I've seen 'Guys and Dolls', 'Born on the Fourth of July', 'King of Comedy', 'Dog Day Afternoon', 'The Exorcist', 'Rebel Without a Cause', 'Cool Hand Luke', 'The Maltese Falcon', and both 'Batman' movies - so, I can understand why you've purchased physical copies of these films. I've found myself appreciating physical copies of movies or series over streaming, as a favorite can simply disappear from one service, and not picked up by another. Some platforms allow downloading, but even if you've paid for a film; it can only be downloaded to that service's app. I still have two VHS/DVD players, and I'm grateful I've kept them. You'll love 'Guys and Dolls', and I totally agree with you on quality in cover art. 'The Exorcist' is a prime example of the perfect cover. Its take on the Magritte painting was perfect (I wonder why your new copy chose to 'dumb it down', as well). There's also a comparison to be made to physical copies of music recordings. Cover art on albums was often integral to the music, in some fashion - sometimes, being 'art', all by itself. That got lost with streaming. Anyway, sorry for rambling. I admire your choices. :)
Thanks so much! Yes I’m a big advocate of physical media (although I don’t have a collection on par with some of the guys and gals here on CZcams!). That’s not to say o don’t stream films and tv shows as I do, but for my favourites I prefer the physical thing. Also if I find movies for very cheap and I can see myself rewatching them, I’ll pick them up. I also have an old vhs player although not many tapes left. It’s funny that the death of physical media is constantly being brought up, but considering we’ve seen vinyl’s rule die off to be replaced with cassettes and cds and those being threatened by mp3s and streaming only to see vinyl explode again (and even cassettes making a comeback) I guess as long as people want to own something, there’ll be a market for it. 🙌 😃
@@ReelClassicFilmReviews You're right, of course; typewriters are even a 'thing' with some again, while true audiophiles feel sound quality on vinyl was superior to CD's, before streaming or downloading. And, I'm sure there will always be a decent market for books. But, anything I want to re-watch, hear, or read: I do prefer a physical copy. :)
Dog day afternoon. We went to see it on a Sunday afternoon back then. Never seen pacino before. Didn’t expect much the film is fantastic. Stays in my memory nearly 50 years on.
Hi Steven, Fine update buddy, "Fury" is one i didn"t imagine to be so good & yes the tank action scenes were superbly filmed , a much underrated War movie, one of Tom Cruise"s finest performances in "Born on the 4th of July" not a huge fan of Cruise but it was a great film. "The King of Comedy" indeed a great Scorsese movie & watching it first as a young teen i always wondered why this movie got praised so much & it did take another viewing of it to love the movie . I"m with on the original cover always especially for "The Exorcist" its so iconic that you gotta have it on the cover, that one i"ll be picking up, one of my all time movies in "Cool Hand Luke" i still need to complete my Batman collection with a copy of "Batman & Robin" Fine update, happy viewing buddy !

Yeah couldn’t believe I didn’t already have a cool hand Luke blu ray!
