Even when the lathe turns "backwards" you manage to make chips😀👍🏻
I don't want to repeat myself but I'm again stunned by your skills as a mechanics, an engineer, a black smith primarily, and secondarily a film photographer, a film editor, an instructor etc. all at "once".

The thing that the internet allows us to do in these areas of expertise is that we all who are all over the world can produce our skills over the net for all folks of like skills to learn from and those who produce their skills over the net allows us a global method to all gather skills by watching. In this video, we have seen a man who is a very skilled person who is willing to share his skills for the entire world. That is what we need as we should pass on skills in order for them to be passed on and down to other generations. There is no language barrier in videos such as we saw as we follow the hands and know what the machines will do and so forth. I want to thank the man for making this video as it is very informative and helpful.

    You did a great job.
A few questions / comments: can you show us were you connected the ground cable of your welder to? I hope the welding current did not pass the spindle bearings?
The original part was made of cast iron.
Your part is made of steel, under high load this may result in fretting due to the fact that the material of the spindle is also steel.
