Apparently if you set Computer Strategy to 6/6, they'll make the most adjustments and potentially pull you. Haven't had a chance to test that yet though
NHL 14, 16 and 18 goalie modes were a complete fucking struggle for me. Haven't played since '18. The AI players could never do shit in '18 except turn the puck over in the defensive zone

Yet in '14 goalie modes were tied to unlocking certain +5 and +7 skater boosts for your online and live the life player that you probably didn't want to do without. Only reason I played as a tendie.

I have tried goalie BAP, I never make it pasted 2 seasons cause I rage quit from all the defense scoring on you and stupid bounces
Im late on this, but I have been playing BAP goalie since since 2013 and its always the same. You could save 29 of 30 shots; lose 1-0 and get blasted for not winning. Also, i feel like they NEVER pull the goalie when you're getting killed or when you're down at the end of the 3rd. I actually never even bought NHL 22 or 23 because I cant take it anymore..haha

Playing goalie is harder than in 14 and i hope they will make the neccesary adjustments. Goalie feels too slow compared to players movements. It would need to match the speed (players can shoot 100km/h shot without moving a muscle) and the fast movement feels super clunky. You should be able to manouver more smoothly with it. Maybe just make reaction times slower in fast mode and faster in precision mode. Even tho it is like this i have couple of tips as i love playing goalie too. Always look for the most dangerous player and try to cover him. Sometimes you have to predict what they are going to do (with one timers and behind the net its game over if you dont). If you know theyre going to shoot and there is not any other dangerous players around reach out from the net so you cover more net. When there is one or more dangerous players its more safe to be close to net so you dont have to move so much to make a save. I have somehow managed to hold around 91 save%đ

I do a goalie be a pro i played 9 seasons for NYR got 1 Stanley cup, got traded to New Jersey devils and won 2 back to back Stanley cups as starting goaltender. Itâs not super hard tbh
