    I was just researching these trim tabs for my 172cc with a Yamaha 90 and your video came up. Mostly looking for balance and to improve the bow position down into the Monterey bay chop without having to trim the motor down too much. Thanks Hil

    Thanks that's what I was a little concerned about. We get a lot of wind chop down here in the coastal Atlantic waters of SE Florida so I may need to go with a custom fabricated t-top. Thanks for all your help. I really like the way you have your boat setup.

      Scott B I plan on adding some welds and extra supports to mine. I’m not shy about the conditions so I have put it through its paces. I think with a few tweaks it will be dialed. If I do the tweaks I’ll prolly post a video showing the mods.

      @@SpringbokDesigns I think a v-brace across the front might be the way to go from what I've been reading. I'll be watching for any of your follow-up videos.

    What is the trim tap measurement? 6x8 or 10x10? Let me know. Thank you

    I see from one of your later videos that you replaced these with Lenco's pretty quickly. From what I've seen, these Smart Tabs just don't cut it.

      I think they could work on smaller boats. They do help get the boat on plane quicker but they aren't adjustable so when the boat is listing its nice to be able to level it out.

      @@SpringbokDesigns Yep, I need to be able to control the tabs. BTW, I just bought a new 204 CC today (with Lenco tabs) and they're going to be rigging the electronics in the next week or two. I used your dash layout as a guideline. I'm going with the Simrad GO9, Simrad RA20 VHF, and Fusion RA70NSX stereo. Are you still happy with your electronics layout? Any other general rigging suggestions that aren't in your videos? Thanks!

      @Scott B Congrats on the new boat! I am pretty happy with my electronics layout, there aren't too many different ways to configure things since the dash is small. The only thing I might do differently is move my VHF to my electronics box up on my T-Top but I am ok with where I have it now. The cost of the stock one is very steep but I think if I went back I’d prolly pay for that but you can’t beat the price on the Stryker. I might try buying the cross braces for the Stryker and see if that helps.

      @@SpringbokDesigns Thanks. Sorry, but I have one more question and then I'll stop bothering you. Are you still happy with the Stryker 300 t-top? Is there a reason that you didn't mount the legs right up against the console to maximize walk-through space between the console and gunwales?

    • @SpringbokDesigns
      @SpringbokDesigns  Před 5 lety

      Scott B I’m mostly happy with the Stryker T-Top. I think it’s a little flimsy for my liking, it definitely wiggles a lot when I’m on the water in any chop. The reason it’s not flush with the center console is because it would hit the hand rail that goes up and over the windshield.

      The step came installed on my boat from the factory so I don't know the screw size that was used.

    Do you still like them ?

    • @SpringbokDesigns
      @SpringbokDesigns  Před 6 lety

      I do like them but I think my boat is just a tad too big for them. I will likely upgrade to the Lenko Trim Tabs this winter. I have more weight in the back with my kicker motor so I think I have maxed out these trim tabs ability to keep the boat level.

      @derfk6194 Před 6 lety

      Thanks for your time ! Did you think they worked ok before you installed your kicker ? I am not wanting to put one on mine .

    • @SpringbokDesigns
      @SpringbokDesigns  Před 6 lety

      I think they work well for taking the porpoise affect out of the boat but I would say that on my boat it doesn't do the best job of keeping the boat level from side to side. When I have multiple people on my boat I have to move them around to get the boat to ride level and that was before the kicker was installed.
