I'm surprised you didn't mention possibly the biggest easter egg of them all: the film Title itself! _"Rogue One."_ Notice in Empire Strikes Back.. _"Rogue Two"_ was the snowspeeder pilot who rescued Han & Luke on Hoth. That pilot was part of Rogue Squadron (aka Rogue Group), which was created & led by Luke Skywalker himself (hear his callouts when they battle the AT-ATs). The Rogue Squadron took their name directly from the honored legacy of "Rogue One" and its success.
When I went to the theater to see Rogue One, I actually didn't know or expect any of the original characters to be in it, so I was quite surprised when Darth Vader entered the scene, and not afraid to say a bit freaked out when Grand Mof Tarken showed up. The way the final scene coincided with the opening scene in the original film thrilled me to no end.
Not gonna lie; I was stoked when Red and GOLD (not Yellow) Leader appeared while seeing the movie opening night. Later learning how they found unused footage from Star Wars to bring them to the scene at Scarif was the icing on the cake. Now if we can figure out who the 2nd VCX-100 was at Scarif- we know one is the Ghost, but the second...?
Parts of Scariff Base were filmed on the platform of Canary Wharf London Underground station. Most of the scenes filmed there were cut from the theatrical release but it's blindingly obvious in the early trailers
So Bail Organa departs Yavin in the Tantive IV, leaving behind Threepio and Artoo. But the duo were on board the Tantive at the beginning of A New Hope. Did Organa remember they left the droids and turned the ship around? “Oh nuts! We forgot Laurel and Hardy. Better go back and get them or else next movie is going to be real short.”
Watching the movie in the theater, I had a Mandela Effect moment, because I didn't see certain parts shown in the trailers. Did I see what I thought I saw? How could I? What an uneasy feeling.
Things I may have missed in Rogue One: the names of the blind dude and his big gun toting friend. Had to look it up afterward. Chirrut and Baze. Okay then.
I absolutely rank this a my #1 SW movie (then Jedi, then Force awakens -this would start fights back in the day) but that shot at 3:59 is breath-taking still for a nerd like me.
Or, Red 5 (such as Red 1-9) is used as squad member designations for any member in any squad as Gold 1-9 or Blue 1-9 so the SL's can give orders without having to resort to names. Wich meens any members can be replaced, sick, dead or what ever reason. It's simply a designation, it has no real meening! :)
That wasn’t a clone turbo tank it’s a imperial version it’s bigger then the clone wars one as well as mando season 2 used even a longer yet not as tall one
Did the evil Doctor leave before the destruction of Jehda City? Also, C3PO and R2 should have been on the ship with Leia and not standing around at Yavin 4.
I mean, the Doc kinda had to- chances are, he didn't stick around any place too long. Though yeah, I agree about the droids- hells, they should've already been long gone, since Leia went with Raditz before everyone else left.
Number 10 = I hate it when things in a trailer are not in the movie, especially if the missing footage was a primary reason why I went to see the film. 🤦 The sight of the protagonist standing off against a TIE fighter was the top reason why I went to see Rogue One on opening day. The movie was still great, but I felt cheated by the numerous differences between the movie and the trailers. Down right false advertising in my book. 😡
Or the Mothma/Jyn back and forth: "This is a rebellion, isn't it? I rebel." (Not to mention the fight on the beach, with the troopers in the water... know we lost some good pew pew and maybe even more squad tactics.)
@@Sephiroth144 Some people didn't like that "I rebel" exchange, so I figured it was removed late in the game. Still, that just adds to the missing trailer content pile. I like the line though. 🤔
there were a lot of reshoots for this movie, thanks to KK thinking the original cut was too dark....those reshoots happened after the first teaser I believe which would explain why so many shots in that did not appear in the final movie
This movie was absolutely stunning. If one modern movie can be said to stand up with the original trilogy and make up for the prequels (which I actually enjoyed the prequels when new and now) this is the one. And, by itself, is better than all three sequel movies, combined. The entire cast was amazing in this movie, the writing was amazing and I genuinely cared about every character, especially K-2SO, by the end of the movie. And Vader at the end....yeah I was giggling the whole time. And when I got my hands on the movie for myself, yeah... I replayed that part a few times.... And I would like to say that in just ONE, SINGLE, MOVIE, we got a better strong female character in Jyn, than we got in Rey for 3 movies. The cast of the sequels was excellent, I will never hate on the cast and those that did can get bent. My problem was the horrible writing, terrible attention to detail such as fight choreography, and ruining what should have been an EPIC return of Darth Sidious. Jyn Erso, Ahsoka Tano, and absolutely Princess Leia..... Well written, strong female characters. Rey, 3 movies that were to me, worse than "meh" and they had SO much potential. And it irritates me how badly written Fin is too. Just, the whole movies were bad. Cast, brilliant. Movies, garbage. Sorry. TL:DR Rogue One is an absolutely glorious Star WARs movie, and the entire cast, all of the characters were amazing.
The only thing missed is things not seen in cartoons I have no interest in. I did not miss any branches of continuity put in so the movie doesn't suck harder than Obi Wan on Disney, which created huge plot holes.
I really like the video but I was wondering, why doesn't Hollywood get it. When dealing with an Iconic series like Star Wars Certain things must happen. Like the Wilhelm Scream, you know it going happen. It has to happen. Right? Prime example Star Trek, the original series. If a Red Shirt is it the landing party, (especially if it's the first party of the show) He's Dead. You don't know who, don't know when but it's going to happen. It's in the script. It's just the way the logic in that universe works. If it doesn't happen, well... It's just not the real thing. It's just some fake trying to sale it's self off as the real thing. Kinda like, THE WITCHER SERIES. It wants to be all all the original was but it's not, it's just a fake.
Hollywood doesn't get it because they think their audience is a bunch of dumb clapping seals. And they for the most part are now correct. Because they've now lost the majority of the original fanbase. They now have a fanbase of majority clapping seals that can't wait to consume next product.
If you're big enough fan of the original trilogy to watch this video and missed the red five being destroyed then you're not a big enough fan of the Star Wars series to be watching this video LOL that one's as obvious As It Gets
Yeah, this is gonna sound rude, cause we star wars fans are idiots and really needed a title card for Mustafa. It is the only free flow vulcanic planet mentioned in canon so really you think we really needed one, and that I'm not smart enough to work out Darth Vader is about to make his entrance.
Anything we missed was because we were so damn bored, we were more interested in how much longer we had to endure watching it rather than what was going on in the movie.
Seriously? Well I can confidently say speak for yourself, as I and most others posting on this thread rate this film up there with the OT . I guess haters gonna hate.

still the best SW movie Disney could ever make. K2's sacrifice in this film >>>> 3PO's in Rise
Absolutely.
Yeah but it's still boring af in my opinion.

The only one of these I was unaware of was the cave paintings of Kaiju on Jedha.
K2 is definitely my favorite droid, with chopper being my second fave
I believe everyone noticed the lack of the opening crawl in Rogue One, a Star Wars Story.

The wilhelm scream is still better than all of the sequels.
I thought the “black saber” reference was a nod to the Darksaber battle station from the EU.
With the exception of the original trilogy, this is my favorite movie of the franchise
Sadly, Drewe Henley died on 14th February 2016, so he never saw his unused footage - nor his surname finally spelled correctly in the end credits!

The wilhelm scream is featured around 1hr 4 mins when Jyn pulls a stormtrooper off a platform on Eadu
I was pleasantly surprised when Grand Moff Tarkin showed up.

I don't remember if the first planet we see where Jyn and family are, is listed with a title either.
That was Rian Johnson's way of getting his name associated to a good Star Wars movie on IMDB.
I like Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Yes, RogueOne is up there with the original trilogy.
As I recall the decision not to do an opening crawl for Rogue One was because it *was* the opening crawl from Episode IV.
Now that IS something I missed!
