  • Meet Rochelle Jordan, she's a singer from Toronto who was dubbed by Vibe Magazine as the "female version of Drake". She is buzzing on the blog scene thanks to her remix of Drake's "Marvin's Room" and her debut mixtape, ROJO, which samples a diverse number of artists including Kelis and Radiohead's Thom Yorke. We recently had a chance to talk with Rochelle, who will be performing at Harbourfront Centre on February 4th as part of The Known (Un)Known with Tika Simone.

How is she the female version of Drake? Drake is a rapper FIRST & ALWAYS. All he does is harmonize, which anyone can pretty much do. He could never hit the notes Rochelle Jordan does. He's a 3 on a scale of 1-10 in singing. Rochelle Jordan is a 10. Rochelle Jordan is not the female version of anyone, she is herself & she makes wonderful music, unlike these mainstream goofs. Whoever made that comparison is completely stupid.

I think they say she's the female version of Drake because like her- Drake is heavily influenced by Aaliyah. You can tell in their music. She knocks it out the park though. Very talented
