Bro They named it JP cuz the encap tech was actually invented by Japanese company’s called moon star . When new balance made 320 model , they didn’t have the encap sole system . Then the moon star reached out to new balance trying to selling them their products by mailing a pair of moon star shoes . The owner of new balance tried em on and was amazed so he used and purchased the encap tech from moon star . The new balance even patented the encap tech and under the patent it’s owned by moon star and new balance . So that JP is to pay tribute to Japanese. They incorporate the encap into 1300 that’s why it’s called 1300 jp.
Yes brother appreciate the story. Encap is so legendary that there are several slightly different versions told about it. Anyway the 1300 didnt have the JP suffix when it debuted in 85. But yes only Moonstar had the capacity to produce the polymer component of Encap at the time so it had to be sourced there. Cheers my brother. Always love NB talk.

In my opinion, I don't mind the people riding the hype of J's, Nike and Adidas exclusively...more heat for those who appreciate New Balance, Asics, Saucony, Reebok, etc.
I'm now even a NB fan but I actually love how they look. Perfection in simplicity. Easy to rock. Recently copped the Tokyo Design RC 1300. Can't wait to get hold of em. I heard comfy AF. I'm starting to appreciate NB more nowadays.

Half size or full size down imo. They fit kinda big.
The big deal is they're awesome - really good trainers - and new balance at their best. I personally totally rate them wear them here I. UK with pride. 👍. 🍻🍻

Are they comfortable? I'm thinking about going after a pair of these. But I bought a pair of 1400's, and there's this big hard piece in the insole for some reason. If I'm gonna spend 1300JP money, I want to be able to wear em.
Yes they are comfortable but dont expect them to ride like the 574, know what i mean. These tend to run long and have some toe box height, so if youre a narrow footer consider going half down.

Looks like the 996
So there were 1000 made for the US but 3000 world wide! Still super rare. Managed to cop of pair off Kith 7 minutes after release (super surprised that they weren't already sold out in size 13!) They come in tomorrow. With Horween leather and a Vibram outsole, this shoe will last forever!

The 1300 usually runs long (especially the 1300JP3 for me) ....consider going half down.
