- This is my review of the Dorco Prime Platinum Double Edge Blades Revisited! Dorco recently moved production of these blades from South Korea to their new state of the art manufacturing plant in Vietnam. Other items used in this review & shave include the Merkur 38C Safety Razor, Semogue Owners Club Boar Brush, Stirling Soap Triumph Shave Soap & Aftershave Splash.

Great review on the Dorco Prime blades, I need to revisit the Dorco blades as well. Totally agree about Merkur DE razors, they are affordable quality razors that have been around for a long time and I expect for long time to come, I have the 34c and a standard Merkur head on my own handle, great shavers.👍🤠🤟

Ok so your video came out first in my search for these blades since today i saw them here in a store, i was curious since is the first time they arrive here in Venezuela for 0.30 cents the 10 blade pack, I must say i'm amaze, i shaved my head and no cuts, did my face and arms since i my arm tattoos look way better with the arms shaved haha, amazing video and review, thank you so much for this.
Thanks for watching & commenting! I was pleasantly surprised on how well these blades shaved. I picked up a 100 pack of these Dorco Prime blades & now I have less than 1/2 of these remaining. I have a lot of different blades & to actually get through 50+ of these blades is an indication they are a favorite that I reach for frequently! OH NO... those might not be the "new" ones Brian.
That BIG writing on the top of the blade, is a dead giveaway.
I believe the NEW ones, are the ones, with the HQ sticker, but also maintain the ORIGINAL letting on the blade (along with the D symbol at the beginning.)
I say this as someone who own the originals, the ones with that BIG lettering, and the new ones that look similar to the originals.
Thanks for watching Brother! I am pretty sure these are the new ones because of the HQ sticker & the fact they are made in Vietnam. I had the Original ones made in Korea & I can feel the difference between the 2 blades.

The original (that look like the new ones. The font is a tad thicker).
The 2nd ones. The ones with that BULBOUS writing on it.
And the 3rd. Which look like the original, though the font is a tad thinner.

Interesting. I have a tuck of Dorco Prime blades which do not have the "HQ" marketing hoo ha on the cardboard cover. I presume that mine were made in South Korea. I like them, but not as much as Nacets. They are not as smooth or as long lived as the Nacets, IME. I perceive the Nacets to be just a bit sharper than the Dorco Prime blades, and smoother.
I wonder how the Vietnamese mfg blades compare to the S. Korean made ones... But, I am probably just going to stick with the Nacets.
The Dorco Primes from Vietnam are a tad better than the old versions from South Korea in my opinion. Not quite as good as Nacets but close in terms of smoothness. I believe the Primes are pretty close to the Nacets in sharpness. So many great blades are out there! Have a great week Brother!😎👍
