Knowledge of style in Bonsai is very important ? what I like about Peter and his team is ,they encourage you to find the trees style that will work for you, gently pointing/ helping the Doctor find what he likes for his trees.
Both trees are very nice and should grow on to be stunning .
Great video Peter ,coffee drunk now going out to check on my trees and my Koi.

That first tree makes me realize how many plants I overlook when going to retail garden centers looking at different material. I would have taken one glance at that juniper and thought it was just a ground cover plant and not even taken a second to look at the trunk. This might completely change how I shop for plants in the future. Happy New Year Peter, and the whole Heron's team!

Great work on both trees. The first one was tricky with a very crowded trunk area. Once you removed the crossing branches it made the trees eventual view easier to see. I like the way you talk through the process out loud, it catches things we might be thinking as we are watching. Great work as always, and thanks for your help 😃

Thank you, Peter, and the surgeon for opening up my interest in using Juniper in my future bonsai styling options. Living in the Rocky Mountain range there are so many choices of Juniper/Pine material options to work with. Dr Masoud seems to be a rather creative Bonsai enthusiast, it was interesting to see his way of using tools within the creative process.

Its amazing how you and your buddy turned this f'ugly little bush into a beautiful little tree. I'm sure it will look amazing for decades!
Edit: As for tree number two, its amazing how well shaped a piece of material can become, just with time in the field and a pot to keep it from going wild.
This makes me wanna try putting a few trees in the ground to thicken up in the spring, but with a big stone slab under them in the prayer that i can lift them some day.

I think that the Juniper was quite good. It's difficult to decide what to take off. I had a similar problem.
The one is lovely. I think I would have tilted it a bit too the right so that the left side of the crown became the apex and then arrange the branches to suit. I have a literati scots pine I may do that to.

It's risky business. But, if you walk along the interstate, sometimes you can find junipers that have been cut down by the city over the years. They have huge stalks and make great bonsai material.
