  • Arwen is a 15' yawl designed by famous New Zealand boat designer, John Welsford. In this video, part one of three, we sail over to Cawsand Bay on our way to an overnight stop on Cellars Beach at the mouth of the river Yealm.
I built Arwen over two and a half years in my garage and she was launched in 2010. Since then we have cruised the rivers and coastal waters of South Devon and Cornwall. You can follow our adventures at Arwen's blog www.arwensmeanderings.blogspot.co.uk or here on her CZcams channel where you can download videos or themed playlists / plymouthwelshboy .
In episode two we sail across a gusty Plymouth Sound and Wembury bay to anchor just off the little beach where we ground Arwen and then set up the boom tent for the overnight stop. Episode three sees us sailing back to Queen Ann's Battery marina via Drakes island.

If you would like me to address a particular dinghy cruising aspect in a forthcoming video - drop me a line below and if you have any nice, constructive, friendly advice to improve my sailing skills, please do let me know and thank you.
Fair winds, good sailing, stay safe and see you out on the water sometime. Thanks for joining us on this voyage.
    Steve and Arwen
