I loved the phrase at the end, still compete once in a while but I don´t want to be a closed minded sensei one day. Judo is more than IJF rules.
Tsurite hand has such a subtle way of working, I was pushing and lifting too hard.
    Arigatou !

This is the first time I've ever heard about oikomi, hikkomi, tobikomi, yokokomi and mawarikomi. Thank you VERY much, I'll have to think on it. Please, create more videos if that is possible, onegai shimasu! Have you ever thought of crowd-funding an instructional DVD?

We're so glad you found it helpful! A long time ago, we made the decision to never monetize any of this content. We made it to preserve Riki sensei's teachings for posterity. You're most welcome to download and collate all of these videos however you'd like! One of these days I'll get around to uploading all the videos to the Internet Archive to make that very easy. Lots more videos coming!

The versatility of Judo waza never ceases to amaze me. The numerous variations, often made possible by the simple yet ingenious modification of how one grips, enable one to apply a single technique in a myriad of situations; even better, they help one get around restrictions caused by temporary or even permanent injuries.
I have a request, if I may: could you folks come up with a video sharing how to do koshi-waza and other throws if one is no longer able to bend one’s knee/knees as much as normally preferred-due to age and/or nagging injury?
As always, many thanks for this video. Domo arigatou!🥋👊🙏😊

Thanks so much Jun! The class this video was distilled from was almost a year ago, and I have quite the backlog to work through, and none of that backlog includes this content I'm afraid. However, rumor has it that Riki sensei might start live streaming one of these days, I'm sure you could talk him into covering that!

what about players wearing the national team ki. those ki tend to be a lot stiffer fabric so you can't do those grips?

@@RikiDojoUSA ha. got a few. young men who're on the british team in our club. our instructor is Locklan Moorheads dad. so it can get a bit intense been ragged around by young lads when your in ya 50s. trying to rip the grip off one of these lads is pretty pointless. its like being grabbed by an ape.
