When I first watched this with my friend I thought “Two hours of my life I’ll never get back,” I was eighteen then and now I’m 33 kinda obsessed lol
Yeah you can’t go into them with a serious mindset. You gotta accept them for what they are and have a laugh when it’s silly
I was exactly the same when this movie came out. I was 13, and now I prefer this movie a thousand times more than the movies they put out now. Honestly if I could go back knowing what I know now I would deeply appreciate this movie for what it was.

I've come to the conclusion that Bella was depressed in the first movie. Obviously, Bella was unhappy with the move from Arizona to Forks, but she also appeared to be unhappy with the custody arrangement between her parents. She's only social when she has to be. She never mentions friends that she missed in Arizona. Bella just seemed unhappy with life in general. I think once Bella realized what Edward was, she saw him as a path to a life that was completely different from her unhappy one. This is why she became so attached to him. Once the sequel came out, Bella's behavior confirmed my suspicion that she is obsessed, slightly infatuated, but not in love with Edward.
Sure but she is also a true introverted.. like she has a social battery and it drains when she is with extroverted people.. but not with edward.. with him she has company so it doesnt have to be a lonely life becouse of her disability so socialize and her battery doesnt drain.. I relate a lot to her.. and I too found my edward and I understand the "obssetion" (english is not my first language and it shows so please dont be mean, thank you)
Very much obsessed. She said she loved him immediately before even knowing him. And that kind of depression where she didn’t speak for 4 months..became a zombie, screaming in her sleep….that doesn’t come from a breakup, that comes from grief, like death. Although I get he said “it would be like I never existed” is kind of like a death. But her reaction was a loss from an obsession. She wasn’t her own person; she relied on him way too much. She has no strength, and she relied on yet another guy to pull her out of her depression. And used him. She’s a pretty weak lane character.
@tamaramarkovic973 I, too, am an introverted person. Having to socialize as an adult is even harder than it was when I was a child. But even introverted socially awkward people have at least 1 friend they can truly talk to. Bella appeared to have none when she left Arizona. The reason she's acquainted with several kids from Forks High School is because they pushed themselves onto her. Bella tolerated them because they had information on Edward & his family. Notice how, after she got close to Edward, she greatly reduced her time with the students that befriended. Then, when Edward broke up with her, she completely cut them off & reverted back to her original depressive state. Why? Not because she lost the "love of her life" but because she lost her link to a new different life.
@luxyfluxy Exactly. Don't forget that she started doing life-threatening stunts to get his attention, which almost killed her twice. That's not love. In real life, she would've been sent to psych ward & forced to speak to psychologist

This Scene was weird to me untill i began reading" Midnight Sun" where it talks from his point of view. He talks about how he couldn't resist smelling her blood, that it was to pure and he was fighting back his fantasy of ripping her throat right out. He was also holding in his breath as long as he xould so he could fight the temptation.

The best scene I have ever scene in a movie shot very subtly but conveys the confusion and misunderstanding in both of their thoughts....In fact could relate it with some of the school and college days where we would go back home and check on our personal hygiene and hygiene of the clothes....
But the relation they share in later part of the movie is beautiful, undefined and bold....

Stephanie Meyer says the structure of her story was partly inspired by _Pride & Prejudice,_ and the character of Edward Cullen is certainly a fine _homage_ to Austen's novel.
Ironically, Robert Pattinson plays Edward Cullen - the patent equivalent of Fitzwilliam Darcy - vastly better than any actor who has actually played Mr Darcy.

People dont understand Bella. If you google infp personality type you will understand her better. She seems sad because honestly infps tend to feel sadness a lot deeper than other personality types and also can be rather moody. I am also an infp personality type and i have been sterotyped as boring or depressive or weird. She introverted for sure. She is quite. She feels emotions deeply. She is awkward. She is fiercly loyal. She is selective of who she interacts with. She is an infp for sure. And one of my fav characters. 😊 just a bit of education. Typology i think is key for writing up different characters.
