Triumph Scrambler is a gravel road explorer as Himmy 452 is a ADV & go over dirt,gravel & higher clearance river crossings & do all that alot better than a Scrambler & Himmy has a longer 1st gear which most ADV bikes need & have & 21" front.Basically comes down to what & where you going to be riding.If just going to ride gravel roads the Scrambler be sweet & is very light if drop it on your own can pick it up & good for moto camping & dry dirt roads. If plan to ride more treacherous terrain Himmy is the one as proven recently in India where 3 dudes ride a new Himmy,Triumph 400x,KTM 390 & the Himmy was the best riding to the top of the world 🌎 across all terrains.
Is special but if can't upgrade gold rims to spoked tubeless tyre's might be another colour.White one has tubeless tyre's or you could get panniers & carry tyre inflate cans but one can only inflates one 16" tyre so need 2 cans on you 1¼ can for 18" tyre & 1⅔ for 21" tyre.I got 2 cans of motorbike tyre inflate for Interceptor & still got them & carried them in Leather Trip Machine Messenger bag along with Oxford rain pullover pants 👖 & if get T100 be mounting bag on T100.

Love this bike in the Black and Gold, I have seen one at the Scottish Motorcycle show last month and they look fantastic. The salesman told me you can get the gold tubeless as an extra, but make it the most expensive model, another great video TAYM
Riding this bike in the uk roads bumpy or not is a piece of cake have you Sean the videos on where enfeild tested this bike in indea some bloody rough roads up in the Himalayan mountains bang for buck nothing comes close to it I think, it will sit on the freeway at 120 klm all day and could go more if needed
I thought this myself, I have a 2014 Vstrom in white and when I saw the white Himalayan, I thought "single cylinder Vstrom " especially the tank from the riders view. 👍
Black and gold, think it's a very good colour. My old 94 Transalp had gold wheels and loved them back then, so it's a bit nostalgic for me. One good thing is that the almost new 411 prices are dropped like in half over night.. Good thing if you are looking to buy one of course, if you selling it bad 😁😁 .. The colour options for the higher specs variants are a bit dull. Military colour option or two loud be great. I am going to see the 452 life myself next week on my local moto expo Sofia 2024 .. All the big names will be there. I will passing on some pics from there. The gear ratios are very good on the new one too.. Taller last gear is a must on a bike like that.

A great looking bike as someone else said reminds me of a V-Strom from side view, the screen is small but people say it works well at speeds only time will tell RE have really nailed this one for sure, ride safe and keep them videos coming 😊
Nice colour m8. Great review and another step forward for enfield. Probably for that weight, you'd want some more power, especially over here to cover the open road distances before you get into its off-road abilities

Great video which sums up the Himmy. A bit of a leap for RE into water cooling and DOHC engines . This a mainstream bike now , with wider appeal and more performance. It certainly appeals more to me and would be able to keep up with traffic here and also tackle the numerous gravel roads with ease . The " clock " is reminiscent of a Vincent clock , although it seems a lot has been crammed in there. But quite attractive and unusual. Suspension is important and they haven't scrimped , Showas are good . The old Himmy was a niche market machine and had it's quirks , but it was well loved , I think this new Himmy will pick up the customers who liked the idea of a RE ADV bike but wanted something with a bit more performance. ( like me ) . When the bikes reach the dealers in this far flung corner of the former empire , I'll certainly give one a try .
It's certainly a better looker than its predecessor and I'd hope it would be a bit less rattly once properly run in. It does seem as though maybe they missed a trick by making it prefer high revs, I can't see it beating Saddlebags73's Witch up Angels steps. Either way it's not a bike for me but I'm sure amongst RE fans it'll sell pretty well.

I think you're right TAYM this is going to attract a different kind of buyer to the Triumph 400s. I must admit I preferred the look of the old Himalayan it had that utilitarian look and the crash bars looked better on the old one. The biggest thing against it, for me, is this new ridiculous idea of doing away with a proper tail light. I really think it is dangerous to have the tail light, brake light and indicators all combined in the indicators I want maximum visibility. It's a shame because this would have been a contender for a winter bike but I'll never buy a bike without a proper tail light.
Thanks Mike😁 I had a similar thought and asked them about it. 🤔 I had a Vstrom that had something similar fitted by it previous owner and when it came to mot it failed because of the set up🤔 so I bought some used original lights from a breaker and switched it back. 🤔
Morning Mr TAYM, you couldn’t resist 😂. The brilliant Himi 450, has quite a revvy engine, so you do need to work the gears a bit. The indicator is quite easy to see on the white background option. There is a tiny usb-C under the middle of the handlebars. The engine is definitely not as laid back as the 411, so much more eager, egging you on to open the throttle when you really know you shouldn’t (due to running in) 😂. The looks are subjective, can’t say it’s pretty, but it has retained a certain utilitarian look. Would look better with a couple of soft panniers on the back to hide the expanse of nothingness 🫣😂 in my opinion. I really didn’t find any vibrations anywhere, even up to about 60 ish mph, and like you, I am looking forward to having another go at higher, motorway speeds. There are already stainless de-cat pipes for sale in India 😉, yes I have looked 😂. I must say, I didn’t get the impression that the Himi 450 has grabbed you quite like it did me. If I had any money, I would place a deposit today, as it is, I can’t 😢 Thanks for sharing.
All good things must come to the end. I think they could keep both Himalayan production as both seem to have there own look and feel. But that would be a bad business decision financially. Sounds good, looks OK. As I have stated in many other videos about the Himalayan or the KLR, I think I would go with the KLR now. 😮 maybe in 5 years, see where this one goes.
I like the color scheme...it reminds me of my RSV4 Factory- black and gold! Though I am not an ADV guy - I wonder how this one stands up to the other low capacity ADV bikes? It seems interesting!
Nice one TAYM I am surprised you say it's not comparable to the 400X it does have usb ports just below the handlebars by the mountings for the bars and a built in satnav on the whole I do like the looks .I am surprised at a water cooled engine sounding rattly though not sure I'd like that little feature 😉.Is this going to match the sale of the baby Triumph time will tell they both look very nice and I'm not into off roaders really will the Scram take on a similar look I wonder ?.I do carry a repair kit for myself and any other poor sole who gets stuck with a flat but only for tubeless 😁 Awesome !👌👍
Chuck chunky tyre's on 400x & it'll get you most places but is lower & doesn't have tall 1st gear which is handy off road,river crossings where the Himmy 452 Excell with long 1st gear & 21" front.Also comes down to what you'd use it for just gravel road exploring 400x be excellent if attempting Dusty Butt in South Island Himmy 452 all the way. Also weight comes into it if older or health issues the 400x & you wouldn't be going anywhere to far from the gravel road anyway if that's the case.
It’s a nice bike good value but they need a lowering kit for the shorter riders especially in Asia R-E are missing out of millions of dollars just because of the hight of the seat for shorter riders 805 is still a bit high for some
Image this design with the 650 twin,single swept up exhaust silencer. When braking and indicating in bright sunlight I think those new rear light set up is unsafe but I would have view in person to convince me it’s safe as on camera it looks iffy.
I had similar lights fitted on my Vstrom and it failed the mot because of them 🤔 something about indicators that are integrated with brake lights 🤔 so I was very sceptical about these too🤔 not sure 🤔 thanks Malcolm 😁
Not my sort of bike, but this colour scheme looks attractive. Can't say the same about the tail-light arrangement and I'd suspect that an alternative layout will have to be done to meet the Vehicle Construction and Use regulations here in Oz. This one screams form over function, which is rarely a good option. For me, I'd want a decent stop/tail light, one that is easliy seen by other road users.

Had this bike on order since 2023 Nov.. Test rode dealer demo, amazing bikes but the character of the engine just doesn't suit me, so sadly I've cancelled the order. Shame really, been so excited to get it... and now I'm not. 😔
As far as the colour scheme goes, this black with gold rims is the top 'variant' i.e the most expensive one. The one you're calling beige is the basic one. It goes beige, the two slates with red and blue accents, the grey with sort of a camo print and then the black and gold.
@@logangodofcandy the one with camo and rally is probably the max price, it has additional gaurds and a different seat with a bigger visor and tubeless tyres, hanle Balck with tubes will be less for sure.
The Kamet white is currently the only uk model with tubeless and is currently the most expensive model at £6250. Standard Hanle black tubed £6000. Kaza brown cheapest at £5750
I think it’s a nice looker , maybe the die hards won’t be so keen , is it an off roading contender , be good to see what it’s like on faster roads . Thanks TAYM
Hi, my 1982 440 ltd Kawasaki has self cancelling indicators and a cable from the clutch that pulls up the side stand , some things have gone backwards !!
Hi that is a lovely looking bike in the black /gold you can get tubeless tyres for it but I think they are another £600 according to the bingley wheeler I watched yesterday I’m surprised they put higher crash bars on it as standard most put lower on then you put upper from what I’ve seen I could be wrong but Enfield have got a great selection of bikes in all classes and I hope they do well with this one best of luck to them great little budget bikes better than bldy Chinese anyway hope you are well can’t wait till you get that speedmaster on test ride safe
When riding Simon, the flickering isn’t there as it’s not the speedo as such which is the problem, it’s only down to camera settings when recording, as all us reviewers are discovering after the ride. I am only guessing, but most of us use 30 or 60 fps, but one or two use 25 or 50 fps, which seems to not suffer the same. Next time out, I will try at 50 fps.
The screen from a cockpit pov looks like earth vaders head😂. Watched a few of these reviews. In my book still not enough poke. I would never buy a new bike as there will likely be teethings troubles. I don’t think it’s attractively cheap anymore. I think RE have done a nice job on the looks, some nice components in suspension and brakes and tubed wheels(optional extra). I ve watched a few Indian journos and they have had some minor gremlins. At least RE dealers seem on top. I ve not been on a cf Moto but seem aggressively priced and targeting REriders. I know CF are selling incredibly well in Europe. I am a road rider and there are much better road bikes. Off road and adv clearly one of best bikes on the planet. Still want to see you on a larger scooter for winter TAYM. Let alone the maintenance, the weather protection. No more wet feet. On my xmax250 only my head and shoulders got really wet. 70 cruise and 80+90 mpg. Chassis mainly covered in plastic so less likely rot. Try at least a 300cc. You are very open to anything on 2 wheels and not biased like me. Go on see if a dealer will let you try one!😂
Your tubeless tyres made me chuckle! My Breva 1100, I had a puncture on only the third day of riding.😡 But I’d bought a repair kit! 👍 Only with my eyes there was no way I could read the instructions under the street lights! 🙄🤣
Massive fan of yours but i do wish you would test bikes that have a few miles on the clock lol!. 45 mph you are never going to know what the bike is really like!! Sorry to moan because i think your channel is great fun!!.
It’s hard to get on the latest bike which is already run in unfortunately. The good thing for us, is that we can get to ride them again when they do have a few more miles on the clock 👍
👍👍🏍 really want to like this bike but i,m not sure, in my opinion the only thing lacking on the old one is high speed and if the price for that is a water cooled harsher engine i,m not sure it,s worth it. For me a trail/trials style bike (not adventure or enduro) with the classic 350 engine would be hard to resist. If you want the best adventure/enduro and modern electronics water cooling are not an issue we would all be riding orange bikes 😉. I think royal enfield are the real deal and do old school really well but when you venture into modern/mainstream there is so much more competition.
Evidently the Royal Enfieldness is intact with the water cooled version. What I want to know is, is the multiple rocket launcher still an option? It went so well with the previous Himarlia-layan. The tiny fairing is cute. There is something about tiny bikinis that I can't put my finger on😂😂. Now I know that you are a glass half full kind of guy; a wasp in the helmet is marvellous and a sign that summer is coming 😁😁. Ian had a go on one of those and his version had a USB port, on the handlebars I think. 👍👍
I quite like its looks but am a bit disappointed at the range of colours. The beige, or magnolia as Bingley Wheeler has it, is especially bland IMO. Also, having watched a couple of other test rides, I'm wondering if they haven't acquired the BMW 310 ride-by-wire problem they had on the at low speed on the early models, with their tendency to stall out at low revs. Having said that, it seems it's definitely an improvement performance-wise.
Great for wee monkeys, ok for buffoons, probably not for gorillas 🐵 I'm beginning to like this bike, it looks more purposeful than the Triumph 400 X and would suit my short legs better, but £700 more with tubeless rims, and now there's the Honda NX500. The other consideration is service intervals, inspection at 3000m and full service at 6000m for the Himi, 8000m for the Honda and 10000m for the Triumph. The Triumph is more of a style exercise than a genuine rough roader though so it's probably between the Himi and the Honda, and by the time you spec the two up with luggage etc the Honda will be well over 1k more. The replacement for my GSA is going to be a tough choice, thanks for another dilemma inducing review Mr TAYM.
Sorry but the Triumph as a scrambler just isnt going to cut it when you get these things offroad, the Hymalyan is built for it

The gold is the top model that gets tubeless.

Nice one TAYM I am surprised you say it's not comparable to the 400X it does have usb ports just below the handlebars by the mountings for the bars and a built in satnav on the whole I do like the looks .I am surprised at a water cooled engine sounding rattly though not sure I'd like that little feature 😉.Is this going to match the sale of the baby Triumph time will tell they both look very nice and I'm not into off roaders really will the Scram take on a similar look I wonder ?.I do carry a repair kit for myself and any other poor sole who gets stuck with a flat but only for tubeless 😁 Awesome !👌👍
Chuck chunky tyre's on 400x & it'll get you most places but is lower & doesn't have tall 1st gear which is handy off road,river crossings where the Himmy 452 Excell with long 1st gear & 21" front.Also comes down to what you'd use it for just gravel road exploring 400x be excellent if attempting Dusty Butt in South Island Himmy 452 all the way.
Also weight comes into it if older or health issues the 400x & you wouldn't be going anywhere to far from the gravel road anyway if that's the case.

It’s a nice bike good value but they need a lowering kit for the shorter riders especially in Asia R-E are missing out of millions of dollars just because of the hight of the seat for shorter riders 805 is still a bit high for some

Nice bike, only the "windscreen" is tiny. From the riders view it looks ridiculous imo. Maybe replace that with something bigger.
It does a good job though, no adverse effect on or in the helmet, which a bigger one might produce.
Is there a “touring windscreen” available??
I prefer smaller screens, or no screen to avoid buffeting.

Image this design with the 650 twin,single swept up exhaust silencer. When braking and indicating in bright sunlight I think those new rear light set up is unsafe but I would have view in person to convince me it’s safe as on camera it looks iffy.
I had similar lights fitted on my Vstrom and it failed the mot because of them 🤔 something about indicators that are integrated with brake lights 🤔 so I was very sceptical about these too🤔 not sure 🤔 thanks Malcolm 😁

Not my sort of bike, but this colour scheme looks attractive. Can't say the same about the tail-light arrangement and I'd suspect that an alternative layout will have to be done to meet the Vehicle Construction and Use regulations here in Oz. This one screams form over function, which is rarely a good option. For me, I'd want a decent stop/tail light, one that is easliy seen by other road users.

As far as the colour scheme goes, this black with gold rims is the top 'variant' i.e the most expensive one. The one you're calling beige is the basic one. It goes beige, the two slates with red and blue accents, the grey with sort of a camo print and then the black and gold.
I think the most expensive one would be the rally one which isn't black and gold.
The Hanley black model is the top spec. Maybe they made the base model in what is clearly the base color?
@@logangodofcandy the one with camo and rally is probably the max price, it has additional gaurds and a different seat with a bigger visor and tubeless tyres, hanle Balck with tubes will be less for sure.
The Kamet white is currently the only uk model with tubeless and is currently the most expensive model at £6250. Standard Hanle black tubed £6000.

Hi that is a lovely looking bike in the black /gold you can get tubeless tyres for it but I think they are another £600 according to the bingley wheeler I watched yesterday I’m surprised they put higher crash bars on it as standard most put lower on then you put upper from what I’ve seen I could be wrong but Enfield have got a great selection of bikes in all classes and I hope they do well with this one best of luck to them great little budget bikes better than bldy Chinese anyway hope you are well can’t wait till you get that speedmaster on test ride safe

Itchy Boots took quite a dislike to the flickering of the dashboard and hoped it would be sorted before going into production. I see it hasn't.
When riding Simon, the flickering isn’t there as it’s not the speedo as such which is the problem, it’s only down to camera settings when recording, as all us reviewers are discovering after the ride. I am only guessing, but most of us use 30 or 60 fps, but one or two use 25 or 50 fps, which seems to not suffer the same. Next time out, I will try at 50 fps.
It's camara settings issue not screen issue....
Apparently it's the camera that makes the dash look like it's flickering and if it's adjusted lower the flickering disappears.
The screen from a cockpit pov looks like earth vaders head😂. Watched a few of these reviews. In my book still not enough poke. I would never buy a new bike as there will likely be teethings troubles. I don’t think it’s attractively cheap anymore. I think RE have done a nice job on the looks, some nice components in suspension and brakes and tubed wheels(optional extra). I ve watched a few Indian journos and they have had some minor gremlins. At least RE dealers seem on top. I ve not been on a cf Moto but seem aggressively priced and targeting REriders. I know CF are selling incredibly well in Europe. I am a road rider and there are much better road bikes. Off road and adv clearly one of best bikes on the planet. Still want to see you on a larger scooter for winter TAYM. Let alone the maintenance, the weather protection. No more wet feet. On my xmax250 only my head and shoulders got really wet. 70 cruise and 80+90 mpg. Chassis mainly covered in plastic so less likely rot. Try at least a 300cc. You are very open to anything on 2 wheels and not biased like me. Go on see if a dealer will let you try one!😂

👍👍🏍 really want to like this bike but i,m not sure, in my opinion the only thing lacking on the old one is high speed and if the price for that is a water cooled harsher engine i,m not sure it,s worth it. For me a trail/trials style bike (not adventure or enduro) with the classic 350 engine would be hard to resist. If you want the best adventure/enduro and modern electronics water cooling are not an issue we would all be riding orange bikes 😉. I think royal enfield are the real deal and do old school really well but when you venture into modern/mainstream there is so much more competition.
There is nothing harsh about the 450’s engine. It is buttery smooth, both in feel and how it delivers the power, unlike the agricultural 411.

Evidently the Royal Enfieldness is intact with the water cooled version. What I want to know is, is the multiple rocket launcher still an option? It went so well with the previous Himarlia-layan. The tiny fairing is cute. There is something about tiny bikinis that I can't put my finger on😂😂. Now I know that you are a glass half full kind of guy; a wasp in the helmet is marvellous and a sign that summer is coming 😁😁. Ian had a go on one of those and his version had a USB port, on the handlebars I think. 👍👍

I quite like its looks but am a bit disappointed at the range of colours. The beige, or magnolia as Bingley Wheeler has it, is especially bland IMO. Also, having watched a couple of other test rides, I'm wondering if they haven't acquired the BMW 310 ride-by-wire problem they had on the at low speed on the early models, with their tendency to stall out at low revs.
Having said that, it seems it's definitely an improvement performance-wise.

Great for wee monkeys, ok for buffoons, probably not for gorillas 🐵 I'm beginning to like this bike, it looks more purposeful than the Triumph 400 X and would suit my short legs better, but £700 more with tubeless rims, and now there's the Honda NX500. The other consideration is service intervals, inspection at 3000m and full service at 6000m for the Himi, 8000m for the Honda and 10000m for the Triumph. The Triumph is more of a style exercise than a genuine rough roader though so it's probably between the Himi and the Honda, and by the time you spec the two up with luggage etc the Honda will be well over 1k more. The replacement for my GSA is going to be a tough choice, thanks for another dilemma inducing review Mr TAYM.
