I saw this tour a couple of times in the UK, but the Bilston gig was the best gig I've ever seen in my entire life.

Great performance even without Dave Jackson. Can't believe no-one has put In Babelsberg on you tube. Best VDGG track since their 2005 comeback.

volevo aggiungere una particolarità:Nell'album originale Pawn Hearts questo brano è diviso in due parti perchè ad un certo punto del brano tutti i musicisti del gruppo dovevano fermarsi per riaccordare tutti gli strumenti a Trezzo hanno superato se stessi
Quasi sicuramente ti riferisci alla performance live per la tv olandese fatta nella prima metà degli anni '70... La versione in studio infatti è stata registrata in millemila take, altro che due parti ;)
VDGG and PH were always advanced to their time.
Pawn Hearts always sounded like it was released in 1978 rather than 1971, totally ahead of its time

I am very happy to have seen this gig and to be able to relive it thanks to this great video. It appears that the recording from this gig was used (after having been mixed by Hugh Banton) for the fantastic VdGG live album Merlin Atmos which has just been released.
Thx Matt for your comment! I didn't yet buy the MA live album but I think it'll be for sure a great trio live picture. Really love the VDDG trio live rendition :-)

Whatever the reason, the music has suffered since Jackson left. The trio just doesn’t do it for me
@@Jesse11P Nevermind the "falling out"... For the fans, DJ was a a big part and still missing here and for those 3 fabulous albums (Pawn hearts, Still life, Godbluff). PH, HB, GE should put water in their wine, put aside their ego and bring back this fabulous musician!

No way. 2 songwriting powerhouses like Roger and Peter can't be in the same band
Roger Waters lacks the talent of these guys. Also, VDGG was inactive between 1978-2005.
No need for a big ego to come in. Peter is a far more accomplished lyricist than Waters (I like Floyd a lot by the way) more expansive and daring whereas Waters is very good but tends to keep things simple and concise. I never could see Waters writing APOLHK or Sleepwalkers, never mind A Louse or Meurglys lll.
