    Learned lots of great tips and tricks that most quilters assume you already know. Thanks so much for the great video lesson.

    My go to video because no matter how many times I do it, my brain can’t remember the part where you cut to make the ends meet. There are other videos but by far this is the easiest for me to understand 😄

    Thanks for the video. Like the idea of using the ruler before sewing the corners to keep the corners sharp. What a cute mug rug.

    Your tip on sewing the strips together-the A tip! Game changer! Sometimes I just give up after making a really big messy looking strip because I’ve taken it apart so many times! Thank you!

    Thank you so much for this video tutorial!! I have read instructions on mitering corners but they never turn out perfect like yours. I think I can do it now!! And I may even have the confidence to try the machine stitching the back binding!! Thank you so very much!!

    Beautifully done! I've been quilting for years and haven't had too much trouble with binding, but have always measured a 1/4-inch in from the edge which has been problematic if I wanted to have that seam vary to a different measurement. Your tutorial showing marking the edge and then marking a 45-degree mark made a light bulb go off for me! Why didn't I think of that! Thank you so much for a great, informative tutorial! More, please!

    I like the idea of showing off MugRug on a small stand for holiday. Glue stick is good idea. As far as ruler moving I use Creative Grid clear tabs, stuck on back. I saw them at Houston quilt show when they first came out years ago. They hold the best. Sometimes hard to find. They sell out quick. Loved the You Tube demo. Also binding was great. Got good ideas I did not know, to make corners. Thanks

      Basically-- it would be the same procedure. You might want to use 2-1/2" wide strips for a larger piece. Next, I am going to show you how to do a SHAPED edge-- stay tuned!

    Loved this one......I think it's great that you show us short cut hints..........Joining the binding I would always pin then open to make sure it was right but your "A" hint will really make it easier...also I had never thought about using Elmers glue......what a great time saver..........who says you can't teach an old dog or woman new tricks....
    Looking forward to the next video....

      @@sanfranciscostitchco.9446 Me too Carol.......I learned to sew on an old treadle machine....when Mom was making my clothes I would bug her to let me make doll clothes......I don't know where she had the patience. I would give anything for her to see the machines we have today...

    Great tips on simplifying the corners. I’ve never just stopped and removed from the machine but it looks so much better than my corners.

    • @cherylw4814
      @cherylw4814 Před 2 lety +1

      , my method was to fold the 45 degree angle, then stitch off the edge on the fold (well, “close enough for government work”-I can say that as a former Fed), then fold the rest back down, start to stitch again at the 45 degree fold on the next side and repeat. Only problem when I would turn to open, it would not be as crisp as I’d like, so press, press, starch and cuss a lot. No video but you can visualize it from this, I’m sure. Difference??? You take it off the machine before doing the 45 angle. I’m trying your way, next time.❤️

    I've done the corners by just folding the 45 deg angle, but I like the marking method better, and using the ruler to make sure the folded back binding piece is actually straight. I definitely plan to try this on my next piece. Thanks so much for a detailed tutorial!
