can we get a video with stanley perhaps maybe bring him back in a new format like these videos
"Now I'm showing you this entire exchange so you can feel the pain that I felt".
Yes, sir. Yes indeed.
Job done
I felt my soul leave my body around the 12 minute mark.
"Your brother would have saved me!" Hahaha. Thank you for a tour of your local charity shops.
No probs
Hold up, at 8:10 the book store had an entire shelf of books about "ASS RUBBINGS", it feels like the lede got buried here
😆😆😆
I had to do a second take with the thought that the shelf couldn't possibly have said what i read. It did. So funny.
It brings me two memories of public mischief that make me smile..
We had a wooden cowboy silhouette leaning back against the outside wall of a local bar.. somebody made a wooden penis and attached it. It was there for a solid year, right next to the road, before anyone to complain realized.
The other.. When i was in high school my sister crystal and i were out for a walk while visiting cousins a few towns away. It was early morning when we were passing by a fast food restaurant. They had a sign that said, "now hiring closers," and i told my sister to go take the "c" for crystal (she's not daft), she did.. so then the next morning in school, one of my teachers mentioned his drive into work as he was explaining the importance of education... he said he passed by a Mcdonald's and apparently they were "now hiring losers." How random that he lived in that town and just happened to mention that.. i didn't tell him.
Probably had books about stained ass windows, too. Those vaguely sinister places generally do.
Thank you for that, Mr Does.
Tidy. 👍👍👍
@@brianartillery 😆😆😆💩
Came here to mention this. I see you are a wizard of impeccable taste. Carry on, good fellow!
"How many charity shops do you know have chickens in?" Not a question I ever expected to hear.
I love the honesty of going to several shops to get NOTHING!
Can’t even articulate exactly why I enjoy this video, but I really did enjoy it.
Glad you enjoyed!
Thanks for cheering me up with the extra content. Your mind is a treasure trove of creativity in how you put this video together, I laughed at so many moments.
Thank you, Katie
Thankyou Mister Does, I enjoyed being shown round the part of the world where you live. On a unrelated matter that I am not sure how to fit in this comment, I felt terribly pleased with myself for spotting a part in your bag of plastic bits that was the pneumatic stampy thing from a Playmobil building site set that I used to own.
I thought they were Playmobil
I think that Terrain-Spotting is a skill and hobby all its own 👍 Well done.
@@euansmith3699 thankyou I just figured out how to reply so sorry I didn't do it sooner.
@@user-bx5vv6ny4x 😄👍
Love that at 8:08 it says “ass rubbings” on the shelf. You’ve obviously been there before Dan haha 😅 great video
Do more, and I hope the haul is just as paltry every time
I would watch a Dan Does travel show
Dan gets wood in Rochester.
Thanks for the tour, Dan, I enjoyed this. Neat to see a day in the life across the pond.
Any time!
I was hoping for something just like this. More of these along with the building would be excellent!
Good good
Idea for a next one of these: Figure out a build you want to make, then go charity shopping for the bits. You can only work with what you find from that day's shopping for the scratch build. Hard mode would mean you can also only use adhesives, paints, maybe even tools that you find in the shops.
I laughed so much watching this video, please do more 😂 I am going to have to watch this video again with my partner as I need him to have a good laugh too 😂❤
That's great. Thank you
That was super funny, I like the video when you're out and about. It's nice to have a mixture of stuff. Keep up the good work!!!!
Thanks! Will do!
I love "going out in the wild-public" vids. Hope you do more of that, love your stuff sir!
Thanks, will do!
Them little bags of random junk and doodaas can be absolutely fantastic. ;-D
Absolutely relate. There's been some slim pickins in Aussie op-shops these days, even for scratchybuildy stuff.
Hello dan saw your brother three night ago. When watching him, we was thinking about you. Ok now for something that I have bought some time ago. I bought one of those plastic hard hats for children from goodwill. But not sure what to do with. At the time i had military toy hats for boys. The shape was little bit different. So i was planning to make a scratch build ship from it. It got lost. So one day at goodwill seen this hat,but the shape was all wrong. So im just been sitting on this project what to build from it. Maybe in your show maybe you can find something like this and build on it. Between you and your brother. You guys have great imagination. Sure theirs other. But im more impress with you guys and thank you again
I do love your deadpan misanthrope persona 😂
I like people well enough
@@Dan_Does especially that young girl Beth. As long as she doesn't get to cocky at rust effects.
Nice place, Rochester - or "Roster" as we say on the mainland.
"Ass Rubbings" at 8:10 killed me. ;)
These as well, please.
Will do
More wood? Yes please😂😂
I enjoyed the extra content. More charity shops, please!
More to come!
Wow! So lovely to see local chazza shops on The Tube! Rochester is one of my regular charity shop haunts.
Back off! It's mine!
@@Dan_Does 😆😆😆 we can share nicely… I’m pretty sure the stuff you’re after is very different to mine.
Better be! 😋 @@TwoFourJoy
Well that was enjoyable. Thank you Dan for the virtual day trip.
Thanks for watching
In my very early twenties I used work in a charity shop. If I knew people were looking for specific things I would keep them for them and thus whenever I was working the takings were higher on my days.
We all loved it... More please 😀😀😀👍
Will do
This was delighftul and entertaining. Love "thrift" videos, would love to see more!
Thank you! Will do!
I enjoy both your shopping and buildings
I enjoyed this and would not be one bit disappointed seeing it kept on the mix.
I don't get out often, or do much travel these days, so it's nice to get a glimpse of another part of the world through your eyes. I like to see what England looks & feels like in shopping along with you. (I'm subscribed to a guy who shops through US stores for Halloween decor. It's great.) I can't believe how many charity shops you have nearby!
I have a fantastic local thrift store in PA, USA, near my mother. They have the best system in place, using colored tags. Every week, they put out new items with a new colored tag at full price. Then, last weeks items start getting reduced to 75% off the next week, to 50% and 25%, then 75cents to 50, 25, all the way down to 10 cents, so that everything is always constantly getting cleared out and refreshed.
No doubt, I've spent at least $10-20k on low priced art supplies over the last decade (mostly yarn and fabric, but also tools and paint, etc.). I am so thankful for it, and so spoiled, buying stuff for 10 & 25 cents! I've been to those other over priced stores that would've charged $3 for that jar of wood shapes!
It did used to be taboo for upper classes to shop at a thrift store, as it was seen only for the poors, but it all went to hell when celebrities started making it cool to get bargains there.. now most shops don't care to help people in their communities, they care about how much profit they can make. So sad.
Thanks for the many words 😄
@@Dan_Does 🤣 (sorry!)
You are among the most British men I have ever known of. I would normally hate the English, but you've committed to your role so thoroughly that I cannot help but to respect you. Well done!
This vid was fun! I’d definitely watch more of these 😁
Cheers, Buddy!
^O^ I used to have that TOMY Robot when I was a kid!! I forgot all about it until I saw it on your video.
Still works. I love it.
Love a good charity shop adventure, always keep my eye out for potential hobby bits and bobs.
I’d definitely watch more of these.
Carry on being awesome and take care.
Awesome, thank you!
Having moved about a bit here in America I've seen all sorts of charity shops, mostly big brand names, but some mom&pop places as well. In my latest living arrangement there's only about four locally, but in one I found actual diorama supplies (turf and foliage) and they were really cheap so that was nice. To do a video like this, though, I'd have to go back three moves or drive over 300 miles to a big enough city to do some hopping at Goodwill or Savers/Value Village. Good video and nice to see around your neighborhood. Thanks!
Mate, that is so funny. Got to be the best charity shop hunt on The CZcams🤣🤣🤣
Cheers buddy!
You could make a series out of it. Visiting local towns and their charity shops.
'Dan Does Dartford', etc.
A bit like those documentary films.
If I could drive.
@@Dan_DoesAh. Dan, On the Buses?
Starting to sound like Alan Partridge brainstorming TV show ideas
@@Dan_Does Use the train 👍 (its like a big communal car that someone else drives between all the towns).
That was pleasant. Definitely a video. I was indeed entertained.
Glad to hear it!
I enjoyed this. we could even go to the pond shops. that would be cool.
It's like playing myself in an a FPS with no gun.
Ha
Shops hunt GOOD! More shops hunt! 😁
I hope to never find myself so lost that I must subsist off of spine dew, I mean I can barely tolerate Mountain Dew.
Great video, but of nostalgia too as I used to spend a lot of time hanging around the castle as a youth 😂
Nice
You cracked me up with the mile joke 🤣
Oh, this should be fun to watch while I’m working on decluttering the house so I can bring a few bags to the charity/thrift shop, but am saving everything I can on the “it’ll be great for scratch building” excuse.
So that'll be everything then
I've been dying for someone to make a vid like this for so long! Whenever I'm in a charity shop i feel soooo lost looking for scratch building stuff
This was kind of cool, wish you had better luck dude.
I enjoyed that. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is fun.
Would love to see you make some more buildings of these stacking cups. Loved that video!
The dice are for a game called Liar’s Dice. Very fun and worth a try
Found you through digitiser. This was a class video, hope you and Digi do some more videos together. The ones with you are hilarious 😂
Awesome! Thank you!
i like content like this a lot
Lol you weren't kidding about the algorithm. I'm still not getting notifications for your uploads. I get them from other channels. Gonna enjoy watching this with the bird.
Bloody algorithm
That biplane could have been neat
glad you did one of these kinds of videos my friend. hope you are doing well.
Thanks, you too!
That left arm is impressive.
I really enjoyed it, Dan. You are kinda inspiring me to try scratch building. Next time try speaking about the colors you use. Keep with the great work
Noted!
This was a nice little change of pace. I'd love to see more videos like this in the future. The Candy Bar bit cracked me up hahah
Glad you enjoyed it!
I enjoyed this, particularly the fancy editing.
Looking forward to your upcoming Poker Dice Tutorials.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I do enjoy these sorts of vidoes, and you make it fun. I just wished you had a better haul day. But keep doing these.
Me too
I really enjoyed this video
Glad you enjoyed it
Supreme Video, Mister Does!
Thank you
How fun Dan! Thank you!
Any time!
@@Dan_Does FINE. I’ll join the patreon. Fine.
@@Dan_Doesyou are now officially the reason i have patreon despite being on CZcams before patreon ever existed.
I shall be eternally grateful!@@unsinkablemedusa9914
Great video!
So the whole going off the bridge into the water and who would you save, reminds me of the movie I, Robot.
Where the robot analyzed that the main character had a better chance of living vs the little girl he wanted to save.
Hopefully that will never happen to anyone.
Great selection of sci fi books!
If you ever find a copy of the Battletech book “The Sword and the Dagger” by Ardath Mayhar, it’s worth around $100.
I enjoy the thrift shops here in Nashville TN.
You learn quickly what shops to avoid.
More more more, I love this.
Everyday I have a bad day I just watch Dan and it makes my day sunny. Go get that crap oh yeah crap getting
You could make a video about eating breakfast and still somehow make it entertaining. I would love to see more like this!
Lovely compliment. Thank you.
i'm quite happy for you to throw in the odd rummaging for gold video :)
Good good
Indeed, it is a nice change, and shows how to safely interact with the denizens of the Charity Dimension.
Oh man Bobby Fingers is a ptaron. everyone should go to that channel right now. he's incredibly talented and so funny. the dioramas are fire
Hi. I made THIS video.
These videos, plus regular craft videos, plus Dark Souls lore vids, please.
Haha, the lore vids may be a problem
Ah, the memories. Worked at Rochester Castle in the mid90s and camped in the grounds. We built a wooden “castle” in front of the real one, then spent a long weekend fighting around it, finally pulling it down, all for the entertainment of Medway’s locals.
When you come to Kansas City Missouri USA, we will take you to Blessings Abound. This is one of the best and then we get grilled cheese sandwich at Denny;s.
I did enjoy this Dan.
I'm glad
Shoutout to Piers Anthony and his Xanth series. (And Dan too, I suppose)
Dan, you rock! 👍
Thank you!
I like the charity shop adventures, and seeing what you do with a few of the items in future vids. Blandco does similar.
I don't know who Blandco is?
@@Dan_Does Blandco is another gamer crafting CZcamsr.
I enjoyed this! Now you know.
I'll watch more of these
Bobby fingers! Another great channel
Delightful
I quite enjoyed this
As a frequent chazza-botherer myself I very much enjoyed this video, and was particularly impressed with your Very Posh Oxfam.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'd love more of these!
Maybe a challenge where you can only do a build with stuff you pick up?
Defo
To be fair, grandmother would sacrifice you to save her grandbaby too 👍
I would hope so
I enjoy this quite a bit. Jolly good work Dan
Thank you 😀
Just watched this video. My first thought was why has Bill from Bill Making Stuff changed his name to Dan and started a new channel? Then I remembered that Bill doesn't go out in daylight. Great video! Lets have more like this. Best quote: Dinnerware of the Dead!
This was Terrible, charity shop hell. MORE MORE 🎉
1 mile is about 4,800 bald eagles. hope that helps, cheers from the states!
Thank you
I prefer the crafting videos (kind of missing the horror-based sculpts!) but you're charming enough to watch shop as well, so, you do you.
Timmy weed on that patch of grass under the tree Dan.
Great video! Would love to see more of these!
Also the poker dice case would make a great coffin for a very skinny cadaver.
Thanks! Will do!
6:18 you said "Rochester Castle" like that Star Wars guy with beer belly from memes says "Polynesian Spa".
This time the zeros were delicious.
My favorite ARC thrift store doesn't have chickens. I'll write them a suggestion card.
Please do
You missed the big Cancer Research shop in Strood retail park. 200 yards from that community shop. On the same retail park are hobbycraft and poundland.
I know it, just didn't bother.
best tourism video ever
