As I mentioned before, my best friend's grandfather had one of these, only on gold. It was his last car. He lived to 90. Here's to you, Cliff. I'll never forget you!
Now that's always my sweet spot. I love those full size Oldsmobiles. I had quite a few 98 & 88s over the years. Never had a complaint. You can't go wrong with an Oldsmobile! Thanks Bill!
My father in law drove only Oldsmobile ninety eights….loved driving those cars, I owned Buick Park avenues and we both critiqued each others car…lol he was a beautiful man…loved him like a father.
The build sheet for my 1969 Delta 88 was under the back seat. My first car in 1976. It was also Nassau Blue with a 455. Watching these videos brings back a lot of good memories about that car.
I'm glad you mentioned that this car probably had a vinyl top. Of course it did! Back in those days, a car in this class without one was rare - and not desirable. It might as well have had dog dish hubcaps 😅 In 2024, most cars with a vinyl roof look outdated.
That really is a nice car I was wondering why that car did not come with power windows now I know what Bill said in the video you really find some beautiful old cars with original miles on
Beautiful Oldsmobile, however somewhat odd about no power windows. Looks like it doesn't have tinted windows (or as my dad would say back in the day...EZ Eye).
Sticker also shows this car to have “Safety Sentinel”, which (if I am not mistaken) should be the speed alert buzzer. I am not seeing that option when I look at the speedometer? Maybe I am missing it?
Beautiful car. I'm a little sorry that I wrote all of the following, but I didn't delete it because there's always guys like me who want to know the true story. On the other hand, there's the "it-is-what-it-is" thing, but again I didn't delete it because there's always guys like me who want to know the true story. Read on: If I'm understanding correctly, I'd say that the reproduction window sticker has a second error on it for not showing an Air Conditioning- Delete. It seems strange that the top-of-the-line Olds 98 wouldn't have Air Conditioning as standard equipment. I guess it's possible that Olds didn't have A/C standard on the 98, since I recall that in the '60s the lower trim level Cadillac's didn't have A/C as standard. I'm unable to locate a reputable source publishing a list of standard equipment for this '69 98 Town Sedan. Was the reproduction window sticker from GM? Or was it perhaps from a non-reputable outfit? Does the car have the trunk-lid-sticker with all the codes on it? Or that same sticker pasted in the glove compartment. Sometimes the build sheet can be found attached to the underside of the rear seat bottom. As well, I've seen the build sheets turn up under the trunk carpeting.
So thanks for sharing all of that. I am pretty much convinced the previous owner used a source that creates replica stickers. I also believe that he called it like "he" saw it and that is why the sticker doesn't line up 100%. On these cars the cowl tag tells a lot of the story.
YOUR TIMING IS TOO ADVANCED. IF IT HAD VINYL TOP THERE SHOULD BE EVIDENCE OF IT IN THE REAR WINDOW TRAY TO TRUNK. THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHROME COLOR KEYED SURROUND AND EVIDENCE OF IT. THE STEREO IS AFTER MARKET. WONDER BAR SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THERE.
For a 1969 Oldsmobile this classic still holds up in 2024
Yes it does!

Awwww nice.

Yes, I call it how I see it and I am very careful to make sure I don't miss a thing.
Perfect full - size car.
Lots of room and power!

I mean back then you could order a car literally any way you wanted it!
Back in the day, people did not think power windows and locks were reliable.
@@paulm6481 Very true

Yeah, oddly optioned.
Sweet cruiser
Thanks!

Could be another glitch on the sticker. I should just throw that out and have a more accurate one made! lol
That thing hauled ass before you got on freeway.
Yup!

lol!!
Does it say Town Sedan anywhere on the car???
Yes on each front door panel. Check out the interior video on this one and you will see it.
