its even more amazing that he did it on a les paul, those things are heavy until u get the hang of it, u definately gottan giv him props, he has the balls to do it haha
My god… justin and beau are unbelievably talented and their style, down to every individual note to the larger patterns, resonates to the deepest part of my being
Back in the day we thought we were so cool. We played guitar real hard and soloed like heroes. If only we'd known then that you could twirl a guitar around our necks ...
His rack consists of a Furman power conditioner, a Korg DT tuner, TC Electronic G Major and M1 effects units, a GCX midi controller and a rack tray. The tray contains a Boss noise supressor and a Shure UR4D wireless receiver. The racks and cases are made by Encore Cases. He uses Ernie Ball .011-.052 strings.
I once saw the guy from story of the year spin his guitar WITHOUT strap locks on apparently...needless to say, that shiny PRS guitar went flying and his expression was PRICELESS. (this is when they first came out).
@ArianHakim its called wireless...there's a cable that comes out of the guitar to a "box" that is on the guitar strap(back of the guitarrist) that sends the guitar sound to the mixer that sends the sound to the speakers
Justin is currently playing an Ibanez RG 550RXX in Black and a 20th Anniversary Ibanez RG 550XX, in Road Flare Red. His rig consists of a pair of Hughes and Kettner Triamp MKIIs, through matching H&K CC212 and CC412 B30 cabs. He has been previously seen with Schecter 006 Elites (Early tours), Gibson SG Standards, Gibson Les Paul Customs, Ibanez Paul Gilbert PG301's, and Fender Telecasters loaded with Seymour Duncan Hot Rails.
@vanssfranko97 wireless transmitter. If you look closely at 0:34 - 0:36, you can see this small metal box where you would normally plug the cable in :)
Love the video man! Saosin is flippin awsome! And for the guys who can't count guitar spins, you count for every time the guitar goes under his arm(including when he first throws it). Watch and count, i'll even give you a minute.............How many did ya count? You counted 5?! You're right! Thanks for the vid! -®aj-
@nexusvision10 yeah i know cause i own. but you can still see dat the guitar is hooked up to something and a wire that is hooked up to a transmittor that u stick in ur back pocket. so no, you are not pretty much free to flip it anyware. ud just pull the plug, or make the transmitor fly a 100 yards....
@AlexTheDrummer110 lol, yeah. Our low brass section is quite small, and we don't have a sousaphone. So I play bass. I'll have some videos up in a few days. My brother took them, but has yet to send them to me.
Actually I've seen some movie on youtube of a guy repeating it endlessly. Must've been at least 20 or 30. I guess if u get it right it's just like swinging a loop. But yeh it's pretty cool.
@Sivertsen93 Agreed, love me some Gibson, or at least Les Paul style guitars. I'm playing with a stratocaster now but as soon as I can get my hands on an LP... I'm looking at Schecter's Solo 6 Custom with Faded Vintage Sunburst. My friend plays with the Hellraiser C-1 and I liked it for a while but it seems like everyone goes for the C-1.
@nexusvision10 im more of a pure gibson man myself, just bought a les paul 59 VOS that im very pleased with, and i have a studio one and a standard. now im looking to buy a tele or a strat or something acoustic or semi acustic
ok, so the full title is "They Perched on their stilts pointing and daring me to break custom". its off their first ep, when they had anthony. cove is singing in this video though. both cove and anthony are amazing vocalists, different styles too, so people shouldnt argue who is better. its all about whos style you like better, cove is a better fit saosin better with their new stuff, and anthony fits circa perfect. end of story.
HOLY SHIT!!!!!!! id try it with my les paul but i dont want the strap to come off and watch as the guitar flies off into a wall or something and see the neck break off. ill then cry for a while after that. BUT I WANNA DO IT SOOOO BAD!!! it looks sooooo sik!!
@Sivertsen93 Did you even read the last half of my comment? You hook the transmitter on the strap of your guitar, and then there is nothing attaching the guitar to you, nothing in your back pocket, so you are free to flip it where you want.
I gotta admit that was badass
I watched this 15 years ago I was 17 years old. Now, I'm still checking this from time to time.
Wow......those are some beast ass strap locks.
Best dimarzio ad
The most badass guitar flip I have seen in my day.....and i've seen Led Zeppelin
Did Jimmy Page do a guitar flip?
Come on did Jimmy Page do a guitar flip or not! Lol
...he did?
So did he?!
its even more amazing that he did it on a les paul, those things are heavy until u get the hang of it, u definately gottan giv him props, he has the balls to do it haha
0:38 for the actual spin.
My god… justin and beau are unbelievably talented and their style, down to every individual note to the larger patterns, resonates to the deepest part of my being
I saw the original guitar flippers Ratt and Cinderella back in the eighties and I have to say, these guys took it to a whole new level! Amazing.
saosin is awesome live. i've seen them twice, and i've got tickets to see them again next month.
omg this comment is like a time capsule
a gem from early youtube days. they perched on stilts pointing and daring me to break custom.
this song is on the album Translating the Name which Anthony Green wrote while on Saosin, cove kills it.

Back in the day we thought we were so cool. We played guitar real hard and soloed like heroes. If only we'd known then that you could twirl a guitar around our necks ...
No freaking way, that is ridiculously amazing!
at least the guitar didn't fly off the strap and break this time!

damn that Les Paul is hella heavy too lol... respect Mr. Saosin
@ericgevingThe band is Saosin.. the song is "They pearched on their stilts, pointing and daring me to break custom"
His neck must chafe so bad after doing those. I've been able to do a double spin and I felt like my strap was going to cut through my neck.
Justin and Beau are so fcking SICK bro!!! These guys write amazing stuff and have such a killer sound
Fkin Craziee. Wish i could do that.
welp, he is indeed CRAZY. poor guy

@TheManTheBass it's a wireless and the sender unit is attached to the strap

i never thought of it like a hula hoop!! that is true, it is like a hula hoop when you spin the guitar
"They Perched on Their Stilts Pointing and Daring Me to Break Custom" is the song
The 900 degree guitar spin.

too fucking sick.
love saosin.
wtf...that is so awesome..i never saw anyone flip guitar like that!
he just won the game....
songs called "they perched on their stilts pointing and daring me to break custom"
they are locks you put at the ends and the only way your strap will come off is if you screw it off.
Wow that's a very good and scary guitar flip. I love it but will never try it.
thats saosin for ya, fucking amazing.
Damn that's awesome. I'd be too scared of breaking my guitar to do it though.
Jesus that was insane
tru... and he does is with a les paul custom... which is the heaviest guitar gibson makes.
Uhh that Les Paul is kinda heavy and he spin that shit 3 times easily 👏
i saw them in concert
it looks so tight when justin does that
Haha. It's actually not damaging to the keyboard at all. I learned how to flip it and it works just fine.
That's crazy he did that shit with a Les Paul!!!
Actually I've seen some movie on youtube of a guy repeating it endlessly. Must've been at least 20 or 30. I guess if u get it right it's just like swinging a loop. But yeh it's pretty cool.
@InsertNameHereTX yeah true. he doesnt play gibsons anymore though. =( he plays ibanez guitars now.
amazing song & performance!
I wonder how many has tried this with unsuccessfully results...
Praise strap locks
Strap locks is the key
wen justin does a guitar spin ima call it a saospin
@AlexTheDrummer110 Field shows, parades, football games, basketball games, everything. :)
regular strap locks are good. unless you want your guitar to be like and airplane then use the regular straps.
id be so scared to spin that precious les paul around...he better have amazing strap locks
@Sivertsen93 Agreed, love me some Gibson, or at least Les Paul style guitars. I'm playing with a stratocaster now but as soon as I can get my hands on an LP... @nexusvision10 im more of a pure gibson man myself, just bought a les paul 59 VOS that im very pleased with, and i have a studio one and a standard. now im looking to buy a tele or a strat or something acoustic or semi acustic
It depends on where you get them. I got mine for $110, but they range from probably anywhere from $80 to $140.
@AlexTheDrummer110 Wireless. I use one for my bass in marching band.
ok, so the full title is "They Perched on their stilts pointing and daring me to break custom". its off their first ep, when they had anthony. cove is singing in this video though. both cove and anthony are amazing vocalists, different styles too, so people shouldnt argue who is better. its all about whos style you like better, cove is a better fit saosin better with their new stuff, and anthony fits circa perfect. end of story.
2006, damn those were the days. Anyway, I'm not doing this on my ES-335 lol.
amazing... what song is this?? soo cool..!! saosin yeah
I did this the other night.....
No way in hell im gonna do it again without proper training
@AlexTheDrummer110 a little thing called wireless receivers
Kickass... 5 spins for the win!!
@Sivertsen93 Did you even read the last half of my comment? You hook the transmitter on the strap of your guitar, and then there is nothing attaching the guitar to you, nothing in your back pocket, so you are free to flip it where you want.
I love Justin !!!!!!!
Nice trick ;) I would be a little bit afraid about such a lovely Gibson Custom ;)
he was about to lose control on the fifth 1 :D ROCK ON
that was 5 flips i counted them. it doesnt even matter how many flips it was it was still awesome.
its called Perched on Stilt
I love Justin and his Guitar Flips....
