I've been a huge W.A.S.P fan since since the mid 80's. They haven't always been Christian in fact for most of their career they've been pariahs to the Christian establishment for their music. The songs and guitar solos have always been awesome. I still believe Blackie Lawless has the best voice in Metal!

You said it, brother. I've known these guys for nearly all my life. The Lord called to them and they bowed and called him their holy risen king. Better late than never. They regret the truly sinful songs of their earlier years. But now they are greater than ever. LEGENDARY!!!

Love this song. Actually it's written about the 'thief' on the cross: his last moment in life (speaking with Christ), Notice in the video that when the thief turns his head, he sees Christ hanging next to him (the thief's perspective). The lyrical and visual creativity in this vid is amazing. 'Remember me when you come into your Kingdom' - the thief

I don't consider myself as a Christian, but rather as a believer in Yeshua (Jesus) ... a Messianic Jew than a Christian... Blackie Lawless is a man of faith. I support WASP to allow him to reflect on his personal life. I was never a fan of WASP but I am a fan of this song.

Golgotha is another name for Cavalry, where Jesus was crucified. A really awesome song for sure. Wasp is not a christian rock band. Especially if you listened to some of their earlier music. However, I think the lead singer really came into his own later on. I have been a fan for a long time and while the early stuff was awesome, the ballads he has done in more recent years have been awesome as well.

Lead singer, and band founder, Blackie Lawless was raised in a strict Christian household but as a young man he strayed from his religious roots and formed the band W.A.S.P. which was a pure shock rock band, in the 80's, performing such songs as "Animal (F*ck Like a Beast)", "Wild Child" and "The Headless Children". It wasn't until later in life that Blackie, after years of drug abuse and negative life experiences, returned to his faith. The band is NOT, strictly speaking, a "Christian Band", however Blackie has allowed his renewed faith to heavily influence their most recent recordings. If you are interested in "Christian Bands", of the harder variety, I would suggest "Skillet", "Red", Demon Hunter" and "Extol".

Wat. If you think anyone hasn't hear of Jesus at this point considering how much christians like to prattle on about their faith you're blind to the reality that many of us are happy to not partake in your religion. Doesn't god forgive all? If that's the case we have nothing to fear anyway, so why subscribe to some religious organization lording aniquated interpretations of even more antiquated books over people at any opportunity.
You're a good example of what is wrong in organized religion 'now there is no excuse they didn't know on judgement day' is basically just gloating at how all the people who don't subscribe to your faith will suffer somehow, that doesn't sound very much like 'love thy neighbor', friend.
I'm happy for Blackie, and anyone else who is faithful to whatever religion, if his faith is providing the support structure he needs to go on, but any organized religion is still the definition of Unholy Terror.
Thank you, everyone's been informed, pretty much everyone is happy to turn the other cheek and ignore you exist, the ones interested in converting don't need you to sell it to them.

This comment has nothing to do with the song you just reviewed but I put it here because it’s the most recent song that I thought you might be reading these comments I know that you loved Aretha and George Michael together and I know that you really liked Annie Lennox with David Bowie doing under pressure but I don’t know if you knew that Annie Lennox also did a huge hit with Aretha “sisters are doing it for themselves” so you have to listen to that - it’s a female anthem 👍

W.A.S.P is not a Christian rock band, mater of fact they started in the 80’s as the exact opposite. They did a lot of nasty things onstage and had some songs that were very un-Christian like. They also had some really great music, Wild Child is a good song, I Wanna Be Somebody also a good song. If you go back to their beginnings you’ll find a song called F*ck Like A Beast, not Christian at all.
    Stay cool 😎 and…

Blackie Lawless is now a Christian and no longer performs certain songs, such as Animal. He also no longer does things on stage that he used to. The last 2 albums Babylon and Golgotha have songs dealing with his beliefs.

The song Babylon has to do with the antichrist, the mark of the beast, and the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse as mentioned in the book of Revelation. Golgotha was the hill Christ was crucified on. On the Babylon album, he also has a song Godless Run. In an interview, he said he had run as far as he possibly could from God but now has returned to Him

    Sorry but...
Blackie going all uber religious was the downfall of this band! Nothing against religious beliefs (as long as those beliefs are kept in your home in private)... When religion creeps into hard rock and metal, the careers of those bands are over!
