It's not, remember, in the original genesis Sonic games you can't fly when on mid air, and here, you are LITERALLY controlling the characters in a haunted game, Cream was in mid air when she fell, so you can't press jump to fly, and even whem she DID after landing the ground, it would have been a long way up and like Tails, flying for too long will tire Cream down, hope this helps explain
