Whenever that opening guitar riff comes in, whether it’s from the original song, the new one, live versions, recorded on an iPhone or mixed beautifully like on kexp, I just feel good. It sounds like when you’ve been far from home for a long time and you’re driving back and you see the name of your town on the highway sign and you know you’re not far. It’s hopeful and makes you wanna dance. It’s familiar but exciting. It’s fast and choppy but it’s comforting. It just makes me feel okay.

Hell. I think a lot of the things it touches on are pretty universal. Being young is quite rough but half the reason is because your coming into awareness of the fundamental horror of the universe and that shit never really goes away
