I really really really hope I win the lottery for their Tokyo Dome this November 😭😭
I saw them live in Osaka in 2012 and it was an experience I will NEVER forget. I went by myself and was in a section with a group of about 8 guys who went together. Concerts are magical where you can suddenly feel like you've known someone for years as you dance and get wild with folks you've never met. It was sooooooo much fun, we were jumping and yelling and singing together.
After it ended and we were heading to the aisle, 2 older ladies behind us were just beaming and told me "you guys had so much fun". I think they must have felt our infectious joy and energy. I felt ill afterwards once the adrenaline wore off because of how hard I went, but I have ZERO regrets. Man the emotions are strong going back to those memories. ♪(´▽｀)
Taka. Could it be this? He is not ego driven. It's not about how he looks. Or about a concept or persona he has created. He is real. He's not about look at me. He is honest and true and communicates to each person there. He believes in what he is saying. Nothing is fake. He connects to the music and lyrics not as a performance to look at, but he wants you to really hear what he is saying. He is not moving across the stage saying look at me. He really is connecting to souls and hearts. He talks to the audience and invites them in throughout the whole song. He invites you in. He has an innocence and purity. He becomes one with the audience. You don't buy a ticket to see him, but to have a relevatory spiritual experience. You soar and live free in your spirit because he sets you free. Isn't that what music is all about? Healing your soul!
recently they dropped new single "make it out alive" if you didn't know! slaps so hard, looks like they're getting back to their emo/hard rock roots:D also mv release is today so im waiting impatiently
it's actually an older song that didn't make it into the album (can't remember which album)

3:58 - That's what a great frontman does. Taka is someone who can "bridge the gap" so to speak, or bring the crowd in with his energy and performance. In other words, he's got the crowd and us in the palm of his hand.
EDIT: Also his ability to constantly interact with the fans helps too.

I'm glad that Ryota grabs your attention. My bias is definitely Tomoya (The drummer). That grin is so damned effective and contagious haha. He gets INTO it. It's like he's covered in butter while he drums.

Eye of the storm is one of their best concerts, the other being live at Nagisean which has the most incredible crowds you'll ever see. Since you loved this song you have to check out "Wasted Nights" from the same show. Taka's interaction with the crowd is awesome. Not only are his vocals truly amazing but you also connect with him emotionally. I hope we get to see you react to them more frequently because there's a decades worth of live shows where you can see everything Taka can do.
I love the heat of this live♪ There is no boundary between the audience and the stage, and the audience waving like waves from the wonderful viewpoint you point out is spectacular. RYOTA is a very friendly person and I love him. RYOTA's wife is Avril Lavigne's younger sister and is very beautiful 🌹✨

Since you mentioned the quality of ONE OK ROCK's official live videos, I think it's worth noting that Tom Lord-Alge usually does the mixing for their concerts. And if you want more Ryota, check out "Deeper Deeper" at Yokohama Stadium. I searched your vids and I don't think you've seen that one yet.
I was at this performance of Eye of the Storm Japan Tour. It was in January 2020. Who knew that we would be hit with a pandemic soon after which would bring the entire world to a standstill. It's pretty surreal to think back on it.
They truly are the best!
I think you would LOVE Unforgettable, Broken Heart of Gold and Growl Old die young from One Ok Rock!! But lets be honest all of they songs slay!

Seriously, you have to react DEEPER DEEPER, Ryota and Tomoya wrote it! the bass intro is so sick!! and it's one of OORers favorite ever, especially at Yokohama Stadium 2014, you have to see how Taka put many improvisations in the lyrics, the amount of it's difference with the studio version is crazy!!🔥

They have a new song out called “make it out alive”. It came out a week ago. Check it out it’s great. But you will flip out for “one ok rock- 18Fes” it’s a jaw dropper and so beautiful 🤩
You should check out their other live show for We Are (18 Fes); a thousand 18 year olds fans are invited to perform with them! Also, have you ever checked out some of their heavier songs like One By One (xxxv live) & Mighty Long Fall (live).. really good! 🎶🔥

Always love your reactions from a director's view to One OK Rock. I feel your love for the band and they totally deserve it because they are so awesome. I can't imagine what it must feel like to be in the crowd in a live concert. It must be just crazy! Wish I could experience it some day! The song is written for Taka’s parents whom both believe that moving forward as a vocalist or a band member is difficult that they discourage him, despite the fact that his parents are famous singers themselves. This made taka decide to run away from home, live with his grandma while working part time jobs to get the money they need in starting up a band. How I interpret “nobody’s home” means the lack of support he got from home. But the song as a whole is asking for forgiveness towards his parents for what his done and telling them where he ended up.
