The idea of being trapped in a dark cramped area while being tasked to light up certain places while you also getting pursued by cannibals is just horrifying.

I really like the atmosphere of this game, it is complemented by such sad moments and you begin to understand how serious everything is in this universe...

We pretty much just spawn in a random room at the edge of the catacombs. My guess is we were put in charge of evacuating the catacombs but found noone inside, only zombies.

Whenever im playing catacombs I always say in chat "I hope bro is in a better place now". Always. Usually sone people say rip and stare at the writing on the wall with me.
In the same map Catacombs, you have to kill a shambler in order to get a key and escape. The only way to get the key is to have it at the beginning and go down there meaning the man who lit the Catacombs is actually the shambler we have to kill. Another theory is that the same shambler is actually representing a real person who got lost in the Catacombs and died there. A hotel man discovered the catacombs and he died there. His body was only found because of the keys from the hotel. The shambler we kill also has keys meaning the hotel man also could be the shambler we kill although the key somehow opens the gate at the start.
If you dont know how he died: so apperently its an officer who was bitten in the hand his blood was on the ground which attracted the undead he wrote a note apperently he was found and wat bitten by 13 zombies

In the same map Catacombs, you have to kill a shambler in order to get a key and escape. The only way to get the key is to have it at the beginning and go down there meaning the man who lit the Catacombs is actually the shambler we have to kill. Another theory is that the same shambler is actually representing a real person who got lost in the Catacombs and died there. A hotel man discovered the catacombs and he died there. His body was only found because of the keys from the hotel. The shambler we kill also has keys meaning the hotel man also could be the shambler we kill although the key somehow opens the gate at the start.
