- In this video, I am putting head-to-head the Acer Nitro 5 Vs HP Victus. The HP Victus and Acer Nitro 5 are great laptops for around the $1000 price point. If I were going to choose one off of build quality alone I would choose the HP Victus. HP uses better materials and it really is noticeable. In regards to the performance they are close, even with the Victus containing the RTX 3060 as opposed to the Acer Nitro 5's RTX 3050 Ti in the unit I had for review.

HP wins this one for me im not a fan of rgb and the gamer laptop design like nitro 5, also the design of the victus is what captivated me it doesnt look like a gaming laptop if u just simply look at it, looks clean too

Hp Victus is what I would choose honestly. The wobble is not a problem since the laptop will be on a desk most of the time. (also longer warranty and better cooling )
and it doesnt look like a spaceship
Has lower TDP limits which will hurt performance
HP has lower TDP, screen wobble, while acer has highest TDP among its competitors
@ShojiVR I had both and the nitro 5 is bunk when it comes to display , you can't see anything. Victus over nitro anyday.. also it's all about specs :) not all have the same but every nitro 5s be dim asf also audio is bunk too
@@Linuxed-vh5he sure if you dont mind with only 45% ntsc on victus, which is totally terrible color, and new nitro has 300 nits which is totally plenty enough, and if it is not enough, you can increase it with vari brightness on your display setting.
also dont expect too much from laptop speakers, it is like using mobile phone speaker. always goes with headphone or external speaker for better experience.
In Speaker Audio Sample at 6:03 it shows HP Victus but it's the sound of the Acer, same at 6:16, it shows Acer, it's HP Victus

If the Victus SD card reader is similar to the HP Gaming Laptop (these laptops look exactly the same) from a year or two ago, then it's a pretty slow card reader. I use a cheap $6 usb 3.1 card reader cause it's 3x faster than the built-in card reader.

Victus 11th gen ryzen 5 3050ti was the cheapest we have. I bought one on installment 2yrs to pay here in the PH at arnd 1k usd with the upgrade to 24gb ram. I never realized not bringin a card reader actually is a big convenience of not worrying u would forget one.
I got mine with a 12th gen i5 but with GTX 1650

What I didn't like about Victus was that its mousepad collapsed and would not come back up occasionally. The mousepad felt powerless when I pressed.
Opening the case and pushing the collapsed area from bottom and installing reinforcements should be no problem (!)
I bought mine a few days ago and the touchpad was uneven. People should pay attention to this when buying

Victus 16 has better cooling and ports. Ryzen wants more power than Intel

Victus 16 screen size might be better 🤔 depending on what you want
Go for the victus 16, since victus 15 doesnt have secoondary nvme slot, but if you want to have compact design choose the 15

@@gavingreer3507 i run red dead redemption 2 , warzone , apex legends , overwatch i’m gonna download even more games whenever I’ve more free time but for now all the games i played are running really smooth and honestly I’ve never played rust so i can’t speak on that aspect but my recommendation is if you have the money go for the 3060 model it’s gonna be even better and the price gap is like a 100 buck so it’s not that much for the performance you’ll get.
little side note : i was really worried about the wobbling issues before buying it but once i got it, it’s really not bad . You should be 100% fine if you’re not on a moving surface and even if it’s the case it’s not like it was impossible to use , the hinge is really stiff

I think there's a typo when he edited the video but the audio and the video are attached so I think it's correct the first one was the nitro and the second is the hp, just the names were wrong.

I think that depends on the prices you can find in the area you live.
For example: I found at 1000$ Lenovo Legion5 pro(2021) - with similar specs(CPU+GPU), but the Legion5 pro have a better screen and a better building quality. HP Victus was also 1000$ The version with 12700H and RTX3060 was 1200, but the RTX3060 have a smaller TDP than the RTX3060 in the Legion5 pro.
I'm looking at the $699 i5 version. Can't justify $1200 for a laptop
