This is soooo good. Can't quite believe I'm hearing it for the first time in 2021 as the album was a favourite when it came out. Beck really was something back then.

Apparently to the album "Midnite vultures", which is weird considering they share the same name... It was released a year later with a bunch of other B-sides on an EP called "Beck".

Always has been my favorite. Best use of saxophone.

Update from my previous comment: This track was first available in 2000 on the CD "Nicotine & Gravy" single. It was advertised as previously unreleased on the packaging sticker. The single also came with a really funny "Zatyricon" and a music video of Nicotine & Gravy. I got the CD for $4 for a friend who loves the song!

    Botox injections
    Chemical solvents
    Making midnight movies
    Contaminated actors
    Living on a farm
Harnessed to a life of protein and equipment
    Gristling in grain
    Soft nights
Everyday a reaction to the affection
Manholes and light towers walking down imitation streets
    Little girls with plastic cameras
And shops full of cold cuts and candy
Feeding the trains and bisecting the night
    Hand grenades in the trash
    Medics running from the sun
    She borrowed cartilage wire
    Tracing my face
    With broken hands

I actually read that he didn't write this song until after the album was out - he specifically wrote it to be a b-side and ended up naming it after the album just because he couldn't think of a title.

@MrAlltiedup I think the reason was that it didn't fit in with the whole "funk/soul" theme of the album. That's why Beautiful Way felt out of place to some.
I think it would've been nice as either A. a middle track/interlude or B. hidden track
