For sure!
Just want to say, "thank you" to Viola for taking the respectable back seat throughout this interview and letting all these "greater tomorrow's" sell themselves. Well done!!!

Thuso Mbedu 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰South Africa Stand up
Africa Stand Up!
Came here for this ❤️❤️🔥

Stand up for what? Slavery? Because historically, that's what the tribe portrayed in this movie avidly supported to the death. Slave-trade.

When woman win and show each other love....its POWER🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾. Thuso Mbedu......well done sisi 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
that's nice but rare. Women backstab and call each other names more than men ever do. In fact, women prefer male bosses over female ones.
The chief export of the kingdom of Dahomey was black slaves. There would have been no slavery in the new world without Dahomey which was one of the most evil kingdoms in the history of the world. The movie is a total lie that glorifies the slavers who destroyed the lives of millions of black people.
Except the woman king was about African slavers that they called heroes
Girl those women "warriors" we're pro slavery. You high AF if you think imma support this movie.
Win what exactly... no Oscar nomination because the move is woke bs.
Whoopy is in Awe and I'm in tears these women are beautiful
Sheila Atim is a powerful vocalist! Sooo talented 🙌🏽 that chant in the movie was so powerful!
I’m going this Wednesday! ✊🏾💜💜💜
This movie is one vig lie. Lol do your research ignants they thrived off enslaving the're own. Facts
I love it
I had to rewatch that chant so many times...
I love her voice and then her humility
Thuso relates to Viola as one would relate to a mum.
The joy whoopie is exuding at this cast is so unmatched. Loved it.
she paved the way for women who look like us. I love to see it
@@keitumetsemolebatsi7870 you can say that again 🥰
She loves actors who make hero's out of slavers. Inspirational.

As a BLACK AMERICAN I can say that it is refreshing to see African immigrants and Africans around the world show their true colors and praise this horrible and disgusting movie that uplifts African slave traders who ultimately traded my ancestors and so my ancestors into slavery within America. The truth is coming out and that's the only good thing that came out of this movie is that the truth is coming out the anti black American hatred.
Viola is one of the best actresses out there but doesn't seem to be appreciated as such.
Exactly. She is not common. I know they are trying to say they were not intimidated but they should acknowledge her work

Phenomenol casting they all held their own in this incredible movie. I can't get over the similarities between the 2 actresses this young lady would be perfect to do Mrs Davis biopic!
Viola could really dance ....I didn't realize until I saw the movie of her dancing with her film daughter. Great project and history telling. I wish we had more stories of triumph to share!

Thank you! This Tribe were literally running the Transatlantic Slave Trade ffs.
@@BLane-xr1ic They weren't the only ones! This practice lasted for three hundred years with over 12 million people enslaved. Lots of tribes were involved.
@@carmensplacebeauty Exactly. I would go as far as to say All Tribes were involved. Also important to note it was a Western Nation, The UK, that abolished it and travelled the world forcing others to do the same.
@@carmensplacebeauty but they got a movie so that's why people are outraged. Making a movie about black slave traders and portraying then to be heroes is wrong and disrespectful.

Yea a bunch of black women that played warriors that murdered and tortured black slaves 👍
So it's okay to uplift and praise black African slave catchers that's what we doing now right
She got serafina vibes
@@sweepyourspeech8350 Sarafina was ahit movie though. Your comment didn't agree well.
@@rafaelw8115 most so-called African-Americans are realizing that the majority of us do not have ancestry in africa. Many of us descend from the Aboriginal or native blacks who existed in the United States before slavery. Realize that only 6% of transatlantic slave trade benefited the United States. That's only 6% of African slaves that were transported to the United States so that means throughout the millions of black slaves that were in the United States only a few came from Africa the other ones were taken from their homes throughout the United States various tribal black people who lived in America for thousands of years. So for you took automatically assume that we foundational black Americans have an obligation to you it's false because we are realizing who we are where we actually came from which is already the United States so your pan-african logic should be directed towards black people in South America parts of Central America the Caribbean and that's it.

Real story this tribe kidnapped raped and murdered Africans and sold Africans in the Atlantic slave trade and fought to try to keep slavery intact they tortured kidnapped and had a mass killings of Africans so why would you go and support a movie about this tribe
Garbage telling the lies of two white women about a horrible tribe of child killers and slavers ..read a book and do some research.
There is nothing stunning about mercenaries perpetuating liars some people may find very sensitive. I am so disgusted most especially with the South African.
Did you read the history of the tribe and how they built their wealth on the slave trade? Did you read how they fought the British and French who were trying to end the slave trade?

Film synopsis: “In the 1800s, a group of all-female warriors protects the African kingdom of Dahomey with skills and fierceness unlike anything the world has ever seen. Faced with a new threat, Gen. Nanisca trains the next generation of recruits to fight against a foreign enemy that's determined to destroy their way of life.” - Google (original author not mentioned)
What the film left out: Their way of life being kílling their neighbors, enslavíng the survívors, mass human sacrífice and canníbalism. Their fíght was about keeping this way of life (that had been going on in Afríca for thousands of years).
The main conflíct with whíte Europeans during King Ghezo's reign came through the efforts of the British and French to bring an end to the słave trade, human sacrifíce and canníbalism. “The słave trade has been the ruling principle of my people. It is the source of their glory and wealth. Their songs celebrate their victories and the mother lulls the child to sleep with notes of triumph over an enemy reduced to slavery." - King Ghezo (King of Dahomey).
To be fair, everyone's history is morally problematic. You can't judge history with modern values without condemning it all.
@@craigthompson3739 I understand to a degree what you are saying but would you say the same thing if they made a movie about WW2 Germans as the “good guys” and leaving out all the bàd? Think about it, we are talking about wømen warriors who’s whole way of life was attackíng their neighbørs, mass sacrifíce, canníbalísm and enslavíng the survívors.
Consider the history of the US in dealing with Native Americans. So are we the "bad guys?" I stand by what I said, " You can't judge history with modern values without condemning it all."
@@craigthompson3739 the difference being that no one would be cheering on a movie about glorifying what happened to Native Americans.
@@craigthompson3739 . You are being completely disingenuous. If a movie was made where Hitler was the good guy, everyone would protest and you would also have something to say! Weird they based it on the Dahomey. They were notorious slavers that sold their own race. They only stopped when the British Royal Navy blockaded their ports. The war they had with the French also didn't go quite as the film suggests. Thousands of Dahomey were wiped out with only a handful of French losses. Good work Hollywood!

The part where the woman king shouted: “Get to the choppaaa” brought tears to my eyes. 10 out of 10 So brave and beautiful!
The Dahomey empire were slave traders who own their own plantations in Africa and thrived on selling African slaves to white Europeans and YOU say its "beautifully representing us" Study the history before you comment. Oh the Dahomey women warriors were decimated by the French in hand to hand combat. Search it......
Never have so many little white men been so butt hurt about a black mermaid and black women. Lol we know the history, incels. Lol
@Fart Knocker the problem isn't that people sold other people, but that there were people making it a demand. Any local "enemy" will sell you, but that you purchase a human being is the issue. More importantly, the issue is that the United States perverted slavery, taking it to a level no one has ever seen before or after. You truly live up to your name. Just a fart in the wind.
