classic video. I remember watching it back in middle school all those years ago. Now I'm running listening to this song. Terry Fox will forever inspire me!
God bless ya Terry I'll see you again some day. I was in grade 6 when our teacher pulled the fire alarm. She said Terry Fox is comming up the road everyone to the fence. We all lined up against the fence as he walked by. Bras d'Or School 5 miles from the NFLD ferry.
This man was a hero no a legend this man ran around Canada, raised 100 million bucks for cancer, and he did it all with cancer and a mechanical leg terry fox you will be remembered and missed may you rest in peace.
One thing money can’t buy is heart! Terry had heart and that human instinct and he never gave up or gave in. He’s remembered as a Canadian Trailblazer and warrior!
They played this at my school's Terry Fox assembly. I was emceeing and the boy behind me managing the speakers was singing the song. I looked in front of me and saw another boy singing it as well. *I've never been so proud to be canadian*
He ran even tho his stump was blistered, bleeding, aching, ulcered. He kept putting that leg on every day even tho it hurt like hell. Even tho his chest was hurting with cancer - tho he didn't know why it hurt yet. This is a hero. Someone who sticks with the goal even thru the pain.
I think this is truly one of the greatest Canadians of all time, you probably don't understand how far he ran,he pretty much ran a marathon a day with 1 leg from 4:00 am to 6:00 pm every day and he made it all the way to thunder bay when he was forced to stop he had run about 5700 km and he was sadly forced to stop because his cancer spread to his lungs, the only reason he did it is to make sure no none else felt his pain, one day he saw a 10 year old boy who lost his leg and thought he shouldn't have gone through that pain at his age.before terry died the one thing he wished is that the marathon of hope continued. Some one like this is really rare in this world and sadly he had to die and I hope he inspired you to make a change,he certainly inspired me.
I was 10 in 1980 when Terry ran through my hometown of Aurora. The iconic photo of him where he stopped with the cop car behind him. My dad was driving. I'll never forget what Terry said, from his stretcher..."the cancer has spread. It's in my lungs now. I'll come back and fish if I can" Two days ago I was told I have lung cancer, it's spread. How ironic. I'll finish for you if I can, Terry!!
To all the dislikers Terry Fox is a hero he ran for cancer. Heres some facts about Terry: He was born in BC He ran when he had cancer He learnt he had cancer at the age of 18 and passed away close to 23
I live in Canada and those people who disliked are no offence but why do you dislike to a hero he raised money for cancer and people dislike for no reason he’s a hero and you dislike like SMH
We need more people like terry... people who dedicate the rest of their life to a noble cause....people who dont force others to help.... people who are kind.
To me Terry is much more than someone who helped raise all that money for cancer research. We remember Terry for his beautiful spirit and determination. Ironically, perhaps, it took cancer for his spirit to truly shine, or to bring out the best in Terry.
I have so much memories of my music teacher playing and getting us to sing this song at our elementary school’s Terry Fox Run. Thank you so much, Ms. Kapov.
Dear. Terry Fox terry fox we can still make the terry fox run. Wiothout you we will make you PROUD Terry fox you were our hero we love you so much please keep our land free even when your dead we will still do the marathon.. For you terry fox Thank You Terry Fox -Sebastian
I'm a newf, and live in st.johns. With that said I can also say I don't carry any patriotism nor believe in it or any man made beliefs. However with that said,I can also say Terry is the only human worthy of hero status in my heart♥
I was not an amputee when Terry ran his marathon. He was a great hero to me then. I am an amputee now. And he is more a hero to me now than he was then because I understand better. He inspires so many. Me included.
We did a Terry Fox walk in elementary school, we did it up until grade 6. We never did it again once we got into junior high and high school. The best part was fist pumping on the sidewalk when a mac truck drove by so they would honk their horn, sometimes they let us chaperone the younger kids when they do it
He was a good man forever remembered his spirit is always running forever he was a good man one like equals one prayer for terry fox the Canadian champion
I will try to run 10 miles for him rip terry fox a true Canadian hero he is so inspiring to me I will forever remember him #legendsneverdie #terryfoxes spirit will keep running forever
I'm Canadian and proud of Terry Fox because he raised over $850 Million on his run in total and that's why I'm proud to be Canadian and proud of Terry Fox
I will continue the marathon of hope I am proud to be a Canadian also I did the terry fox run last month and ran 6 and a half laps I wish Terry did not pass away he was a very nice inperational man Sorry for any spelling mistakes I am only 10 in 5th grade
Mis sentimientos encontrados por su ejemplo de determinación, perseverancia y amor a sus ideales. Dios escucho sus plegarias para los jóvenes y los adultos es una motivación y ejemplo a seguir.
so many memories of the Terry fox run in elementary school, they'd pack all 300 kids in the gym to watch the same documentary clip every year on a tiny 32 inch TV at the front of the gym, they'd then play 500 miles which for the longest time everyone I knew just called it the Terry fox song. then we'd all get up and run around the block, I even remember some kids would do the limping walk he does because they thought it was funny. too bad the schools around here don't do them anymore
I don't think people realize the pain he endured in his amputated led every single step he took... his bravery and pure will is incredible
I'm Canadian and I'm proud of terry fox because he raised over 100 million ;) saved thousands of young people I'm proud to be Canadian

it must be difficult to be a amputee
it's not fun but the alternative is often death. So being an amputee is pretty good considering ...
