Wow, I've watched it already few times, and it's amazing! Fantastic live-action adaptation! I can't wait for the next season! Love the action, adventure, drama, the emotional twist, fantasy, and comedy-all in one! Amazing cinematography, amazing special effects, those animals, spirit animals just amazing, and their powers, the visuals look great and the backgrounds look fantastic! They're all amazing! Gordon is a brilliant actor for his young age, and he is so cute; he has a million-dollar smile too. Dallas is a versatile actor, he's amazing actor. Kiawentiio and Ian are amazing too. Paul, and Daniel are very good too. All the cast members are really doing a great job. Congratulations! This is the best live-action adaptation of Avatar the Last Airbender so far!♥️

The changes are obviously welcoming but I was expecting to see more of Aang's past and the wiping out of air nomads. At least 1 episode dedicated for it would have given ample time for the build up. It felt like it was rushed. They didn't want to copy paste the animated series as it is. The OG creators had excluded visual references of the genocide against air nomads for a purpose as it was meant to be a kids show.
But in netflix without such restrictions they could have explored it much deeper and it would have been fresh for us as well.
Characterisation of main characters honestly didn't work out for me. And there is no suspense at all in the writing. Everything was just direct and linear.
Apart from these, rest all looks good.
I agree. Og show has a plot that slowly develops and unfold. There’s a motive for everything that happens. The spiritual side is eloquent and serves a purpose to a greater scheme.
This live action one be like okay we here in the journey but how do we get there, solution is to cram everything in one episode, using shortcuts. It just feels soooooo rushed.

Big difference is that Millie wasn't portraying an already established and beloved character. Gordon has a lot of expectations to live up to.

The show is getting hate and I can understand why. Obviously I don’t care if it doesn’t follow the source material that’s just a given for any adaptation however. The things they did change were very crucial to the shows story and makes the live action feel very rushed and all over the place making it almost feel like a cheap parody or fan made show.
