    Yes. Yes yes yes! You're onto the Phinehas train! These guys are most definitely Christian. Their lead guitarist is insane and is also now the guitarist for Fit For A King.
    I would recommend a couple of songs to really get a feel for these guys and their beautiful musicianship and lyricism.
    "I am the Lion"
    &
    "A pattern in pain"
    But really, just go listen to their entire discography lol.

    Very interesting that u started with the song that ends the album and ended it with the song that starts the album lol. Gotta say one of the best melodic metal core albums I’ve heard. Did not expect to like a Christian band this much but holy their riffs, break downs, screams, growls, cleans are just so on point. They remind me a lot of as I lay dying but they’re still very much different and they have their own sound.

    • @TheVoyagersBlueprints
      @TheVoyagersBlueprints Před rokem

      Fun note on this…The band was divided on these two songs and their order. Part of the band wanted them the other way around.

    I am beyond excited you guys actually did it! I personally consider Phinehas the one of best bands on the scene. Fun fact, the second track has been lauded by multiple other CZcamsrs as "the perfect metalcore song" and I'd agree. Love that epic riff towards the beginning.
    As far as the meaning of the lyrics (and they are very heavily inspired by the band's Christian faith) "In The Night" I believe is essentially written as an anthem of sorts - a call from God to not be timid in the face of a dark and doubtful world. "Eternally Apart" to me speaks to the indescribable, unknowable perfection of who God really is and how far Mankind is from having hope to understand His nature, and yet He seeks us out anyway.
    I'm so glad you enjoyed my favorite band! Definitely a worthwhile investment, especially given the anointing of a new metalhead! The album these songs feature on will release this coming Friday. Give it a listen, and welcome to the Phinehas Train. We have riffs for days.

    Hey Leonardo, I just wanted to say that I’m actually proud of you for including “non-Christian” in the title. I’ll admit that I was a little bit worried at first glance that because I haven’t been on your channel in a few weeks but I have read your replies to people accusing you of backsliding and watched the last few videos and I can clearly see that you are still strong in your faith. The word “Christian” has become a hated and tainted word in the world and consequently, the people that identify with that title automatically get hated by many people. Many “Christians” today are so quick to judge and condemn people if they think they are wrong. I absolutely love that you are taking a step to say that you don’t identify with the establishment of religion and a set of rules that come with it. Being a Christ follower means you want to be like Jesus. Jesus came to get rid of religion because it had been so twisted and he came to start relationships and I have been seeing a big surge of that happening again. We need to bring Christianity back to the foot of the cross and keep it the way he told us to be. God bless you brother

    For me this is a song of lament. Starting with the opening scream leading into the imaging of being far apart. I feel the separation of believers and unbelievers. The question to believers is that does this continue because we "Beat upon the wall, instead of the door" ( ie what separates us rather than what brings us to God, Jesus). Yes it's a banger, one of, if not the top song for me in the last many years.

    Yusss, Phinehas is the best Christian metal band IMHO! Nobody writes metalcore this creatively! I've had the opportunity to hang out with and befriend some of the guys in the band, they're some of the most genuine Christians I've met.
    PS: Definitely check out TesseracT! Maybe a song like Juno. They're ambient progressive metal and they're not a Christian band but the vocalist is a Christian. The lyrics are written to apply to people no matter what their worldview is, though. :)

      @@carlosmembreno7831 Yep, I always suspected it, especially since Dan tagged his one studio performance of WMBB's Ties of Grace as Christian worship music and his lyrics always felt like they were speaking from a Christian worldview. I happened to encounter a guy who knows Dan's family and goes to church with them, though, which confirmed it for me. :)

    Saw Phineas once in concert. Decent, I thought but not something I'd listen to more than just occasionally. OGs Vengeance Rising, Deliverance, Believer, Detritus, and Seventh Angel more my, er, speed.And of course one of my all time favorite, Sleeping Giant.
    Most importantly, glad comp stuff is all sorted and things getting back to "normal".

    Why the change to non-christian? Are you giving up your faith journey?

    • @LeonardoTorresMusic
      @LeonardoTorresMusic  Před 3 lety +9

      Not giving up on my faith, I just walk alone with Christ. Taking a step back from whatever it means to be "Christian"... in religious terms and following Christ without doctrins, rituals and religion.

    • @regul8or71
      @regul8or71 Před 2 lety

      @@LeonardoTorresMusic Heck yeah. I sometimes don’t even like calling myself a Christian because people will go to church on Sundays and be a supposedly “good person” and say “I’m a Christian and and good person and I’m going to heaven, so I’m good now”. Truly knowing Jesus instead of just following the rituals changes everything.
