You are having the wrong conversation. The question is whether or not Biden can handle the job, for 4 more years. From what I saw on the debate stage, I say no. He needs to take a cognitive test and do more interviews that aren't just him reading off a teleprompter. If he is in the middle stages of dementia, which he appears to be, it's criminal to let him continue
I wouldn't vote for Trump if they brought Biden in on life support. Trump is not the answer for our country. Unfortunately many Americans don’t share my sentiments.
Exactly. Whether is Biden or Biden's replacement, I'm voting against the rise of fascism. Republicans want to take this country back to the 1850s. We can not let that happen!
The fact we didn't have an actual primary, that Biden has very high disapproval, and we're only now kinda-sorta having the discussion -- and 90% of comments are "Well, Trump is worse!" with a ton of implicit "And by even having this discussion puts us at risk!", you'll forgive me for thinking that we're very nearly hitting a critical mass where neither party can have the discussion. Gambling the entire country on a candidate who couldn't clear the 2020 primary without Obama, who ran an idle general campaign, doesn't bother with press or super bowl interviews, and who the establishment decided to prop up by pretending there were no challengers and record/near record disapproval rates, and is demonstrably unable to speak coherently while Trump lazily rants, lies, and cons people is insanity. There's no platform. No message. And a candidate with increasing amounts of dementia, complete with high variability of cognitive abilities, decreasing abilities to communicate clearly, and a clear inability to factor new knowledge into old world views. And whenever people try to discuss these concerns, it ain't conversation they get, it's shame and force and accusation. Respectfully, where you see a contrast to be proud of, I see a D/D- next an F. Better, sure, but the fact we're a whisker away from having to explain a 10% F and a 59% F are actually very different, instead of putting someone capable of actually fighting Trump isn't a comfort, it's a constant pressure towards having an existential crisis because as up the wall I am with the Cult of MAGA, my homeland and future are being gambled on a demented man in public office running a campaign won't have another vacant expression, utterly lose the thread mid-sentence, or have a mumbly, incoherent ramble before a camera every minute of every day between July and Election Day. This is an unreasonable wager. And we're barely able to have a discussion on that, still.
@@dracodraco1982 "There's no platform. No message." Its just that you disagree with the platform and message. You don't even want us stopping Nazi Russia from killing everyone who won't join the Russia system of oligarchy corruption. Right, they've stuck with their disgrace of a candidate, even after his r ape convictions, and his felony convictions. They've gone over the cliff with him. Part of me thinks that the part of the independents who wouldn't vote for Biden because of his age would get behind another younger candidate. So not only would they get the Democrat vote, and the much needed independents, they may even get some of the young vote, completely stuffing trump who'll just be on stage looking awful and slow. Gavin Newsom maybe?
When the Democratic Party has the discussion about the Republican Party having that discussio will be meaningless. Not because the Reps need to have that discussion, but because the impact of the Dems talking about the Reps needing that discussion is zilch. We've already had that discussion and people have drawn their conclusion one way or another.
Eventually, when they'll get tired of getting their arse constantly handed over to them, they shall. And of course they'll toss "dear leader" under the bus. Because they'll get fed up even by blondo and its bs to the burst.

I can't believe that an old man having a bad night because he was unwell, gets more coverage than a criminal, narcissistic psychopath, lying through his teeth about everything under the sun...it's ridiculous.
What gets me is how everybody forgets that *the convicted felon* is 78 years *old* and has to have his pimped out golf cart to get around his stupid golf courses.
An 'old man having a bad night because he was unwell? If that's all that you saw, you're as delusional as MAGA. He was sundowning. Trump is not better in any way but don't delude yourself that there is nothing wrong with Biden.
Biden should have agreed to the drug test on the condition that Trump got tested as well. It's always projection with that lot. And showing a dose of niquil in Biden's system would be exculpatory.
People do it all the time. Biden, himself, did 4 years ago. We don't need to pretend Biden isn't extremely unwell. The stance is "I would rather have a corpse than a fascist."
Plenty of Democrats can show Trump is lying and get that across clearly. Ironically, when Newsom and Buttigieg stated their support for Biden, they got more across in 2 minutes than Biden in 45.
When it is your turn to speak, you ask was that 3 lies or 4 lies in that 2-minute statement? Then you proceed to ignore what they said (lies don't require responses) and talk your own talk. Do not engage with the liar, do not respond to the lies except to call them lies. You give a liar power over the conversation if you do.

Unfortunately, the people who put Biden in office, the people who voted against Trump and not necessarily for Biden, disagree with you. We need a candidate that won't lose them. They will decide the election, whether they vote for the Democratic candidate, a third party candidate or just stay home in disgust
To a non-Trump Republican this sounds like you are in a cult. I understand that you are saying a vote for Biden is one for democracy over tyranny, but to phrase it this way makes you sound as irrational as a MAGAt.
That's why they do this. Makes me want to go 'you know, I would really ditch Biden if I got to vote for Nikki Haley…' Why should they be the only ones who get to sow chaos?
It's the exact same sideshow it has been for decades already. They just don't bother hiding it anymore. I even remember what would eventually be called the Unitary Executive theory being discussed while Reagan was still in office, when I was way too young to appreciate what was actually being said. There is absolutely nothing new here but the honesty.
I am tired of listening to ageist comments from ignorant childish adults. I’ve lived in countries that value the wisdom of their elders. America does not. I may not like the country the way it is now, but it can and will get worse if Trump is elected again. I’ll be voting Democrat for the first time in my life, and I am grateful for the right to do so. Trump still has sentencing in front of him, thankfully. *stepping away from my soapbox now*
@@kendallsmith1458 Biden has surrounded himself with intelligent people in cabinet positions…the Donald fired anyone that disagreed with him. If Biden is unable to finish a second term there will be intelligent leadership stepping up to the plate. The Donald wants to be a dictator…full stop. I understand where you are coming from, but when youre going against someone like Trump, you cant be all soft spoken and slow. You need to put his schoolyard bully self in his place. I could make Trump cry in a debate, and im not a politician. Bidens been in office my whole life. If hes got life in there, hes gotta bring it out and show the world that Trump is a weak bully who isnt even smart enough to write his name on the board. Its not like we have great joy at Biden's feebleness. It sucks! But cmon, at least WANT to see some fight from him.
An old man who fumbled debate questions is better than a convicted felon. Project 2025 alone should terrify people enough to stay with and vote for Biden. Our democracy and freedom are on the line, I can live with an old decent president who ain’t perfect. Vote Blue, vote Biden 2024!!!
A debate like this is not part of a president's job. Talk for 2 minutes and then get insulted for a whole minute. Hearing 2 minutes of constant lies and have 1 minute to reply. Trump used his "strength" of lying, insulting, deflecting to the max. Biden is not strong in a debate setting. He was also not strong in the debates with democratic candidates in 2020. Remembering his SOTU performance and his campaign speech after the debate, gives me more than enough confidence in his current ability. These speeches are far more representing presidential tasks. Ofcourse, a lot can happen in 4 years. I am convinced his team can handle that. Kamala can take over and will be completely up to speed and she will inherit Biden's team. With a new person, you will never know how it works out but she is for sure far more qualified, competent, ethical and intelligent than any of Trump's vp candidates. The names that float around for Trump's vp make me feel unwell. Replacing Biden now would also mean losing all the strong points of the current administration.
@@quintrankid8045 And Hillary swamped 45 on 3 separate occasions, Obama got trounced twice (once each run), and on and on. Debates are meaningless soap operas, just quaint theater.
So disappointed in the entire pile of rhetoric around ejecting President Biden over his poor debate performance while refusing to acknowledge the Project 2025 in the room. Like eject the baby, the bathwater, the tub, the room, everything all at the same time to make sure we lose everything. Heaviest of sighs.
The conversation is not unreasonable - it's being had specifically because of how high the stakes are. No one talking about replacing biden is following up with,"'or I'm voting for Trump". That said, I think it was just a bad night and Biden still has some fire left.
It's embarrassing, quite frankly. Biden stutters and has low energy in one debate and people are pushing the panic button. That just makes the party look weak and shows a real lack of unity. Trump lied every 90 seconds and dodged question after question, and people are thinking sky is falling because Biden stuttered. That is just so stupid. As Rick Wilso from the Lincoln Project said, hold the damn line. We want to beat Trump, we need to get behind Biden. There's a lot more of us than there are Trump supporters. We need to show our strength in numbers and stop panicking after one bad night.
Uh, if we replace Biden, that really doesn't change anything for someone who votes based on Project 2025 concerns. We can walk and chew bubblegum, or replace Biden and still promote awareness about 2025 at the same time.
Agreed, replace Joe with someone that can coherently make these points. I couldn't even follow what Joe was trying to say most of the time. How would an uninformed voter know if Trump was lying if Joe couldn't counter them coherently. @psilynt1
"When are the Republicans going to have discussions about the giant list..." Never. It's been this way since Reagan, and it escalated hugely under Donald. The Republican can do practically anything now, the Democrat has to be impossibly perfect.
Therin lies the problem, that Dems really aren't seeing. People who are willing to go to any lengths at all, including throwing the truth, law and order, their eyes, ears, and morality away for "cause" they feel is ultimate, against rational, reasonable people, who just keep praying for some semblance of normalcy, but who are barely willing to do anything beyond vote and hope for the best. Does ANYONE else see the issue here ?!
You know what would worry me - if the GOP did replace Trump. There is a sizeable number of Republicans who simply can not vote for Trump. Swap in a candidate who is less shady, but more evil, and it gives them permission to return to the fold. Sure, Biden can beat Trump. But could he beat a less odious candidate? It starts to get real murky. The bad debate is just an excuse. The question of whether or not Biden should run again has been floating around ever since he broke his plege not to seek a second term.
There's no one that could take President Boden's place, but I was horrified that some pundits posted that Democrats must replace President BEFORE the "debate" was even over!!!!! 😳
The names being thrown out are either people Biden beat in 2020 or people who have said they’re not willing to jump in at this point. It seems like the people calling for Biden to step aside are the exact same people who have always wanted that. Is there really anyone new?
Unfortunately, if Biden is not running, we lose the name-recognition factor. I may not be a Dem, but I want Biden to be the candidate. Besides, he was old when he ran in the primaries and even in the states where people were trying to send a message about Gaza still had him win more than 70% of those state's votes. (New Hampshire was the lowest, with 63%, but he wasn't even on the ballot. Those were write-in votes.) Trump didn't do nearly as well in his primaries.

To me, having these discussions show greater loyalty to the democratic process and our core values. The Republicans have made it clear that they're about loyalty to the candidate rather than the democratic process and fallen away from their original values of freedom and liberty.
As part of that, I'm hearing a lot of talk from the GOP that will likely lead to another big election denial episode, and all that goes with it, if they don't win the election. Its DISGUSTING and all fueled by you know who,

Obama was the one telling putin that he could do better after he was elected again. It's sad how easily mulnipulated democrats are even after the truth comes out for everyone to see.
I have just spent time researching what living with a persistent stammer means, as President Biden does. The symptoms are everything that made Biden underperform in such an obvious way. Grimacing, facial tics, stumbling with thoughts and words etc. Causes? Certainly tiredness, stress and feeling unwell are on the list. Biden has lived with this disability all his life and not let this get in the way of becoming a great leader. All power to him! Go Joe.
CNN should have cut Trump's mic whenever he did not answer the question. They kept giving him air time to continue the lies. CNN also overreacted after Cohen's testimony and the jury still convicted Trump. The best debater would have had issues dealing with an narcissistic liar. YES YOU CAN, JOE.
Not a Democrat, not a Republican, not a fan of Biden, but so far pleased with his performance. Did Biden have a bad night? Yes. Was it a function of old age? I don't think so. I've spent my whole life around a family member that stutters. If you want to create a situation where he will just shut down, tell him he only has 2 minutes to get his ideas across. That is what I observed. That format was a handicap for someone with a speech impediment. When the debate first started and Biden was trying to talk fast to hit his time targets, I knew it was going to end like that. Experience told me. I actually thought he performed better than I expected after I realized the handicap. How do you know Biden still has a quick mind? Because when Trump tried to defend himself on the General Kelly topic, Trump said, "I fired that guy" and Biden quickly came back with, "So you admit he said it". Trump had that look on his face he gets when he's thinking "busted, but who cares?"
I agree. Is he slower than before, yes. Does he have exceptional understanding of the situation? I believe he does. When he 1st came out, I thought man, he looks tired. Then I remembered his schedule from the week before! 4 intercontinental flights in a week or 10 days... and not for a beach and umbrella; but w high stakes meeting with leaders around the world! I get sick every time I have one 4 hr round trip in a week! I am confident in his decisions. Ready to vote for him again. Not based on a bad debate performance; esp because thats NEVER been his forte. Based on his RECORD. Wasn't my 1st choice the first time. He is now tho. If he chooses to continue, or not, he has my support and gratitude for what he's been able to accomplish so far!
The whole format of the debate was horrible. Two minutes to answer a question and one minute to reply barely gave enough time to complete any answers that required any amount of thought. It's as if they only wanted sound bites rather than a real debate. Trump "did better" only because he didn't actually answer any of the questions. He just just kept repeating the same rote talking points regardless of what questions were asked.
@@alindasue Biden tried to answer the questions and give references backing up his answers. Trump talked about Biden and called him a liar, said he's the worst, with zero facts or references. It was so predictable.

Voter apathy is by far one of the biggest problems facing the country. After the entire GOP, at least. Don't tell us to shut up and stop acting like babies. Biden's whole campaign is two things. "I'm not Trump who will destroy democracy' and 'Abortion'. Running on the second when it was your term when we lost abortion in the first place? Laughable.
Good point. The discussions show Democrats are serious about putting forward the best candidate. The Republicans just want that dedicated fan base Trump has. They don't care what's best for the country.
I haven't been shy about complaining about Biden's performance in the debate, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm voting for whoever the Dems run because I'm voting against Project 2025 and the people that will make that happen. The Republicans could run a candidate I liked and I'd still vote against them as long as Project 2025 is part of their platform.

When a physician does a work up on an individual they speak to the person and to their family, they do a thorough physical examination and extensive testing; then a physician combines the data and THEN makes a diagnosis. Those who are throwing the diagnosis of dementia around and applying to EITHER of the presidential candidates should just sit down and shut up. Unless you have the qualifications and experience in diagnosing dementia and you actually know the person and interact with them on a daily basis….you don’t know siccum. President Biden is old, he’s not feeble minded. I'm not capable of diagnosing Joe, but I've known some people whose mental condition deteriorated in their final years and I see some similarities. As far as what he's accomplished, I'm not very happy with that, and at the moment, I wonder if he's really running things. This isn't so much about evaluating him the way a medical professional would as it is making a personal judgement based on experience. Not having notes didn't bother Trump a bit, he just spewed the same lies he spews at all his rallies. Notes with factual statistics would have been helpful for Joe, because he wasn't making everything up and was trying to answer the questions. That requires thought!

This whole election is about style Vs substance. I think that the next time anyone wants to talk to me about Bidens poor debate performance, I'm going to say, "Did he say grab them be the ...". Trump is a bad performance all day every day.
Not to mention that the Democratic party is a big tent party. Even under the best circumstances, there's going to be a WIDE range of views among Democrats, so it's important to make sure people feel that the party will let them have their voices heard to ensure that they know the party is at least theoretically on their side.
I feel the same, it seem that Beau and most of the commenters think that all Americans are like them and actually care about substance, when in reality a vast swath of this country simply goes off vibes, and will simply choose to just stay home
Spot on Beau. Replacing Biden this late in the game is like America committing suicide! Christ... The guy had a bad night. The next day in NC he was totally on his game & the crowd was way more energetic than Trump's rally was. Bottom Line... I don't care how you feel, either Vote Blue or prepare for the worst thing you could imagine with another 4 years of a pissed off Trump only out for retribution for himself. Might as well kiss your ass goodbye in other words.
I agree, Beau. These discussions are happening in good faith. I am 100% for Biden because I genuinely support most of everything he has done, and he has surrounded himself with highly competent and knowledgeable people. The United States would be in very good hands under a second Biden Administration.
I was (and am) disturbed at how so many jumped on the Replace Biden bandwagon so quickly; however, your point is valid and well taken, Beau. I think in the long run the discussion amongst Democrats will have a positive effect on independent voters far outweighing the impact of Trump doing Trump as expected, and declaring himself victorious.
People need to know that nobody else has a presidential campaign budget. Whatever campaign funds they have cannot suddenly be shifted to a presidential run.
@@alistairmackintosh9412 If they don't put in real, actual work from the ground up over years, then I'm not paying any of them the slightest attention. Just because they can all make it out for their whole presidential sideshow act every 4 years doesn't mean I have to take a single one of them seriously.
@@jonlittle5032And a strong candidate - are we really talking about anyone _other_ than Gavin Newsome - would pull in campaign funds hand over fist. Not that they would need much. The Trump campaign's ad buys have been a small fraction of what they claim to have raised, they have very few campaign offices in battleground states, and no staff to man them if they did open them. In other words, it looks like Trump fundraising numbers are as phony as everything else about him. And of course, this would be a passing of the torch- not a contested convention.
I don't know what to say about people that feel the need to talk about Biden as though he is a washed up loser. We're sorry then that competence and success doesn't sound like Hitler on a schizoid rant.
Most of those pushing for him to drop out are those who are afraid that He is going to beat the convict they want. Anyone that realizes what the job actually means, should want anything other than the train wreck wanting to finish running our economy off the cliff and keep himself out of jail.
Look... if you think he can still win, that's fine. Calling the people who don't think he can win Trumpists is why the rest of us have been calling you Blue MAGA for years. You don't care about party unity, and you've been willing to gamble the future of this country on your own narcissism for the last five years. If it's too late to replace him now, that's your fault.
Jiminy Christmas, that's binary logic. Liberals seem to love binary logic. "If you're against the proxy war against Russia, you're Pootin's pal." "If you're not for unfit-for-office Biden, you're probably for the attempted autocrat."
I want Trump to win and I sorta feel like if Biden goes it will say something to the people who democratically voted for him in the primaries. Well, maybe not technically for him, but like AOC would say, I'm directionaly correct. Anyway, this would worry me because the people made their choice and this would be a threat to our democracy.
I love that I can count on Beau having a video around 10pm PDT time before I hit the sack! This amazing man keeps me informed beyond my wildest dreams! Much appreciation to Beau and his team!
He is the best, can't miss his videos, he keeps me going with his upbeat nature and kindness. Occasionally you can see him steaming inside but some how keeps it all together. So thankful for all he does. He's Beaurrific!
I am dissatisfied with Biden for several different reasons, but I (like many many other people) know that "The Other Guy" is way way worse. When election day comes, Biden will get my vote (even though I will be sick to my stomach that I'm voting for a guy that is supporting an ongoing genocide, his border policy is horrifically cruel, and he doesn't act with enough boldness to resist the Republicans' destruction of democracy).
No, Beau. The Republican Party had this conversation after Access Hollywood. They decided to stay with their guy. Let’s hope that if the Democrats make the same decision, it turns out better.
Did they really? I distinctly remember everyone EXCEPT the Republican party having this conversation after the Access Hollywood tapes. The Republicans were too busy doubling down on looking for dirt on Hillary Clinton to reflect on the faults of their own candidate.
I dont necessarily doubt the intelligence of people per say. But the intelligence of the people who STILL at this point are undecided? Oh yea. They are easily swayed by simple things.
I question the intelligence of people all the time. It's like an hourly thing, at a minimum. Most people are idiots, that's just a fact of life. And election season brings them out of the woodwork.
I agree, being able to confront problems and adjust accordingly is a sign of strength and integrity. As Beau said when have we ever seen that kind of soul searching from the GOP?
Here’s the thing, democrats are way more willing to give criticism and not vote for a candidate they think are bad vs republicans who will vote for their terrible candidates just because they are republicans. I might not be a big fan of Biden and think he should have dropped out earlier but I will vote for him over Trump any day. A trump presidency will destroy this country and nearly did last time
Republicans were still calling that 'the Democrat purity test' at least into 2012. Apparently, it never occurred to any of them that 'fall in line behind whoever you're old to support' is a pretty disgusting strategy. On every level.
Yeah, basically it's a way to shoot themselves in the foot. Who else is going to acquire sudden national and international visibility, round up a huge pile of cash to campaign AND a campaign team, get the word out to convince people-- in 4 months? In this scenario, just not realistic.
That wasn't a "bad day" but an unmitigated disaster. Remember when Howard Dean made that "whoop!" and lost his bid because of it? Or Romney's "notebooks full of women"? Hillary's "deplorables? Yeah, one line, one moment cost them each the election. This was 90 minutes of bad moments.
@@TheHauntedKiwi lol, thankfully most democrats have not been a fan of biden running again from the beginning. there are, however, a few nutters in every group 🙂
If it was just one bad performance people would not be talking about replacing him as a candidate. To say the argument is because of just one bad performance is disingenuous at best.
I’m riding with Biden. One debate is not swaying my vote. He was on fire in NC. On an interesting note, my most MAGA cousin is PO’d that RFK was excluded from the debate and blamed Biden. He has no idea how they qualify to make the debate stage. I happily gave him the rules. But, he’s moved on from Trump. Biden could be a turnip and I'd still vote for him over Trump.
this debate was for the undecided not ppl like you and this debate did not help in any way
You are having the wrong conversation.

Because they do not support a president and his cronies complicit in genocide
The majority of Americans do share your sentiments. Now’s the time to volunteer to help get out the vote.
Wouldn’t you love if that was not a possibility.
I share your sentiments. I would vote for Howdy Doody if it helps defeat Trump. I'm voting for democracy!
Does Beau delete comments?
I'm in the anyone but Trump camp. Voting for Democracy not Dictatorship.
Exactly. Whether is Biden or Biden's replacement, I'm voting against the rise of fascism. Republicans want to take this country back to the 1850s. We can not let that happen!
The fact that you can discuss replacing Biden and not Trump is the difference between a Cult and a Party.
Bingo!
‼️This times a thousand!!!
you literally could not do this until we watched his brain melt on stage
@@dracodraco1982 "There's no platform. No message."
Its just that you disagree with the platform and message. You don't even want us stopping Nazi Russia from killing everyone who won't join the Russia system of oligarchy corruption. You think we have an oligarchy here but CEOs can't legally have people murdered here. You have no clue what you are rejecting.
The republicans will never have that conversation.
And?
Eventually, when they'll get tired of getting their arse constantly handed over to them, they shall. And of course they'll toss "dear leader" under the bus. Because they'll get fed up even by blondo and its bs to the burst.

How could anyone debate a pathological liar. I stand with Biden 💙
People do it all the time. Biden, himself, did 4 years ago. We don't need to pretend Biden isn't extremely unwell. The stance is "I would rather have a corpse than a fascist."
It's easy but only with real time fact checking... which CNN bailed on... because reasons 🤬
Plenty of Democrats can show Trump is lying and get that across clearly. Ironically, when Newsom and Buttigieg stated their support for Biden, they got more across in 2 minutes than Biden in 45.
I wanted Bernie, but I’ll settle for just a weekend to avoid fascist theft of the country.
When it is your turn to speak, you ask was that 3 lies or 4 lies in that 2-minute statement? Then you proceed to ignore what they said (lies don't require responses) and talk your own talk.

Because when Trump tried to defend himself on the General Kelly topic, Trump said, "I fired that guy" and Biden quickly came back with, "So you admit he said it". Trump had that look on his face he gets when he's thinking "busted, but who cares?"
All great points, thank you!

DO YOU?! Give us crappy candidates and he will. Do you really think this is an existential crisis? Then give us someone we can be enthused by someone who INSPIRES us.
@DennisMoore664 That's the thing... you can't even take what they say at face value! How many times have they said they wouldn't go after abortion, or mifeprestone, or whatever... and the next interview? It's yah, we're taking that too...

I thought Trump was pretty bad at the debate too. He went off topic almost every chance he had. Then the moderator would restate the question, give him another minute, and then he'd go off topic again.
He was terrible, Trump. No coherent message. No intention on answering questions. No need when the opponent is a corpse.
Here’s what I know:President Biden is old and has battled a speech impediment for his entire life, it’s a well known fact that President Biden is prone to making gaffes, President Biden has always had a tendency to ramble when he speaks, there have been several occasions where the president’s memory has failed him.
I’m a medical professional and another thing that I know FOR SURE is that you don’t diagnose people on the basis of watching them on TV. Evaluate what he has accomplished during his time in office and when you gather your facts don’t rely on social media, word of mouth or biased news broadcasts to mislead you.
I prefer to think of the people saying he has dementia as using the word in a colloquial sense rather than misusing the clinical meaning. YMWV.
@@quintrankid8045 As you said, you’re not capable of diagnosing dementia. Knowing some people who have shown similarities really isn’t saying very much. I’ve noticed some similarities in trump as well however you won’t hear me saying that he has dementia. My evaluation of President Biden is that he’s done a pretty good job overall. The immigration issue is of upmost importance and I was extremely disappointed when the bipartisan bill that Sen. Yeah, that is "old fashioned" now. That ended with Newt Gingrich during the Clinton era. Part of that Grover Norquist bunch of anti-American BS. If we ever remember that we are suppose to be "one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all" again that might come back. Not holding my breath though.

But, but...the Monarchist [formerly Republican] Party IS loyal, just not to America, not to the Constitution, not to decency nor law and order. They are loyal to a fault [i.e. Trump & MAGA]!
Is it enough to rate a debate performance as bad, just because an individual may have been caught off guard by an opponent who lied throughout the entire time, while evading and not answering a single question asked, how can anyone without notes be able to keep up with all that, I can say with confidence that even though I know the truth and what has taken place during the last 8 years, I wouldn't be able to counter all those lies in the time allowed.
The so called CNN moderators forced Biden to do the impossible. Fact check a prolific liar and answer a question in 2 min. I hate CNN
Not having notes didn't bother Trump a bit, he just spewed the same lies he spews at all his rallies. Notes with factual statistics would have been helpful for Joe, because he wasn't making everything up and was trying to answer the questions. That requires thought!
We Democrsts need to stop the built-in second guessing of ourselves, and be firm, act with resolve. Can't we take our brains there, just for once, and all work together on getting Biden back in office and once and for all clean up the GOP's ungodly mess?
I would rather focus on things that have a reasonably good chance at happening rather than the futile exercise of helping an old man's ego
I don't think it's about an old man's ego. He has been of great service to this country, and gotten a lot of stuff done. I'd like for him to keep it up.

You have more faith in the electorate than is justified. Trump was elected by popular vote the first time. If the voters are so smart why'd they do that?
Hello Beau,
I hope you are having a good Sunday.
Watching from north of the border. I wish I didn't have to care, but anything that happens in the States impacts us. Absolutely frightening to me how quickly things had devolved in the states under Trump, and emboldened radical elements which seem to becoming more widespread and commonplace. I feel like long into the future, the permanent and irreversible devolution in the US is only going to be one Republican win away. I'm honestly frightened for the future.
The first thing I noticed was the news media is taking quite a hit. They went with the side of replacing this guy. The people didn’t see it that way. They still knew Trump was bad for the country. Also like Beau said it was just a bad debate. I just felt like Joe was under the weather. Otherwise he would’ve just laughed it off because it was all lies coming at him. You can’t debate lies.
The news media should take a major hit, especially CNN. And MSNBC. Their attitude is Trump lies, so what else is new? That's just Trump. Biden stumbles and stutters and he should be kicked to the curb. I will never watch CNN ever again. They're horrible and they botched the debate
The news media no longer has any integrity. Now it's all about money not the truth.
Yeah, too big. It has always been a problem with them moving to the right.
Beau has more faith in the voters than I do.
Yeah. Thinking people made their decision long ago. All that's left are the loonies.
It's waaaaay too late to replace Biden. If the party really wanted to, it should've looked for potential candidates a year ago.
People need to know that nobody else has a presidential campaign budget. Whatever campaign funds they have cannot suddenly be shifted to a presidential run.
Also, no third party candidates are running a significant number of candidates for congress or state legislatures.
That campaign budget does not go away if the Dems get someone else. THAT money can and would be shifted.
@@alistairmackintosh9412 The point is a third party PRESIDENTIAL candidate could swing the election to Trump. Perot. 1992.
@@alistairmackintosh9412 If they don't put in real, actual work from the ground up over years, then I'm not paying any of them the slightest attention.
So I guess the choices, are an old man with a very capable VP versus a Benito Mussolini wannabe.

Critical thinking is hard so most people don't do it.
Joe? Old and decent.
That'll do just fine.
Thanks.
