In search of the Aloha vibe on Oahu, Hawaii

PART 1
In this video, we share with you a brief look back on the last 20 years of trips to the Hawaiian islands and our most recent time in 2022 - a mellow visit on the island of Oahu, Hawaii in search of some aloha vibes.
We hiked a couple trails not far from Waikiki but they felt like a quiet tropical oasis away from bustling Waikiki beach. The Aiea loop trail is an 8km moderate trail and is an easy warm up hike with some great overlooks onto the H3 highway cutting through the Koolau Mountain Range.

The Waahila Ridge trail is a little more difficult, and is rated hard, about 10km return.

Both of these trails had ample free parking and basic but clean restrooms. Note, there were signs in the parking lot that warned of car break-ins so heed them and remove any valuables from your car.

@@YYZWanderers In one of the frames there is a quick shot of what looks like a concrete wave with a surfboard. Would you mind sharing where that is ? It cute and I’ve not seen it before.

@@RR-tn8fw Luv that wave too! It was taken in Hale’iwa, Oahu north shore but over 20 years ago, I don’t know if its still there. Maybe one of the old timers there may remember it if you ask around.
