Kitsch MV: • IVE 아이브 'Kitsch' MV
NOTE: While I do believe this song is being trashed relentlessly by most of K-youtube, I do think this song is warranted for criticism and can receive. I don't want to make it seem like other people can't criticize the song because of course they can and others have brought up some great points that I try to reciprocate here. However blind hatred and speculation is just unnecessary, respectfully leave your thoughts below!
Give Kpop stans a day and see how they pick apart your song, I stg it's not that bad y'all just want something to throw tomatoes at.

"But it's mixxpop!" No it's not. Beat switches existed before NMIXX.
IVE is struggling from the same problem that Red Velvet suffered from. And the Twice… and then Blackpink… and then Itzy… and then Aespa… You really can’t be a popular girl group without every release being forcefully criticized for being “end the of your career”. Once you’re popular, everything you put out after that is “Not good enough” or “Won’t be as good as their old stuff”. The bias against these groups is so forced…
it's actually one of my favorite releases of this month, I just wish that liz got more lines then just 5 sec 💀
NMIXX’s concept has “ruined” narratives in KPop. This is just an anti-drop with a different instrumentation from the verses/pre-chorus. It’s not mix pop. It’s not genre clashing. It’s just subverting expectations. I need more KPop stans to understand music theory and music production 😅
The more I listen to it, the more it's growing on me honestly. I just wish my girl Liz gets more lines. They're really treating her like an extra in this song and mv.
people are gonna lose it if they find out that kitsch finally made me stan IVE💀
People just hate fun that song slaps🔥
Kitsch was great but the line dist. Put off many ppl
I always forget that this is just a pre-release. After songs like “Ice Cream”, “Boys Like You”, and “Moonlight Sunrise”, I feel like KPop stans overreact too much because a lot of pre-releases are hated while the title tracks (and album as a whole) for these artists are pretty well received 🤷♂️
Personally I rlly more like Kitsch than Eleven tbh
this song.. ive listened to it over 160 times already.. im OBSESSED
i just love that ive made us all look up the meaning of kitsch 😂
The song isn't as bad as people are making it out to be... I think the problem is that IVE established a certain sound for their first few releases and this goes against it. With that said it's a pre-release, a b-side.
when i started listening to the song it was feeling like some kind of classic pop song? a little nostalgic? and the chorus turned it into a freaking bop. so good
It wasn't the worst or the best. I did see some polls on it and it wasn't received the best, which is fine. It's subjective. But people do need to remind themselves that this was just the pre-release and not the actual title track. Plus there will be an actual album, so there will be other songs too. Nothing to be fully panicked for yet. ^-^
Kitsch is pretty damn good, lol. Love the low voices, the attitude, the anti-drop.
OMG! This is their best song in my opinion. It's has the best rhythm and actually has a beat.
It's definitely missing the spark that Love Dive, Eleven, and After Like had, but it's a pre-release, so they're probably saving that for the actual title track on the upcoming album. I agree, it's not that bad, people just hate IVE lol. It's good even, just not *great*.
I wasn't too into the song on a first listen but it's really grown on me and I think it's an interesting direction that they've taken musically given the past releases.
I really liked this song 💀 I don't really like IVE's other tracks except maybe LOVE DIVE, but this one was so so good. I looked up "Kitsch IVE" to see people talking about it (thinking more people liked it) and then saw all the videos calling it a mess and was genuinely surprised. Sure it's not perfect but it's still good. Kpop fans are just hypercritical about any and every group under the sun, especially girl groups and popular groups, and don't know how to just listen to things without flicking the "I'm a music critique who knows music theory and vocal strain and am a high-level choreographer" switch
