond saving, shes now a maniac wielding dual pistols. and she raids banks & music stores flawlessly, until the batman shows up...
@@anthonyfrias5533 Wasn’t there a Harley character in the Flashpoint movie? Thomas Wayne was interrogating her for intel on the Joker, he threw her off the building, but then Cyborg rescued her?
I loved this different take on Batman origin! Now if only they make a what if story if Batman was Penguin as in what if Oswald became Batman cos when he was a baby, he was swap place with Bruce for some reason?!
technically it still exist as an alternate universe (in Bruce's snowball), Martha created a machine so she can leave that universe and visit Bruce, she offered Thomas to go with her as well, he convinced her to stay and Kal El revealed that he was send to Earth to see if Earth should be dominate by Krytonian, so Thomas go out to deal with them
From a realistic point of view, a kid died and their parents went insane. One dressed up as a human bat and the other a violent jester. It seems darker and more childish if you think about it
I'm just really curious about what happened to the actual Joker in this universe. He doesn't fall in the vat of chemicals and just remains a normal dude?
That is possible, or maybe the man who would have been The Joker is just a moderately successful comedian. In the Flashpoint Universe Barry Allen was just a police scientist, not The Flash and it is likely that other characters' lives also took a different directions (see Wonder Woman and Aquaman).

It's about two parents*
Martha Wayne Joker does the "One bad day" so well. I was also so surprised by their continuation and how they're healing in a bubble timeline.
@vinnie3731 what do you mean? Isn't that what they said? Sorry, I'm autistic.
