For anybody deciding on land usage, you need a large, detailed topographic map of your farm. Take it somewhere and get it laminated and then you can draw on it with dry-erase markers. Make cardboard cutouts of any mobile structures so you can play around with placement.
Cattle also lay down when they chew their cuds. In a world with so many things going wrong, watching you get your pigs and steers just makes my heart happy. God bless & keep growing
I'm so happy that you were able to get them. My heart is heavy for the people at the farm having to stop doing what they love, but am so glad that wonderful people, like your family, are able to take on these animals. Penelope's face said it all. Congratulations and can't wait to see piglets! 💜
WOW! How exciting! Congratulations! New home, new farm, new livestock. You are now cow & pig farmers. So happy for you guys.
So happy for you with your new farm and now animals. When Justin said about that farm selling their animals I was hoping you could get some. Way to go Sow the Land.
Loooooooove the way he spoke to the pigs 🐖, to calm them after they were put into the crate. Amazimg - the respect for the animals. Same for you guys.
Hi, Jason, Lorraine, and Penelope! This new homestead is coming together quickly. We are so happy you chose our area to live!
Great job..you may want to run a second hot wire a little lower for the steers while they are little. They can run under the wire if it's too tall.
This comment is spot on.
I’ve got such a big smile on my face after watching that vlog. In the deep end … this is gonna be fun. Those animals are so calm … it’s a credit to their former owners
Congratulations
I hope the family selling the farm animals is equally blessed.
Congratulations on the cattle and pigs! God has sure blessed you guys !
The farm you got these animals did a great job training these animals because it’s not always that easy.
Oh My Goodness! You indeed have a farm now. Congratulations! I'll be looking forward to your trials and tribulations on this great adventure!
How exciting new chickens a couple days ago and now pig and steer farmers. Blessings
My heart breaks for this couple having to sell everything but congratulations to you, they will be well cared for.
Food shortages coming "they" say- having pigs and cows is a good idea! Excited for ya'll
I'm so proud of you guys!! Way to go, jumping in like that. I used to raise cattle, several breeds including red angus, black angus and jersey cross. They were fine for both beef and milk, although the angus doesn't have as much cream content as the jersey and we didn't milk for more than a couple of months of the year. I am excited to watch your lovely pigs and see your version of 'pigs for everyone' unfold. And as for easy to unload... the more prepared you are, the easier it gets.
This is so much fun guys, I am 81 and learning with you. So proud of your family. You are certainly the real deal. gma jo from Northern California.
Congratulations, you’ll do wonderful because you’re caring, loving people! Many blessings 🤗❤️🇨🇦
its a delight to hear the lighthearted gladness in your voices, no hesitation or trepidation (as formerly when you welcomed with *the brothers* -- and look how well yo'all handled them) Way to go !
It is heartbreaking to watch that man/family lose the animals they love. Glad they are going to people who care about animals.
Well that was terrific not to much trouble getting the new animals to your farm in one piece! best wishes to all three of you. keep the journey moving forward.
You guys are my absolute favorite. So happy this new place is working out for you and you got in on that farm. Such a shame they had to close their doors, can really tell from yours and Justin's vids that they really cared for their animals.
Great to see you guys having livestock and a great place for them!
What a wonderful thing you are teaching your daughter. Embracing your dreams not fearing them. Just imagine what she will accomplish as an adult. Jason and Loraine you have a very blessed family.
Thanks, Fun Watch! 🐂 🐖 😊
When the other guy said he was gonna miss the pigs I started crying. Ugh! I hope all works well for them too!
I’m so happy for you! New home, new animals, and many more videos! Yay!!
WhoooHoooo! Bernice is still Queen!
Oh, how cool !! How awesome that they all co-operated so well so you can get relaxed and comfortable with these new additions 🙂👍. You made the former owners happy knowing you'd take good care of these animals. Enjoy!!!

I know this is unrealistic, but I wish you could film everything. I love sharing your "first of" farm education/experience. Thanks!!
You are so funny, how do cows sleep ? Lol . You two aren't afraid to admit you don't know it all and will listen to others and study. You will be very successful with your beef and pork business. Very HAPPY for you three .
Yay! How exciting for your sweet little family! I'm happy you were able to get them all, and it also helped out the family having to sell all their livestock.

Jason
Your videos are great and addiciting.
I enjoy that you share what you are creating.
You have picked a gem of a new place.
I'm sure you don't know yet how devinely gifted that property was.
It's gorgeous. Incredible views. Definitely, put in that picnic
table. Although one may be not enough.
I'm a one man show in Boulder, Colorado. Some views too.
I supply about 40%-50% of my yearly vegies. Perserve and
permaculture, with rock walled beds. Short growing season.
One thing I found that works for those occasional panic attacks,
is to lay face down on some nice grass, spread eagle.
Make sure nothing is poking/distracting you.
Image, you are holding the earth, hugging her.
Try that for 1 minute in you panic filled day.
Then try for 2 minutes.
The panics will ease and disappear.
Don't stop what you and all are doing. Give it 5-15 years.
You won't want anything else.
All the best,
David
Congratulations on your additions! Look like you will have a fun productive spring and summer!

I'm happy for you both. This is going to be fun. I love to see how well trained the cows are.
Kindly he pigs are adorable.
Ok, I'm so happy for you folks. You're new homestead is so wonderful. Getting the steers and helping that couple out so great. But for me what I'm most excited about are Kunekune pigs. Especially that you got a mated pair and I hope she is pregnant. This is the breed I have most wanted to start with. They prefer to graze grass, they are less likely to rip up pasture. Small size makes them easier to handle and lower feed costs. However I understand that they grow slower so this first year it might be a good idea to get two standard sized pigs for next falls harvest. Grow your new pigs about a year before considering a slaughter program for them. Purebred Kuneune sell well, especially breeders. High end Chefs are beginning to discover Kunekune are VERY tasty. You may just have gone into the pig business. I will be watching this very closely. If you are considering getting more involved with cattle consider getting some Dexter's, a male and 2 or 3 females. They are half the size of standard cows but are dual porpoise. Meat and milk. They consume half the feed, are very gentlem and are very easy to deal with. They are a old breed coming originally from Ireland. Very sturdy and good mothers that don't need a lot of help while calving. The same reason they were so popular in Ireland over 200 years ago are the same reason modern homesteaders are finding them popular now. Anyway I'm so happy for you folks. Have a great day 🌤. 🐂🐖👍
These are the best days of your life 💙
So excited for your family, but sad for the couple who had to sell their livestock. Good growing in 2022!
