How to be a chad:
Step 1: topple a monarchy
Step 2: save a kingdom from a genocide
Step 3: stab your sword into a throne
Step 4: establish that the kingdom will have no ruler
Step 5 (MOST IMPORTANT): moonwalk in place
Establishing the kingdom with no ruler is pretty dumb lol. I get that the whole point of this game is to fight the powers that be and oppress (literally fought fascists 🙄) but that's just dumb lol.

I like the twist that in this game, WE as humanity are the eldritch horror that drove the well-intentioned eccentric researcher to fatalistic spite.
Despair at our OWN sins as a species, by our own godly power, is the all-consuming eldritch madness brought on by uncaring higher beings in this setting.
Using the perspective of far smaller and weaker creatures than us to tell this common story and recast us in the position normally reserved for beings far beyond us, it makes one think about how, as small and helpless as we are, we are NOWHERE NEAR the smallest and most helpless of the universe's creatures, and we need to use what powers we have, small as they may seem to us, fight for a better future despite the crushing weight of what's going on in the world, and to never fall into despair to the point where we can't imagine making things better. From a mouse's perspective, even the most pathetic of us are incomprehensible gods.
Aquilas reminds me of W.D. Gaster from Handplates. A sorrowful genius with an unwavering resolve.
The horror elements remind me of Fear and Hunger
i know its not modest to leave a second comment, but god this game had such great messaging all around. It had such a great story (obviously inspired by Berserk, which i am not mad at all about, because this at least ended) The sound, character, map, scenery and just about everything design was great, to the last little detail (even the text may i say, i found it very endearing that it was characterized so much). The characters werent likable to the max, they were lovable though, like at some point of the game you just start caring for the character's fates (mainly Vern's). The scene where Vern lets the pest control guy go is just the climax of the story for me, its like he lets go of the hatred, anger and trauma. And even the end is kind of bitter sweet really, we know nothing of the fate of Rodentia, Siobhan never reconnected with her mother and never became a plaguemaster, Vern didnt get his revenge, nor will he ever really get it and he's still travelling searching for peace, Gwen is just kind of left without a clear goal. Only Bruno really got what he wanted, help out Vern and the party and take back his kingdom. Thats all really, the game really looks ballanced, never too hard nor easy, just right in the middle.
But yeah also it is just a game with silly rodents so i love it already, i also really love the lore of this game as it runs deep.

But seriously, this game has great writing, only complaint is it feels like at the times the writer wrote "TAKE DOWN THE SYSTEM" on a brick and chucked it through my window, or in other words, it feels a bit preachy. Otherwise, great writing, great worldbuilding, great characters. Giving this game a "The designer should write a novel" out of 10.

This series actually hooked me, which is rare to say the least. All the characters actually had some really beautiful development while the combat, despite being turn based which usually bores me, was fresh and kept me engaged. 9/10 game at least; certainly a hidden gem.

in Felvidek you play as a drunk, recently divorced knight trying to find their lover and figure out whats going on in the world, the combat and music is peak, with a runtime about the same as small saga if not a smidge shorter depending on how you play your cards

Lmao for me small saga was hell because i missed so much side quests. The lamia fight made me wraithe in anger and die so msny times lmao but the yellow god one was still easy/decent.
