The two rivers that can never mix, no matter what you do. in oguta lake in imo state,Ogbuide and Orashi do not mix.
If you pour them within a cup, rumors have it that they crack the cup in different directions and trickle away. Do you have rivers of this sort in your village?

Another scientist says "This happens because of the major difference in the size , density and temperature of their flow. These differences mean that the two rivers meet and do not mix.
Some rivers that don't mix in Nigeria
The Niger River and the Benue River do not merge, they flow separately.

The interesting tale of oguta lake in imo state
Some of those wonders is hidden within the Niger-Delta rainforests in Nigeria, in Imo state.
Two furious rivers flow side by side in Oguta Lake, without ever coming together. For as long as the people remember it was this way.
Oguta Lake is a lean finger lake formed by barley, sand, and silt deposits that dammed the lower Njaba river.

It is the largest natural lake in Imo, and the whole southeast of Nigeria, at 8.05 km long and 2.41 km wide.
Water flows into it mainly from the river Njaba, and to a lesser degree the rivers Uju, Awbana, and Urashi.
It's two of those rivers flowing side by side, parallel to each other, without ever coming together.
You can see it on the surface of the lake almost instantly. One flows in a green shade, and the other brown.
Locals believe the two rivers were male and female. The green water is Ogbuide, who is thought to be the female. The brown is a male called orashi

I didn’t even know other bodies of water didn’t mix, I thought it was just the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean. This was cool to see. Also, the whole vibe reminds me of Haiti 🇭🇹 ❤️

Scientifically, reason water bodies will meet and not mix may be due to salinity, density or temperature difference. Though, there's a legendary mythical tale to why the Ogbuide and Orashi river meets but never mixes. Yet another interesting vlog by Chioma. Thumbs up!
