Universal - A Concert Film by Lasse Hoile
In May 2012 Anathema released 'Weather Systems', the most acclaimed and successful album of the band's celebrated career. The album scored high in numerous critics end of year polls around the world and cemented the band's reputation as one of the most exciting and progressive band around.
Following the release of the album the band embarked on a lengthy tour. The European leg opened with a triumphant one-off show at the ancient Roman theatre of Philippopolis with the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra in September 2012. This incredible show was documented by acclaimed filmmaker Lasse Hoile (Steven Wilson, Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Dream Theater), the stunning results of which will be released as Universal.

There are some bands you discover for a reason. This is one of them. Simply amazing
Anybody can say that this song is about loss. Most will argue that its about the loss of a lover. What I feel when I listen to this is a connection to the ones who have departed, my uncles, grandparents and their continuous presence in my life because I can still feel that specially in the moments of hardship. Turning 30 today I came back to this video to thank anathema for putting this eternal feeling into a song and just be grateful for how good this years treated me. I’ve seen them in Lisbon for the first time in the beginning of March for the last concert of the tour (unfortunately), it was a real close moment for us all there, I felt I was watching a group of my friends play, and they finished with this song. Couldn’t hold the tears. Thanks for the moments and may you keep playing for years to come

An absolutely cast-iron world class act who can reduce grown men and women with the sheer and absolute beauty and power of their music. The Douglas's and Cavanaghs are simply unmatched by any other band in the world today, even U2 and The Rolling Stones.

I could only watch this without sound, I have to wait until the disc is in my player to experience this fully for the first time. Anathema are the greatest band that too many people have never heard of.
Not much to say here, but thanks to this band for hangin-in-there. I've been following them for many years now. I saw them live in Buenos Aires en 2006. Magnificent band, Yesterday I bought this DVD to support the band because I want them on stage for as long as possible. I would love to see them live in the UK. Simply exquisite.

Probably one of my Top 5 bands of all time these guys. Love it all.
Basically the only band i still listen to, to all songs, but mostly these ones from the last era.. Stopped listening to Dream Theater, even the old songs. Opeth, i still listen to, but basically only the old songs. The Gathering, stopped listening to the new songs, only the old songs. Symphony X sadly do not really make new music anymore. I love Piah Mater, but no new material. I also really like In Mourning.

this song reminds me of my beloved father who strugled for over 2 years against a throat cancer that finally beat him on january 1st 2015. it certainly takes me down but still brings back lots of beautiful memories and images ... thank you anathema for this masterpiece.

Just watching this video is making the hair on my neck stand up and sending shivers across my entire body. I can only imagine what it was like for the people who were there.
