I bought the new keyboard and it’s blown me away . In the past I’ve used acoustic guitar only to compose. It’s the instrument I’m proficient on , but had a sketchy history on keyboard many moons ago . So could play a little, not much , but that didn’t stop me adding layers and depth . It’s really helped me to build songs , however bad , the way that it’s pictured in my head . Thank you for these lovely and awesome insights 💚💙
I own the mk3 s88 controller, the possibilities are endless, updating the firmware was not easy, (several hours of searching) the description said the update would take about two minutes, but believe me the update can take several hours, Just let it happen and certainly don't interrupt it, in the end it will work and you will have an incredible amount of fun with this native instrument.
I use and love the NI products, The new Komplete Kontrol Software layout is awesome, browsing is a charm and even if I use my other hardware controllers for it, my next buy will be definitely the new Komplete Kontrol S61 to use as a master keyboard. MK3 really rocks!!!!

A useful and informative video. I think I'm sold on the S88. But here's a top tip; if you're using CZcams to sell your own products, don't monetise the videos. Being interrupted by an ad every few minutes is REALLY annoying.
Still waiting for Komplete Kontrol to run standalone on the "powerful processor" in this thing. Particularly scale and arp modes out to direct MIDI connected devices.
If I could use it as a standalone electric piano with really good sounds, that would be the ultimate. Often I don't want to boot the computer and load the DAW, I just want to press one button and play. If the Maschine + was connected and had really good sounds like at least the new Kontakt library or one deeply sampled piano/rhodes (or even an S88 with M+ built in), that would make it so much of a plug and play instrument that electric pianos would not be necessary in many cases.
Im still learning but i personally cant say enough good things about the S88mk3. So thank you Native Instruments ! it only took this big box 3day’s in transit all the way to Iceland from berlin , im loving the chord mode , arp’s and the k.kontrol integration , im just hoping it is going to be made available for 3rd party plugins running out off k.kontrol in the future, and yes the maschine support aswell 😊

Does NI actually repair these if, after the warranty period, something goes wrong? I have a 23 year old Roland RD-700SX I'm considering replacing though it's been a flawless workhorse. I just want something more up-to-date that I can use with my Kontakt instruments.
Hi NI I’m seriously consider buying this keyboard, since I already own ultimate 14. But I also use gig performer live with my other keyboard running from the same computer M1 MacBook Pro 16 gb 10 cpu. I have some questions: Does the keyboard take any cpu or ram load of the computer? What happens with ram usage when browsing through sounds? Will it empty ram from previous loaded sounds? Is the Arturia menu supported now (from Arturias end), so you can load their V collection? Does the knobs do cc messages?
Unfortunately this keyboard crashes Kontakt inside Logic Pro with Somana OS and impacting many customers (to the point that NI made a not in their website re non-comparability). I’m really looking forward to this being fixed because I love Kontakt and also the new keyboard.

Big Komplete Kontrol user here...the MK3 hardware itself is gorgeous, but the KK3 software integration, especially with older projects, has been a disaster for me. KK3 broke almost all of the old projects in that all of the Kontkat 7 KK2 instances would load empty in KK3. Without a guaranteed translation from KK2 to KK3, and without the ability to run KK2 alongside KK3 I'll have to return my mk3 for now. I even tried an entirely fresh Windows install to see if it would iron out some of the KK3 problems, and it didn't help. Bottom line - I think the MK3 will work out well for you now if this is where you're jumping in, but if you're upgrading from MK1 or MK2 I'd wait 6 months til the software has more kinks worked out of it.

I’ll hold onto my keyboard until the return period ends to see if any updates increase stability for older projects. If not I’m not sure what my path forward is.

Update Maschine! You had the world at you feet with maschine and then you just stopped working on it. And nwo you even remove features such as the FX version of Maschine which I used in many sessions. I can do all of this and more with Maschine software and the controller. In fact I prefer it to my Komplete Kontrol series 2 kbd
You know what would be really good? If you actually shipped these controllers, and if they actually worked with your software. So far this is the biggest belly flop of a product release I’ve ever seen from NI. What’s the point of advertising these products if you’re just going to take our money and not ship it? Kontakt was never on a floppy disk. Everything had moved to CDs or even DVDs by that point, and it was way too big to fit on any floppy.
