Shoveling off Roof in Anchorage Alaska

There has been 3 warnings in Anchorage Alaska for people to shovel off their roofs. The last warning from the fire department and building inspector said all roof types.
What we never expected was the snow to be so deep on the roof, that it would take several days of roof raking, roof melt and two days of shoveling physical on the roof. A week later the roof above me is empty. Other then an ice dam that refuses to melt.
The snow was waist high in some areas and knee deep in other spots. Should people in Anchorage Alaska shovel their roofs? The answer is, Yes! So far there has been one death from a roof collapse. Another roof collapse with people inside but had no injuries. A third roof collapse had no one in the building.
Residents that have lived here for decades have said, “I’ve never shoveled my roof off. I’ve never heard warning to shovel your roof off in Anchorage!” Looks like roof shoveling is a new climate change problem in Anchorage Alaska.
