How the FUCK did this song NOT WIN??? Even the staunchest fans of other songs must deep down believe that she had FULLY the best song and best live performance!!! Not to say that the winning song is bad, because Claudia is a very good singer, but COME ON! Such a heartfelt performance and wonderful song, this would have swept away most of the competition in Kiev. So disappointed.
Unfortunately, the Maltese vote for the singer and not the song. Because this was Claudia's 9th participation, and it was her turn. I like Claudia, but Breathlessly is a fair song, it's nice but safe. Will not win Eurovision in a thousand years.
There is absolutely zero debate that Claudia is a great singer - she is one of the best singers on the island and her song is also good. However, both Pure and When It's Time were better than Breathlessly. This is the Eurovision SONG contest, not the Eurovision ARTIST contest. Malta would have gotten a top 5 finish in 2012 had Pure represented the country, another top 5 finish had Golden represented Malta last year and probably a top 3 finish had Kewkba won this year. Such a shame.
God, this was so good! The song sounds very sophisticated and of high quality and her voice is great! This is one of those performances that give you chills.

I was there on the day and to be honest I don't know what happened. The whole theatre gave her a standing ovation.. she deserved it, it was truly beautiful. Gives me goosebumps, I had to hold back my tears. Still so confused how she placed 2nd, she's the true winner!!

The song is about a star that is always there in the dark blue skies that Janice is looking up to, wanting to be near, guides her wherever she wants and lights up her paths. Obviously it is used metaphorically as the star is representing a dear one that passed away.

Not a Eurovision fan but this year i got invited by a friend to the show. My opinion is that no other song beats Kewkba. Food for thought... I believe that most of us vote for a song just because the song is sang by our fans, friends, family members or just because the singer has been trying for an x number of times and that it should be his/her turn. Even though it may be a very nice gesture to do so, such attitude will not give us a chance to win the Eurovision. On the other hand If we all vote for our favorite song, we can truly show our best talents and possibly even get us in the chance to win the Eurovision. Thanks.

Honestly, Malta has never been a country that i like in the ESC because is too cliche, i only been pleased for they songs during the period of 2012-14, but hell, finally i find a song that i loved from Malta, Janice gave me so many emotions in her act and it's so discouraging that she was so near to win, only by 500 votes. Seriously, this song really transported me to the traditional Malta. It was fair and necessary in the ESC, no matter which place she got it, if qualify or not, it was to show the soul and spirit of the country (the ESC need some of this urgently) And seriously, it's a sadness to see this - It's the first song entirely in Maltese in this decade of the MESC preselection - It will be 45 years without listening a song in maltese in the ESC I hope this will be a window to see more songs in maltese appear in the preselection and compete to win and represent their own country, but not only ballads and traditional music, obviously another styles more modern and diverse All my love from Baja California, MX💭 ❤ P.S. 1.
