Turkish Airlines Flight 981 was a scheduled flight from Istanbul Yeşilköy Airport to London Heathrow Airport, with an intermediate stop at Orly Airport in Paris1. On March 3, 1974, the McDonnell Douglas DC-10 operating the flight crashed into the Ermenonville Forest, outside Paris, killing all 346 people on board1. The crash was also known as the Ermenonville air disaster1. The crash occurred when an incorrectly secured cargo door at the rear of the plane burst open and broke off, causing an explosive decompression that severed critical cables necessary to control the aircraft1. To maximize the working space within the cargo hold, the cargo doors opened outwards, making them vulnerable to being forced open at high altitudes under normal in-flight pressure1. To prevent this, a special latching system was used that locked shut under pressure when properly closed1. Flight 981 was the deadliest plane crash in aviation history until 27 March 1977, when 583 people died in the collision of two Boeing 747s in Tenerife1. It remains the deadliest single-aircraft accident without survivors, the second hull loss and the deadliest accident involving the McDonnell Douglas DC-10, and the deadliest aviation accident to occur in France.
My eardrums blew out but I want to say that Turkish airlines flight 981 crashed because of rapid de compression of a cargo door and crashed shortly after but the captain actually screamed speed it's just that you don't know some of us might not know Turkish so we don't know the words that they're saying
bro whats funny your disrespectful the cabin explode sound alarmed the pilots that the cabin exploded so they pull up, over hundreds of people died here and your making fun of the sound, your such a big disgrace

They could’ve saved it if the pitch was just a little more sensitive. But still, R.I.P. to that door that flew off and all of the victims, including the poor plane
I believe the flight engineer Huseyin ozer was the one who said that. ACI made a mistake during their re-enactment having copilot ulusman describe the hydraulic quantity

Reconstruction. I think that the air was so loud that almost no one could understand what theyw were saying. Now this is the best reconstruction to the actual cvr. Thats the 1st theory. The 2nd for me is that maybe the cvr stopped (prob not) but it has happened. Examples are flight 102, dhl 611 (technically flight 611 had an impact but it was a mid air collision) flight 587 (i forgot if it did fail or it was just unreleased).
There’s no such thing as an “original” pull up voice. The airline selects what GPWS module they will use when they order the aircraft. In this case, they ordered what i believe is a Honeywell GPWS module, which is commonly used by Boeing on the old 747-100 and 747-200. It was also used on some DC-10s as you can tell here.
The pilot should definitely make the speed slow it’s gonna be easy while pulling up but with speed it will be hard (I think and not hating and btw rip🕊️🪦💔)
It was 50 years ago today. RIP to the passengers and crew.

Why does it seem that the pilots are chilled
They are trained to be calm in most advert situation.. calm mind can make correct decision..panic mind would make everything worse .
You should try watching GOL 1907 flight Cvr the captain is vey calm until they end up crashing

If it was the ACTUAL CVR then the pilots would have sounded scared and shouted “SPEED! SPEED!” at the end.

If the flaps had been stopped, the plane could have been saved from diving downwards, but why didn't the pilots do this?

They lost all the hydrulics
I wonder why they seem to be so calm, is it because of bad quality audio or they just was so surrealistically calm?
It's probably because it's been replicated in the CVR transcripts using flat voices.

Cargo door explosion made cabin explode, and this cutted hydraulics cables and it caused crash.
