Hi I want to go to Dakar but I don’t have anyone to go with me so I’ll be going solo. Do you have any tips or drivers to reach out to that could help me navigate and be safe as a solo female traveler? I’m taking all suggestions and help!

Hi and thanks for watching. I would recommend that you learn basic communication in Frech (ex. cost, food, transportation) I stayed in Almadies near the American embassy. it was very safe. From the airport to Almadies was about 45mins to an hour and the price was 30,000 CFA. A lot of my Taxi rides were. 2,500 for 10-20mins drive. Waze works out there, that's how I was able to tell how far the area was and if the driver was taking me to the right place. Light house is one of the best lounge. I would recommend a hotel versus the Airbnb if you want to feel more secure. Some Airbnb has security at the front, but they may not look the same in person as they do on the pictures. When do you plan to visit?
