Alright show the Yamaha mg has a built-in compressor all run a few microphones a few guitars maybe some keyboards saxophone trumpet clarinet non-electric banjo violin

Is it possible to put compression on groups on the MGP mixers?

The MGP Mixer features a compression on the stereo buses alone but not on the groups. It is not possible to use compression on the group buses with the MGP series mixer. A suggestion might be to get utilize channel dedicated compression to achieve a more tonally smooth mix to be sent to the group bus or upgrade your unit to a TF-1
