    is difficult to obtain, it took me over an hour, is necessary a recrystallization,
    It's more sensitive if you don't add CuO and keep it in freezer, it's sensitive to 1g of TATP.
    for performance I mean yeld of reaction...

    i think you shoukd use baking soda instead of NaOH, in my experience, ammonia and NaOH destroys the nitrate esters.

    CuO is used for super thermite (CuO/Al) if it burn Al it mean that its behavior is oxidant...
    CuO issue O2 during the detonation then in air if it is yet hot react with O2 of air, but I believe very little quantity.

    It's a plastic powerfull explosive, little know, only problem is the store, because it decomposed in some month, in the freezer is maintained long...

    yes but if you add slowly H2SO4, and the temperature is 0-2°C the synthesis work fine.

    the synthesis is equal at maltose octanitrate or ETN...
    is more that sufficient 1g of TATP

    I never have time, in November, maybe I will because I'll have more time.
    I tried to detonate it but I have not done a decent detonator so it's failed,at a my friend of mine worked...

    yes you have reason, but i watch the thing in other point of view, the global reaction isn't balanced, but the partial reaction when happen the detonation is balanced, however is better not add CuO because yet the SON is unclean for his own...

    Doesn't the H2SO4 oxidize sugar to carbon creating a black color?

    H2SO4+NH4NO3-->(NH4)2SO4+HNO3 ; after the (NH4)2SO4+HNO3 is cool add sugar (in powder is better) there aren't problem...
    the other H2SO4 that you add, make from catalyst.
    sucrose is equal at maltose, and maltose octanitrate is make in this way.

    @ottanicubano88 Hmmm, well I would make the HNO3 mix before adding to the sucrose. The H2SO4 is merely acting as a catalyst to make more nitronium (NO2) ions appear. It would reduce the risk of you ending up with a lump of carbon with a little octanitrate. But kudos on your synthesis, I didn't think it would be very possible even if sucrose is not to different from mannitol or xylitol.

    Does it work well? Does it have good brisance and can it be initiated with for example 1 or less grams of HMTD? Is it stable enough with the added CuO to be detonated just after the synthesis?
