Hey I thought I was your best friend?! 😂
You are my extra special fancy best friend 💗
😂❤😂 I love this and love both of your channels. I was over here thinking, I hope Robbie doesn’t see this. 🌹🪻🌸
lol I jokingly thought that when I saw her say it lol
Funny!!!
I thought the same thing Robbie. Your Janey’s best bestie 🧡🌻
Whenever Jack Barnwell talks gardening and landscaping everything in my world stops and I listen. Jack has so much knowledge! This was a great video Janey thank you.
Agree with Jack- the year of roses…
Love Love Love Jack Barnwell! A wealth of gardening knowledge! It’s so neat you were able to interview with him! Great job Janey! You two ROCK!
Good morning from Kentucky! He’s the best! I’m going to try to make my garden like one of his creations on Mackinac Island! I just wish he would do more CZcams content!
What a great compliment to the Garden Festival and to you, Janey and your channel, to have Jack Barnwell attend and talk with us today. His work is just stunning!!
Robbie is the OG best friend. But Jack seems cool too.😂
Yes he sure is. We love Robbie. 😝
Jack is a great source of knowledge!! Love Aquapots!! As always you did a great job! Thank you and so proud of you! 👏
I have been following Jack for years!! He is soo good!! Thanks Janey for sharing!!
So awesome to have Jack, his zestful, whimsical attitude is just infectious; it’s always pleasant conversation. On top of that he’s extremely knowledgeable, and his ability to explain things in a straightforward easy to understand manner is refreshing. Great video!
❤️Watching Jack Barnwell design one of his signature landscapes for me has been an awe inspiring experience.
I wish he would film more!
To see him work from the start of a blank space (nothing but grass or trees / woods or builder blank dirt) to his end design is a walk in what can be done when creative imagination, ingenuity and deep pockets meet.
Simply said ~ He creates masterpieces.
It seems his projects always surround an amazing multi million dollar dream home. How do you make that home better with some trees, paths and plants? It almost seems impossible to think it can be done. His designs even incorporate an outdoor kitchen or what ever they desire. How do you do all this without making it cookie cutter or mis-matched… also, taking into account not to actually cover the architecture failing to enhance the structure? Plus taking the landscape challenges into account. For example dealing with drainage and other massive problem areas specific to the site. How does one design accomplish this? Well, Jack finds a way. He walks you through start to the finished product. He designs and creates one landscape after another all are a work of perfection in my opinion.
These homes are the type and style where the home is a 5 star architectural structure. Seriously, beautiful homes that stand apart. Somehow, he is able to make the whole place from the curb appeal, entry with the first view to incorporating all the borrowed views all around ~ expanding the landscape to make it a slice of heaven on earth… and the home sits in it… no longer does the home stand alone in a barren landscape. When he is done you see how architecture magnificently built structures can be soaring from the ground almost out of place with the plain surroundings. Instead ~ when he is done, the home is surrounded with an equally stellar landscape.
His designs are packed with moments that elevate and surround you with such beauty from every step up to the home, looking out the windows of the home… hiding all unpleasant views, so the whole experience is peaceful and tranquil. These massive homes finally look as it belongs to and in the landscape.
Watching his videos ~ and seeing him work is an extraordinary experience. He designs in a way that the landscape matches and elevates the architects design… he is certainly in the master class of landscape design.
If I ever hit a lottery… I would find him and hire him to design my home garden landscape. Until, then I will watch and dream…
*by the way, the things he does with boulders and stone paths (chefs kiss) he has got to be the best in the world of landscape design. I watched him create Winding stair cases from slabs of stone… down a cliff side… opening to a beach over looking a lake…. Things like that ~ he makes the impossible happen. ❤️
Amen, I wish he would do more filming. I could watch him work 24-7. In my book he’s genius as a designer. What he does with the most difficult landscapes ah-mazing❤
@@carolwarmoth8744 I agree!!!
I have one suggestion for the Aqua Pot design. I purchased one and couldn’t tell if the water was full unless I filled until it overflowed. I tried to use plastic balls that I purchased for pong game, but they were too big. If there’s a small white ball inserted inside the tube so we can see ball float once there’s enough water without losing water with fertilizer and if we don’t see ball then it’s time to refill.
Otherwise, they do work.
@cynthiapm8149 Great idea!
Awww, let Jack be a Millennial!😊 It should be based on personality & other criteria, not the year one was born. Heck, I'm an older Baby Boomer and I have many of the same opinions as my kids😅. Great Interview, I too, am contemplating how to incorporate that Pergola/Birdhouse concept into my small garden.
Thank you for sharing Jack Barnwell , he is one of my favorite gardeners . ❤💚🏡
What a treat, great questions too. I'll have to empty my big pots for those inserts, they'll be great for the pots a little farther away from the hose. Age categories, baby boomer here 😂
No worries Jack, YOU ARE A MILLENIAL!! Millenials are from 1981 to 1996. Anyone before 1981 is Generation X, lol! Can't wait to see your design of roses. Thank you Janey for this awesome interview.
Am I GENERATION X? 😊 That sounds pretty generic, MILLENNIAL sounds better! Ha, ha, ha , just joking 😊😂😂😂
I'm a Boomer. And proud of it. 😃
@@HoyEnElJardin Here's the breakdown, 😀
The Greatest Generation: born 1901 to 1927
The Silent Generation: born 1928 to 1945
Baby Boomers: born 1946 to 1964😀
Generation X: born 1965 to 1980
Millennials: born 1981 to 1996
Generation Z: born 1997 to 2010
Generation Alpha: born after 2000 according to Google🤨
@@Edu_Kate 😄Awesome, so am I!!
You’re forgetting about the Xennial generation! 77’-85’!
So glad to hear that they have Aquapot inserts - I've used inserts in my pots for a while but my source for them dried up and I've been looking for a replacement - yay!
They sell out fast! Jenny at Gardening With Creekside said so.
I love Jack.
I love that you have a formula that works & it looks like you're sharing it with others - keep it up!
He's the same Jack from the Mackinaw Island videos, with Laura, wow didn't realize it was him , he's wearing a different hat, I'll never look at those videos the same now, I'll pay more attention... Did he invent the aqua pot you said ? How cool , would love to try some, so darn hot here in summer everything has to be watered daily or possibly lose it , the summer sun is very intense in far northern CA
I'm so impressed with your interviewing skills, you'd think that had been your previous job. Great work!
Ohhh, now that you've met Jack, you have to visit Mackinac Island. He's done some great work there. Mackinac Island is on my travel list.
SOLD when he said, “ain’t nobody got time fo dat!” -Sweet Brown 😂❤
Jack is amazing at all he does!
I love Jack. Thanks for the interview Janey. His videos on Mackinaw Island in Michigan are so beautiful.
Good Morning! Jack is the BEST! LOVE him!!! Thanks Janey!
Yay.. it’s Jack Barnwell! Love seeing him during Michigan’s Hydrangea festivals. I’ve seen him in numerous garden videos over the years. Would love to own an aqua pot❤
yee haw - the Jack and Janey Show ... what a great interview. Jack is always so much fun to watch - knowledgeable, inspirational and full of encouragement to get out and get growing !!! You two together make a great team. Thanks to Jack for taking time to speak with you and all of us out here in CZcams land !!!
Great interview. I always enjoy your talks with fellow gardener's. Jack's a great friend to have :)
Love Jack! I made a trip to Mackinac Island and loved it. I even seen Jack grandparent's home. This is a must for trip for gardeners.
Always love seeing and listening to Jack!
Good morning Janey and Jack!! I LOVE Jack. His design is like no other!! An AMAZING designer!! I am bad about getting excited and not having a "plan" before diving in unfortunately 😕 Always great advice. Thank you for this amazing video.
I was born in '82! Millennial here!! 🤩
Love Jack Barnwell! He is talented, smart and has a great personality. The gardens he designs are amazing! I love when he uses big slabs of stone for stairways.
Always enjoy Jack! Tour yesterday was great. I do think folks who love the outdoors should do more investigation into how many of the plants are of little to no value to wildlife and some are even invasive which destroy native habitats. Would like to see plant lovers do more to intersperse keystone native trees plants and shrubs.
Jack - Would love it if you would do something on available lighting for the home owner - perhaps at Janey's - and show and talk about the various structures
Aquapots on order!! Fantastic for Texas
It true! So much more available. I started gardening when I was a teenager but a lot of people don’t start until there older. Then they discover what they’ve
been missing 🌿🌿🌿
Great video.🌻💚
Awesome share, watching now.
I can't wait to get back to your garden. It's really awesome watching it come together. I know you need to mix and meet new people and you need the break. Hope you have the best time !
Love Jack!
Jack is such a fantastic landscaper, I wished I could go to Mackinac island . Some of the gardens he has done there are magnificent.
Lynne here from Canada. As soon as you said my new best friend I thought ‘ Don’t tell Robbie’ 😂 these videos from the flower show have been fantastic. Great inspiration.
Without his signature hat, Jack is almost unrecognizable. The cap makes him look even younger. 😃
You've given me courage to think more about incorporating roses into my garden. The only one I've had success with is 'Therese Bugnett' shrub rose. I also have some DA 'Queen of Sweden' roses (one died and I'll need to replace). I'm excited about the PW Reminiscent roses.
Love Jack! I'm from MI and his Mackinac Island gardens are to die for! Love his IG channel and his creative projects.
Gah! Still kicking myself for not recognizing him and talking to him on Saturday! He is such a amazing talent and inspiration!!! Totally bummed fan-girl here! (well...fan-old-lady)! LOL!
Ask him if PW can ship to zone 9b a couple months earlier. By the time they ship to our zone, it's almost too hot. If they shipped in March, instead of May, the plants would have a shot at establishing before the heat shuts them down until October.
Vote BFF Robbie! We need t-shirts 😂😂😂😂
I remember years ago when Laura walked around Mackinac island. I became such a fan! My dream is to go to Mackinac someday! Once again Janey you did an awesome job interacting with Jack! You make it feel like everyone is your best friend❤
That video was my first introduction to both of them!
Good morning Janey... This video was a joy to watch. Love, love, love, love Jack Barnwell
Hey Jack !! Where is your hat 🤠 !! I almost didn't recognize you without it ! LOL 😂 Happy to see you with " our girl" Janey ... she is sweet isn't she! 💗 From Georgia with love ❤
I’m a poor plant passionate people… lol. I wish I could go to all of these beautiful places and see all of these things! Thanks for sharing so I can get a glimpse of it through your camera lens. ❤
Love Jack Barnwell, Love that pergola, love his advice, although some of us are on such a tight budget we garden from year to year without that planning….it is what it is! Utadvice well given
I’ve seen Jack’s work in Michigan and Florida amazing stuff. AquaPot insert is a hot product can’t wait to revamp my old planters. Great interview.
Hi Janey 🌺.The aquapots look very good for plants and the gardens designed by jack in Mackinac Island are amazing . Have awonderful day .🌺🌻🌺
Okay, what happened to the old cowboy hat? The Greek hat is good but I was wondering if there was a story about the replacement. He’s great and enthusiastic no matter what hat he is wearing. Great “best” friend a gardener could have, thanks.
Jack can you please do a video on the awesome outdoor furnishings you mentioned. We miss your videos!
Love Jack! Love to watch his Mackinac Island videos along with the Tampa videos!!
Hey Janie, ask your new best friend how he will deal with Japanese Beatles on his roses
Milky spore. Takes a season or two to really take hold but it 100% works
I'm going with assassin bugs for my area this yr...I'm on the shore in Maryland. I can't afford milky spore for 2 acres. Plus I have cats, I don't want them walking on it.
Christopher from Grow With Me just mentioned on yesterday's video he sprays weekly. Captain Jack's and neem oil, I think?
@@Edu_Kate
Neem oil did nothing. I had to get out there early morning to drop them in soapy water. They were on everything last yr, I've not had them that bad ever. I seen on Gardeners Workshop, the female lays up to 60,000 eggs, as many as 3 times over summer.
Morning.
When I caught glimpses of him in your previous videos I thought I hope she gets an interview with him. Love Jack!
I hinted at it all weekend. 😉😆🙌🏼
Great interview!!! I love Jack’s work!!! What an amazing time you have had at this wonderful show.
Very informative interview Janey- I like your new best friend Jack. He's very interesting.
That was awesome! You are so friendly and kind. Great job you 2.
Good morning 🌞. Jack is great thanks Jannie.😊
Jack! The Prince Of Mackinaw Island. 🤴
That’s so funny he mentioned the birdhouse on the trellis. The first time I saw it on IG it reminded me of my friend Paula who did the exact thing about 15 years ago. I’ll see if I can find the photo
I would love a video on the cool outdoor furnishing Jack was mentioning. Or a link to the site that does such amazing outdoor living products.
I love Jack! Wish he did more content!
Thanks for the great interview! Love Jack! I may try a couple of the aqua pots this year. Couple questions…how often should you fertilize the water and do the aqua pots come in different sizes? With the fertilizer, it’s not the same as a weekly liquid fertilizer, so maybe a few times during the season?
@JackBarnwellDesign Would you be MY BEST FRIEND too??? 😊
John Barnwell does beautiful work down here in Naples,Fl.
I have to agree about local garden centers. Same old, same old, nothing catches my eye anymore, I noticed this a lot last year. I'd go into my favorite places and saw the same plants I've seen forever 🙄 I've lost my enthusiasm for gardening.
Great video I love me some Jack🩷
Was nice to see you two and get all this information 😊
How does Robbie feel about being replaced as your bestie? 😂😆😂 Totally kidding, great video with Jack and I love your content.
My question is how does he live in Florida and work in Michigan? 😮 thanks for the interview, very interesting.
So fun!
I’m a way better indoor gardener lol but I’m working on it. I have to try an aqua pot this year. I’m really into potting plants and it gets so hot and having to water them 2 or more times a day some days gets time consuming.
I am looking forward to looking for new plants, BUT most garden centers have minimums. They can't just buy one plant for one person. Same with annuals often they need to buy flats of plants and only if they're lucky will the sell the balance of a flat when you only take perhaps 3 or 6 of them. I'd love to be in touch with a garden center that would order me say, 1 one gallon Caryopteris. Gardening in Zone 9 Napa Valley.
Great video! I'm trying to find the aqua pot inserts up here in Canada! Can order from states but the shipping nuts.
Afternoon Everyone 🥰
Good morning, 9:30 here 😊 From the shore in Maryland.
Had to pause the video to go purchase Flavorette Pear 🎉
My question for Jack. How about different sizes of aqua pot inserts and I’m concerned about vigorous roots interfering with the insert.
1981 is the first year of Millennials
Asombroso
Are there limits to the size (height and/or width) of planter the AquaPot inserts are compatible with? For example, if I have a 36” tall planter would I be able to make it work? Or if I had a 24” wide planter? Thank you!
Do jack barnwells grandparents still live on mackinaw island
Liz from Biggs here. Where can I get aquapots in my area . Chico?
I miss his other hat.
Do the portapots come in different sizes for smaller pots? Love your channel!
Sorry meant aquapots
Where can we get the inserts ?.
You have to watch where you put bird houses, they(sparrows) poop everywhere
You are both younger than my daughter.
What happened to Robbie????
i'm a ppp
mlilinial is 1981 and 1996 you both are early milinials
Over ambition and not enough research been there done that.
You both millenials. Millenials born 1980-1995
...JB is the absolute best!...I'm an avid fan (and follower.) 🤠🫶 How cool he was able to be there at the NWFGS. I would be BESIDE myself if i got to meet him! 🤗🙌💞👩🏼🌾💚 =^..^=
