Thanks for the video. The 2X 4X settings you spoke of are filter correction adjustments. Since the CdS cell is not TTL you have to use this lever to correct the exposure values when using filters. Yellow would be 2X and Green 4X. The lever on the front of the camera that you did not mention is a self timer.

It blows my mind how few views and subscribers you've got, considering your frequent upload schedule and the quality of your videos. They're concise, to the point, clear, without a lot of guff.

I totally agree! (Although he did spend 10% of the video discussing weather this time ;) )

The exposure compensation settings are meant to be used to adjust for filters you may have on the lens.

I do own a Demi EE 17 and love it for the looks :-)
Mine has red Leather covers wich compliment the Design and make it look quite Modern.
The Housing comes apart in a front upper and a front lower Part, visible when removing the
    Leather.
The little Lever you where wondering about is indded a Exposure Compensation when using Filters on the Lens.
Canons (and many others) Filters have Numbers on them like 4x or 2x sometimes 1.5x or even 6x.
So the Lever does open up the Aperture in Automode 2x or 4x or none on the Green Dot.
Great Lens but difficult to work with in wide Open Aperture Settings due to having no real Focusing Aid other than raw Estimates :-)
A wonderful and very uniqe Camera!
    Cheers, Marc

I took mine to bits by stripping the leather , clean it and decided to replace leather with olive wood veneer … looks stunning now … great video

My understanding is that the exposure compensation switch is to correct the exposure for various filter factors. Unlike many of the other cameras of the period, half frame & otherwise, the meter cell is not enclosed within the lens barrel where the filter would affect the light reaching the cell.

I've been trying to bring one of these back to life over Christmas break. Started with a stuck winder, a shutter that wouldn't cock and shutter blades that were permanently stuck open. I had it working PERFECTLY for about 2 minutes until the shuttle blades basically exploded. It was heart breaking. One of the mounting screws from the back of the shutter assembly came loose and allowed the blades to basically become unseated. I haven't given up but I need to now take the lens off from the back which I'm not sure the best way to go about...

You can also use "675" size zinc-air hearing aid batteries. much cheaper and with the same 1.35 even current drain till end (2 to 5 months) fill out the camera's compartment with A metal "bowl" adapter or A rubber "o"-ring washer.

  • @Jason_MotoPhotoAdventures

The x2 and x4 little slider is for filter compensation, I believe.

That exposure compensation lever. Possible that it works the same way my nikon fg that has a button that you can press to add +2 stops to the exposure? So when you have heavily backlit subject you can quickly compensate?
