      That's called artistic license and dramatization.
      Overall though I think the movie made a decent representation of how it looks on a drilling vessel. Certainly much better (and closer to realism) than any movie before it.
      Also there were plenty of real oil related company names, such as MI Swaco, Schlumberger and Transocean which are all companies I see and have seen frequently while working in the oil.

    You don't need a magic ball to know that.Its known that the oil (that will be not necesarily cheap,but rationable and profitable to extract) will run out in about 30-40 years max,and even if you continue to extract (even for your economical loss,as you'll use the money for 2 baril to get out 1) it will be over in 50 years.

    I don't think anyone would know that because present oil reserves are guesstimates. How much local oil is being pumped in the US compared to what they bring in? But run out it will and when that begins to happen the cost will be abysmal. The 'high' cost now is driven by demand with the cost at $1.60 p/ltr or $7.20 p/gal. At the moment it's supply & demand that drives the price.

      Don’t think so, I think this is how you drill for magma, and also to drill deeper than ever before.

      Anders K. Andersson Umm... it’s destroying everything we need to survive, how is that amazing?

    • @bjorncedergreen4266
      @bjorncedergreen4266 Před 4 lety

      Anders K. Andersson As humans technology will be our downfall because we don’t use it for the right purposes. Like drilling in the ocean to get fossil fuel is only destroying the earth and not just that it’s also killing us and all life on this planet by spreading into the air that we breath. So offshore oils drilling’s = no dogs, no cats, no fish, therefore no you. Theres sooo much bio fuel we could use that wouldn’t harm us, ours pets, or the planet we live on. Crops grow never ending cause earth provides it with the sun and the water and us watering them even more will make them grow ten times faster. So yes we do have what we need to save the planet we just have to use what it provides and not use anything man made unless we need to use it. You shouldn’t use anything man made unless it benefits your health. And this is one of the most if not the most unhealthy poisons mankind has ever injected into our beautiful planet that we all know and love. SMH 😔 WAKE UP before it’s too late, before everything disintegrates into nothingness. Our planet is supposed to naturally get swallowed up by our closest star, when we do this it’s destroying our planets very spirit, Earth. The sun is our closest star and it will eventually take the earth we live on and our moon with it. The moon,
      The earth, and the sun are one with the mother and the father. The sun just devours both because besides the void the stars are the most powerful in space. Goddess, the mother of all is the void. The mother is the dark before the light. God, the father of all is the light after the dark, once they collided space was created. The stars are the babies, once they are fed enough they grow up and create more universes. Our sun is one of there sons our moon is one of there daughters. And the spirit of each family lies in each planets core. Just like our spirits are in the core of our hearts in each of our families. So offshore oil drilling or any sort of oil drilling for that matter is literally draining the very spirit of our Devine family. You need life to live and every time another species goes extinct from our doings we loose a part of our spirits and become more heartless and so does the earth. So the more pollution the more our essence is sacrificed. And people like me who have good souls won’t sell them but a part of us goes missing when sacrifice of our spirit is forced upon us. So the more oil drillings the more we pollute the planet/us, the more we pollute the universe/our family, the more we pollute space/ our home, the more we polute our mother and father/Goddess and God. Atleast dinosaurs had a natural extinction. Hmm I wonder why? Maybe because they had no electronics!!!/technology. Science is actually pretty damn simple if you think about it. Humans like to make things a lot more complicated than they actually are, it’s our biggest downfall. And don’t take it the wrong way when people call you stupid for being simple or having a simple mindset, your better than them. A lot better than them, there spirits are gonna fade off into nothingness/hell and your spirit will fly freely/heaven. All religions are pretty much the same, all the gods and goddesses of each bible are the same being/energy they just have different names in each one. It all boils down to the same conclusion, each god/goddess/demi god are all energies that keep the universal flowing. The universal law can’t be beat, space can’t be beat. But anything is possible and pollution is the only thing that can really hurt us. But since anything’s possible, anything’s curable and we can also recover from all of this. But we all have to work together despite our differences. When you know that you have to save the planet and realize this is an emergency to end all pollution you will understand where I’m coming from. I hope whoever read this comment will either be reinformed/reminded about what they had stopped caring about which is our planet that desperately needs our support. Our family has given us all the help we need now we must give back what we received to help our family/spirit/planet/earth. 🙏

    • @ocksee
      @ocksee Před 8 lety +2

      +Vetadore There are big hydraulics that allow the pipe to move with the waves. It's not directly attached to the ship the way you're thinking. Imagine a big rubber hose that then connects to the metal pipe. They just use hydraulics to help stabilize it and keep it straight.
