Gerry is here to talk you through the Vikings set from Victrix.
From their Warriors of the Dark Age range there are a grand total of 60 vikings in this set in which there are a wide variety of options to assemble them. However, Gerry did have to spend a rather long time deciphering the assembly instructions which may be quite headache inducing.
What game would you like to run these vikings in?

Me: Nice, but I already have a bunch of Norse and Anglo-Danes.
Also me: But more would be great!
You could always use more
they look really cool
I remember "Bag of Zombies!!!" but a bag of vikings... that's new XD
Excellent figures. Those tempted will not be disappointed. Puting them together you need patience, but you do learn alot about the different Viking classes of warriors and options. The Late Anglo Saxon Dane figures are brilliant too and the axes you dont use from Viking set are interchangeable with many of the bodies! They paint up really well and have more action poses than the competition! Highly recommended them.
I’ll only be disappointed by the fact that I’ll be adding to my pile of shame.
I just bought 6 bags of Vikings/Saxons and Normans plus some archers. It looks rather daunting to this average model builder but I shall soldier on 🙂,,,, Your tutelage has been much help, thank you. We have to admire Victrix though, a company started from scratch and built to a modern day scale 🙂 I find that their figures and sculpts are unique and show good lines. They are also very affordable per unit. I do not work for them just a happy customer,,,,,,
Mine just came through mail they look amazing
The "new" Victrix 28mm minis are a joy to paint.
Thanks for the review Gerry, Great looking minis.
wow, that is a great deal, 60 models with decent possibility this looks perfect for a games club looking to get into frostgrave, just buy the book and a packs of these to give enough models to run at least two games at once
Literally was just looking for this!!!
Thx Gerry. Great stuff as always. The problem is now I really just want a bag of these lads!
Nice looking Norse, may have to look into these myself.
Thanks for this review, I've thinking about buying these for a while and had heard good things but hadn't pulled the trigger yet.. Seems like a great quality deal at a good price.
Excellent review, better than some others I've watched recently. Considering these and the Saxons for several RPGs, Clash of Spears / Saga wargaming.
I would love to see a painting tutorial on a few of these! I cannot find anyone painting these anywhere.
Nice looking miniatures for the era
They look really nice.
thank you great job
I bought some Victrix for Sharp Practice. It had a good selection of Napoleonic French. The models looked pretty good. The instruction were spot on clear. My problem was that I felt that their modeling plasic was softer and spongier that it should be. This coming from someone who also bought a bunch of Warlords stuff as well, and they have a good, hard plastic.
Looks like an excellent Jomsviking SAGA Warband in a box... well, in a bag. I'm very tempted... (as if I don't have enough projects as is)
They seem to have nice detail to them, was looking at the Saxons myself.
Victrix upped their game.
The prices for these minitiatures are really nice as well. Not even 1 pound per model (~ € 1 per model). Coming from the games workshop models (which can get up to €100 for the bigger monsters and for the battle line still a couple euro per model), that's really nice. Can't wait to receive the sets I just bought and start working on my first historical miniatures.
Yes very good
Great variety of faces on these sprues
Wow - a really great set...just have to plow thru sorting out the parts combos. A variety of uses for my table as these are even good for 'Northmen' in Middle Earth's various cultures. Hmmmm... looks like a set is on the way!
The instructions was giving flashbacks to when I made up their EIR cav.
Really cool kit. Fantastic detail. i want them but have no need for 60 vikings
There are several sellers on eBay who sell individual sprues. Caliver Books also sell some single sprues, including these. You won’t get the instructions though.
@@liberalhyena9760 ah perfect thanks I'll have a look
Amazing for that price and quantity of models- shame instructions are like pulling teeth
Where is the shield covers?
Did Gerry consume all the other members of the studio? I haven’t seen anyone else in an unboxing in a long time...not complaining, just wondering.
looking at this you could build two armies with all figures completely different.
@Gerry mcCabe cool may have to invest
Do they go well with plastic glue or is a plastic that works better with cyanoacrilate?
I assume you’ve found out by now, but if not, plastic cement is the thing to use.
yes lot bits fore kit bashing when you get you viking you need fore blank say some space wolves stuff and other ( dwarf stufff ) good know a look in to
bloody hell ... who designed those instructions ?
Someone with a phobia for clear instructions ?
A former secret service agent used to writing in code?
@Tiny mod nah, IKEA instructions have big pictures
instructions Just seem very lazy
I found this also.
I do like victrix but god the assembly is so bad its almost comedic
Pretty much right from the very beginning of this video, this guy was whining about the amount of options. I was definitely sick of him by halfway through.
Put me off, to be honest. Why buy a victrix set if you DON'T want loads of options/choice?
