    Ive had my RG570 since 1991. Was my first "real" guitar. I was 12. Great guitars man👍

    I just ordered a Road Flare Red (i'm in the USA).Over the past 20 years I've had like 4 Desert Yellows, one white, one purple...but never a road flare red. I can't wait! A hard case would have been nice, but all things considered, these new ones are a good price for a Japan made RG. They're not price gouging like many guitar companies these days.

    Resurrection of an old thread!
    I'm holding my yellow one at this very moment. Absolutely love it. I also have an '87 that was my only guitar for about three years. Man, that one is extra - just extra! Lol
    The '87 trem is smoother and returns to pitch perfectly. I have a few guitars that are always in tune when I grab them off the wall, or out of the case, and its my old 550 and my PRS Singlecut.
    My old one is black and despite its dings and dent (that soft basswood will get you every time!) it is absolutely perfect in its function. Still has the stock electronics.
    This new one (2019 I think) plays and sounds just as perfectly. Of course, it's not broken in like the '87, and that's mainly with the trem. I just need to take an afternoon and fiddle with it. I am fully confident that it will get there. In the meantime, if I do a dive, I just squeeze in an upward tug of arm and she's right back in tune.
    Around $100-120 USD (heck, I'm not sure what I paid) for the same old-style hardshell case with the leather grip and leather-bound ends and all is well in the world.
    Absolutely fantastic guitars that work for so many styles of music. Very versatile. I don't even shred actually. Classic rock and blues, along with some mellow clean stuff.

    I have the Genesis RG570 Jewel Blue.. It's an amazing instrument.. everything is flawless. The pups are ok for stock. I'm used to Seymours and Dimarzio's, which i have on all my Ibanez guitars. Will be putting a set of Seymours on mine in the near future, but that's just personal taste. I just can't get over how incredible these are. It's been 30 years since i"ve played an original.. I have forgotten just how superior they were.

      Now that guitar is amazing looking. I'd love to come try it out but i'm in America haha. I just wanted to see a small review on the new RG's and found this channel. Supposedly those RG3770's are only available in Europe and i'm the kind of guy who has to try a guitar first before i buy it. They seem to be very similar to the the old 770's.

    The RG570 is the best of the 2. the RG550 is NOT the most revered. The RG570 in 1998 cost $700.00. I know because I purchased one. so if the new one is even close to that model, then it is a steal.

    • @POLLOTROM
      @POLLOTROM Před 6 lety +1

      I bought a new RG 570 in 1991 it costed me around $650. and with Ibanez hard case.

    • @woolgum
      @woolgum Před 5 lety +1

      All RG5XX are the same quality. The XX is just the specific specs where RG550 just means pickguard and HSH.

  • @viennamartin2114
    @viennamartin2114 Před 6 lety +3

    They do NOT have the original Pickups! They have V7/V8 that were used on the later 550 generations, the famous originals were V1/V2 ... only the S1 has not changed....

    • @viennamartin2114
      @viennamartin2114 Před 6 lety

    • @DoomBunnyKiller00
      @DoomBunnyKiller00 Před 6 lety +1

      According to the Ibanez wikia the V1/V2's are Alnico 5 and the V7 is Ceramic but the V8 is Alnico 5.

    Oof, that road flare red doesn't look right at all. They still look like killer guitars all around though. I have a nearly mint 1987 RG550RFR that I just refuse to play at this point haha. Might have to grab one of these pups.

    • @JgHaverty
      @JgHaverty Před 6 lety +1

      Well I have about 30 others to "bang up". I play her from time to time; but I like her safe and sound haha. Instrument vs artwork is a real debate once they get over 30 years old.

    • @JgHaverty
      @JgHaverty Před 6 lety +1

      Yeah, most of em are case queens, but not because Im afraid to play or anything; just really depends on my mood. I have a j custom RG7CT I got from angel vivaldi, I play the shit out of that thing; but its already beat to fuck haha. I have 2 other 550's and 4 570's that I can beat around on. No need to wail on the near mint rg550rfr lol
      Pristine RG550's are moving in the "collectible" territory; if not now then very soon. Same era jems have skyrocketed in the past couple years; RG should follow.

    • @SteveStell
      @SteveStell Před 6 lety +5

      It's hard to photograph Road Flare Red accurately. Sometimes they look pink, sometimes orange. Some old ones can also end up fading into a "hot peach" color. In person the new Road Flare red looks fucking sick.

    • @JgHaverty
      @JgHaverty Před 6 lety +1

      I have 3 87 rfr's; the reissues are "off". Im aware of the difficulty photographing, but they just dont look quite right in comparison to a "real" rfr. Same with those 777 lng reissues.

    The pickups on these Genesis' are crap. And also, the bridge sits too low on the body and will pivot on the guitar body instead of on the knife edge thus causing premature wear on the knife edges. I know because I am having this problem now. Still waiting for my order of wooden shims from Stewmac so I can fix the problem.

    • @ryant3600
      @ryant3600 Před 5 lety +1

      um.. The original edge is probably the best Trem ever developed. They don't sit to low at all, and they fit and work perfectly. The pups aren't all bad either, especially for stock pups.
